Update on NC Farm Bureau's handling of my June 2025 claim:…read more NC Farm Bureau's own hired engineering firm (Rimkus Engineering) conducted a forensic inspection and explicitly confirmed 100% contractor negligence (HomeUp)--concluding that while replacing siding, the contractor's heavy hammering caused vibrations and displacements in the exterior wall that broke the water supply line. Despite having clear forensic proof of zero policyholder fault, NCFB refuses to issue a standard administrative statement or status note on my C.L.U.E. loss report confirming 0% policyholder fault / third-party contractor liability. Even if NCFB chooses not to pursue subrogation for its own financial recovery, factual accuracy and fair reporting dictate that my public insurance record must accurately reflect that I was completely without fault. To make matters worse, instead of fixing their record, NCFB attempted to push an alternative policy from another company that carried a steep $2,500 deductible and did not even cover key areas of my home properly. NCFB management was well aware that my husband and I are 70 and 78 years old living on a fixed income, yet they attempted to steer us toward an underinsured policy rather than correcting their own administrative errors. NCFB continues to direct blame onto secondary underwriters. However, my current insurance agent formally confirmed in writing to Tyler and me: "As of this morning, Underwriting has advised that if Farm Bureau is not going to subrogate, or add messages I am 0% not at fault, then unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done." This written admission proves that NCFB's refusal to subrogate or clarify third-party fault directly prevents secondary carriers from adjusting my rating--locking my annual premium in at an inflated $3,100 per year. NCFB's refusal to stand behind its own engineering report, correct a simple record, and push inadequate coverage onto senior citizens on a fixed income shows a total lack of integrity and customer care.

Called in today and was very happy to hear that Jay McElveen was growing and scaling his business…read moreby adding talented new agents to help some of my clients needing insurance. Jay is a true master at his craft and has provided me personally with the best insurance advice I could have paid for on all of my properties and vehicles. He's also provided substantially HONEST advice to many of my clients that were considering buying homes they thought were in good shape but the insurance underwriting said otherwise... Nobody wants to buy a home where the roof passes a cheap insurance review just to find out that guess what - roof needs replaced in 60 days or else the lender calls the full loan balance due immediately due to it cannot be insured right????? Honesty, service, integrity, experience, options, foresight, knowledge, and many other positive attributes come to mind whenever I think of the McElveen Agency. This is why I choose Jay's team over a myriad of other insurance options out there. His expertise is truly best in class and proven to me and my clients for several years running since he's been my personal agent and served many of my clients with white glove best in class service.
