I purchased a rebuilt transmission for my Dodge Ram 3500 for $3,800.00 from this company in Nov. of 2023. I had it shipped to my Transmission shop in McKinney, TX. After it was installed and a few weeks went by, this transmission went out and left my son stranded 5 hours from home. I had to haul it back on a trailer. I contacted Allstate Gear and told them what happened, and immediately the excuses began. They said it is obvious the Transmission shop I used to install their transmission didn't put enough transmission fluid in and that cause the failure. They insisted on looking at it, so I had to pay to have it removed and shipped to their shop in San Antonio, TX. After they inspected it, they were still pushing the "not enough fluid put in" story, even though the shop video recorded the installation and the adding of fluid for their record. I had to send them over $700.00 for parts and the shipping to have the transmission returned to the shop for re-installation. A few months go by and the transmission goes out again. I call Allstate Gear to inform them, and they tell me my warranty is out and there is nothing they are willing to do to help me with the cost. The woman and two men I spoke to during all of this were very unprofessional and seemed only too quick to come up with excuses why their rebuilt product failed more than once. I am WAY to pissed to give a yelp approved review, (they would delete it). there are no words to describe how bad this place is. first class P.O.S. company, look elsewhere. they have ruined my 2022 summer of outdoor adventures in my jeep. Not counting over two grand to fix their mistake. I didn't trust them enough to fix the tranny they sent me, so I had someone local do it. ln July 2023 I purchased a ZF drive line parking brake for my f53 motor home after driving it approximately a thousand miles it started leaking from both front and rear seals after a few phone calls they finally agreed to look at it I shipped it back at my expense they replaced the seals and sent it back and said it only had warranty until July 2024 (3 months left from when purchased originally) I reinstalled it drove it about 1500 miles and it started getting low on oil but couldn't see a leak they said it was over filled I pulled it out and all the oil was leaking out the front seal between it and transmission i put 75 90 synthetic gear oil in instead of transmission fluid like they recommended i paid 1200.00 for this and with shipping and labor I have over 1500.00 dollars in this piece of junk and have had to cancel our winter vacation twice the one year warranty ran out !!!!!!! read more

I recently purchased a transmission for my 2010 Mustang Gt Premium. With a 5spd Manual. I had the transmission drop shipped directly to the Ford Dealer I have all of my Ford Vehicles serviced. The dealer installed my transmission. Installation went well. Mechanically everything works well, There is a substantial transmission fluid leak from new transmission. Allstate Gear has done nothing to help. I have 30 miles on vehicle since Oct. Customer service is bad, They pretty much told I'm on my own. Do not buy from these people. I give them an F From the pics attached you can see the fluid just running down the tranny housing. There's no excuse for not helping me. They say no warranty offered. read more

I ordered parts for a transfer case nine days ago because they showed them in stock and offered ground shipping. I added a note stating to notify me if there were any delays. Well today I call to get the tracking info because the parts should be in hand and the truck is to be back to the customer by the weekend to find that my entire order has still not shipped due to an out of stock $5 drain plug (that I can get right down the street at ANY parts store). No notice, no e-mail, no call, nothing. As a business I cannot comprehend how you do that. Now I get to be the one with bad news... thanks All State Gear, made my day. I have to say I am disappointed with this organization. Received a defective item and their immediate response is that it was installation error. No intention of making it right by the customer despite the fact the piece broke during proper installation procedures outline by the manufacturer. Piss poor customer service as expressed by others. Zero stars if possible. The "in stock" nv5600 transmission I bought took more than 30 days to deliver. The Transmission was junk transmission, sent back for warranty, the warranty repair came back worse when new. They never returned my Core Charge. I had to take the Junk transmission they sent elsewhere to have their "newly rebuilt" transmission rebuilt at my own cost, so I could get my vehicle on the road. I've ordered a number of parts from this company because I had no choice to go elsewhere. The first time I called and asked if I could combine 2 orders (a bell housing and input shaft) to save on separate shipping and I was told no in the rudest tone. Their shipping rates are WAY overblown. 