We cancelled the policy and my dad maintained all of his other policies with Allstate. This week my DAD received a collections notice for a month of the premium for my MOM'S umbrella policy. No phone calls, no letters, nothing. They sent him to collections. I just called to resolve the issue and there was no apology, no explanation and I had to pay the mont of the premium. This is absolutely unbelievable and a horrible way to treat a loyal client. The amount of money is inconsequential, the distress this caused my father is horrible. He's 81 years old and has never paid anything late his entire life. He was devastated to receive a notice from a collection company and I am shocked and disappointed by how this was handled when we called in to try to resolve it. The account has been paid in full. I really hope that $45 was worth losing a long term client over.
