I cannot explain how INFURIATING it was dealing with "Andrew" on the phone today. I just paid my…read morepremium, then we got hit with a $400 bill, ONTOP of not having access to our accounts for over a month due to Eries system wide outage. I was calling in today asking about the bill and trying to decide if I wanted to stay with Erie or switch companies and the guy kept repeating "well we close in 5 minutes" or "well I can do that tomorrow, we close in 4 minutes". Like I get it I work a nine to five too but if a customer calls in with a question about a random bill for almost half a grand you should answer the damn question. Andrew was rude, impatient, and had the most useless answers to my questions. The agency is not available after hours or on weekends so I would advise not insure with them.

At this point i asked to just forget it. Apparently this business is so busy they dont need or want my business, very unfortunate. They also had my last name in their system COMPLETELY different from what it is, despite me having given all my information twice before, and phonetically. It makes me not have confidence in their ability to be organized or communicate properly.

It's poor customer service and a comedy of error after error, costing me hours of my time to fix. Some of the most amazing errors are getting a policy with the wrong address for my home owner's policy, them saying they were going to cancel my other car insurance but never doing it, making me wait over a month to get a refund for over $1000 that was owed to me, gosh, the list goes on. You need to avoid this office at all costs.

My experience with Steve Sapio - State Farm Insurance Agent has been fantastic. I transferred my…read moreexisting State Farm policy when I relocated to Maryland from Utah to Steve, and the level of service I received from his customer service representative, Fonteyn, has been excellent. When I moved to MD I was in a pickle as I needed to hurry up and register to vote before the registration cut off. While doing this at the (terrible) MVA, I failed to provide the MVA with my updated insurance information. Well if you have no experience with the MD MVA, they are a bunch of scam artists. By failing to provide them with my MD insurance card, I was immediately assessed a $150 fine, and accrued additional fines of $7 per day. The kind folks at the MVA did not inform me of the fine, and I was only notified when the MVA decided to do an audit and send out collection notices. While I was properly insured in MD, the work required to have the fines forgiven is not simple. Thankfully Fonteyn knew the the magic procedure, and helped me correct the issue with the MVA, no fines paid. I could not be happier. I would strongly recommend this State Farm Agent if you are moving into the MD area, and are in need of a new Agent.