2nd time I tried to order a main shaft on their website. They took the my payment then cancelled the order without notifying me then didn't refund my money until I called and asked why it wasn't shipped. Bottom line is this company is totally unreliable and their "customer service" is a burning garbage pile of rude uncooperative people. (My actual rating is NO STARS) These people are the most childish, unprofessional, incompetent adults I have ever had to deal with. We broke down in rural Arkansas and had to stay at a nearby Inn while we ordered the part for our truck - 8 hours from home. There was no cell service, but the Inn, thankfully, at least had Wifi service. (Yay! We could email!) Eventually, a friend made an 18 hour round trip to pick up me and my children so we could go back to work and school, but since my husband works from home, he stayed with the truck until we could get the part and get the truck repaired. The part was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. Wednesday came and went - no part. Then the delivery date was changed to Friday. Friday came and went - no part! When the same thing happened on Monday and Tuesday the following week - 12 days of him being stranded - we were finally told by Kristine, in the "accounting department" of AllState Gear the part had been mislabeled and was in New Mexico... no apologies, didn't bother to try to make things right, just excuses, by Kristine, that she had no idea how that could have happened... My husband then told them via email that he expected, after all this time that the part be located and overnighted to him so he could get the vehicle repaired and get back home. Lo and Behold, another email from Kristine. She was very unprofessional and snotty stating that she had tried to call my husband but he "refused" to answer the phone. She further stated that if he would call her "like a grown up" and ask for the manager, they may try to work this out... I responded to her email telling her he had no cell service, she had no reason to speak to us in that manner and she was a shitty customer service person and why was ACCOUNTING responding to the emails, anyway? It turns out Kristine got even nastier when I asked for the contact information of her boss. THIS is the quote from the email she sent me: "accounting@allstategear.com is in charge of the payments and Allstate operations as I have married the second generation here are Allstate Gear." (this is the actual quote from the email!) She is married to the "second generation" so that gives her the right to be unprofessional, rude, treat people like sub-humans and not get parts to the customer??? Seriously, people... even if I had to spend twice the amount, I would never ever go through these people again. WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH!! Customer service definitely is not a concern to this company. I placed an order and according to the bill of materials included in the box, showed all parts had shipped and were included, which wasn't actually the case. I emailed to inquire about the missing parts and got one response telling me I had been refunded for the part due to it not being in stock. I received the price of the part only and nothing for the extra shipping. If I reorder I'll have to pay shipping again. The second missing part wasn't even mentioned. Had to call in to inquire. Mentioned on the phone that the customer service was less than satisfactory, this person didn't give a shit and pretty much hung up on me. I'll never do business with Allstate Gear again, I'll sooner pay more elsewhere. From looking at the other reviews, this is NOT an uncommon experience. This place is an absolute joke. Bought a fully rebuilt transmission and transfer case from them. Over $4,000. Paid for it to be shipped halfway across the country. Only after installing the parts in my vehicle did I discover that they both have problems. The transmission is absolute junk and the transfer case has the incorrect output shaft. When I reached out to them about the issues they wanted nothing to do with it. First they told me they couldn't find me in their system. This is for parts I bought only three months ago. Then they told me I was a liar. Then after the first guy who was screaming and swearing on the phone handed the phone over to someone else they agreed to take a look at the parts. But I would have to ship them back on my dime and pay return shipping. Not to mention all the money I've already lost in labor having the part installed in my vehicle. Again these are Parts I bought from them less than three months ago. My advice is to stay away and buy your parts elsewhere. These guys are clowns. Similar experiences as Mr. Scott. 2005 Ford Ranger 5 speed M5R1 Feb 8 purchased transmission Feb 14 transmission delivered Feb 16 installed Mar 22 transmission locks up in 2nd gearcoming to a sudden stop. Towed home on a rollback wrecker. Mar 23 contacted Allstate gear, and was told they needed to talk to the builder of the trans. Mar 24 they asked a few questions and I was told to pull the trans and return for warranty. Mar 26 pulled and shipped Apr 6 they told me it shipped, but could not provide a tracking number Apr 16. They told me the trans was damaged in shipping and would send out another one As of now (June 3) the can not provide a shipping confirmation or a tracking number. I have recorded 28 phone calls with zero progress. Breakdown $750 transmission $300 core $304 tow bill $173 return shipping Unfortunately it looks like I will be taking my original "core" to a local builder and loosing all the money i have spent with Allstate Gear. This company has been absolutely horrible to deal with. I'm not a person that ever writes on yelp mostly just looks at other reviews people post but I feel completely done wrong by this company and meaning there are no reviews I felt it would be a good time to start a review on my experience. It started off by my first order, on last Tuesday I called and spoke to a guy named Billy, as I ordered the parts I told him I needed the parts next day or overnighted, he then made it clear they would be here next day. Next day Wednesday rolls around no parts, then the next day Thursday no parts. As I called back and talked to Billy that second day he told me he had screwed up and the parts never made it out. So at this point I had realized that I needed to change the order and swap out a few parts with other parts. He then reassured me he would get everything fixed and out. The next day all the original parts showed up without the changes he assured me he had made. So I got the parts out I needed and shipped the ones back that I didn't need . After called and talking to Billy again he told me how he had screwed again and that he never got those parts swapped out for me and the other parts never shipped. He then reassured me again that I would have the other part on Monday. Well Monday rolls around and still no parts. So I then call Billy back Again! This time he is looking up what all had happened and told me the parts got on the wrong truck and were in North Carolina, he then told me he would get a new order out on Monday that day and it would be here Tuesday. So as I have already been dealing with all this crap with this company I decided I might wanna call this morning to make sure the parts were in fact on the way. As I got through to Billy he then told me he screwed up again and never got that other order out or canceled the last. He then told me the order that was in North Carolina should be here tomorrow. This company Allstate gear is one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with I paid $2,300 for a transmission that I had several problems with they offered me a refund I sent the transmission back so far I've received $961.80 and they told me that was all I was getting back they will not give me back my core charge which was Cash of $700 they are charging me a restocking fee of 20% and a shipping charge which is 185 I was supposed to be receiving back $885.10 that is how much they are taking from me and told me do not call them back because they are not going to give it to me so out of $2,300 I put the engine in I put the Transmission in my truck it lasted 3 months 5th gear and a bearing came out they replaced it and was supposed to give me my shipping fee to ship it back to them and they did not I get they transmission back put it in my truck it is still doing the same thing so I took it back out and requested a refund which the owner of the company said that is the only thing we can do now so if it were me I would pass this company up because they have a very bad review? read more

I recently ordered 2 gasket/seal kits for a transfer case and transmission. They were both listed in stock (although one was listed as $0.00, admittedly strange). I ordered both and paid shipping for both (I put each item in my cart by themselves to check shipping for each item; there was most definitely a difference). Both items were listed as shipped and delivered but I only got one in the mail. I contacted All State and said that there was a problem. They claimed that they no longer carry the one product and kept it on the website for reference (but didn't bother to change the item as "out of stock"). I told them I either wanted the gasket/seal kit or the difference in shipping returned to me. They incorrectly claimed there was no difference. Currently, you can put that one particular seal kit into a cart, pay over $10 for shipping and have nothing delivered. I contacted the BBB to file a complaint. They reached out to All State and All State responded that the shipping I paid is standard for all of their products and that I just wanted free stuff. I responded with screenshots of the shipping differences and shipping info (indicating that both products shipped). All State never replied to the BBB so the case was closed as unresolved. I previously left review on All State's Facebook page regarding my situation/complaint. I went back to look at their page and add more to my review only to see that they had removed me from their page, erased every review that anyone had ever posted and now every post has to be reviewed by them before it is made public. This is not the way to run a business. I was always very polite and simply wanted money back for a shipping of a product that never actually shipped. Instead they ignore me and the BBB. I took the transmission out of my service truck to All State gear to have it rebuilt last year. Dropped it off and picked it up. The rebuild cost more than just buying one of their off the shelf transmissions. They advertise rebuilt ZF6 transmissions for $1850 but charged me $2300. I Installed the transmission and 6 weeks later the transmission would slip out of 6th and 4th gear. Pulled the transmission out and took it back. I was told that I needed to install a Luk clutch instead of the brand new heavy duty Valeo clutch and that they found a faulty snap ring in the transmission. So, I purchased a brand new Luk clutch and installed it per their recommendation. Installed the transmission a second time. The tansmission worked fine for 8 months until I suddenly lost 3&4th gear. I was 300 miles away from home and now the transmission was seized in between gears. I had to have the truck towed home 300 miles which cost me $1400. Pulled the transmission back out and dropped it off. The employees there said now they cant find my invoice and its my fault because I'm supposed to find it. I picked up the transmission and dropped it off at a second transmission shop. All together All State Gear has cost me several thousand dollars and none of the employees have shown any remorse. Their transmission rebuild has left me stranded twice, cost me 2 separate tow bills, and they didn't honor their warranty. I hope i never hear about All State Gear again. read more

I purchased a ZF transmission brake for my f super duty truck and it didn't even last 30 days and now they are telling me it's my fault and they will not warranty it. they are saying I didn't put enough fluid in it and didn't check it regularly which I did. its even on their website that 99 percent of manufacturers default will happen within the first 30 days which is what happened to me so a seal must have busted while I was driving and the fluid leaked out and seized up the unit. as soon as I heard the noise I pulled over right away and had my truck towed home and now I can't even get the unit off the truck to replace it. there was nothing leaking and no fluids on the ground where I park so it must have happened while I was driving and now it's my fault that it had bad seals and they flat out told me they will not warranty it because I didn't put enough fluid in it. how the hell would they know what I did or didn't do. they don't want to except that it was a factory default that caused everything. so now I'm out the $900 I paid plus towing and have to buy another one from somewhere else because I will not be doing business with them ever again. they are also very rude when trying to talk to them on the phone. read more

Where do I begin? First, they send me an incomplete master rebuild kit with missing and duplicate bearings and told me on the phone that it wasn't a mistake and that I should pay attention to pictures a little better; when "new bearings" is on the parts list, all bearings should be included right? Anyway, then my 5th gear nut backed off, it's a Dodge pickup with the Cummins diesel and an NV4500 5 speed. I had to use the old retaining collar for the half washers since they forgot to send that art with the rebuild kit, and when the nut backed off it sent the half washer through the gear, thus destroying my brand new part... after 490 miles. THEN, after putting my old gear back in, torquing the nut 50 ft/lbs over spec, with loctite, and using the set screws provided, it backed off yet again at, get this, 490 miles... while I was 600 miles away from home. Drove it home in 4th. I sent them pictures of all damaged parts and comparisons of the 5th gear nut that they sent me and the original one which looks completely different and even after all that, they tell me that I didn't tighten it enough twice in a row. Fact is, they sent me a wrong part which caused major damage and I have pictures to prove it, then proceeded to lie to me so that they didn't have to make it right. Needless to say I will not be doing business with them again and am very disappointed. read more

Well I buy a ZF brake part last may for my motor home that broke down in dryden ont. received part promptly in Toronto drove back to dryden in my car and installed it. We are back on the road heading to Vancouver by noon and drove Appox 250 km stopped for gas and checked under rv and this new brake part is red hot and leaked all of its oil. Parked rv and removed part and sent back for warranty. Drove to Vancouver in car and waited. 6 week. For new part. Reinstalled it and decided to head home. Every tank full of gas I was adding oil to zf brake. Took out in November and re sent to billy for repair. Never heard anything buy the end of January so i called , was told they did not have part, called a week later. They found it under a bench. I have called every month since and have heard every story in the world. No fun. But good news i hope is I received it today. July 17 hope when i reinstall it it works. But not much hope. I can see a few more times trying to get the leaks stopped read more
