Transmission for my Dodge 1 ton supposed to be the best ha ha ha !!!!!
AFTER many times trying to work with these people and not write this I am left no choice. My son first contacted these people at Allstar in Colorado and asked many question as he is a car head on many different forums and know what to ask and understands the lingo. This was May or June 2014. We after all the this is the best tranny sales bit paid with my American express and bought a bullet proof there words transmission. IT was supposed to be on the shelf built ready to go per there salesman. Told it would be there in 3 days after they looked up shipping to our area in MN. When it did not show up on the 4th day I called and got the run around then the same on the 5th day and 6th day and so it went for 9th day it came. When it arrive it had been dropped I assume it transit and it was very noticeably damaged. The truck driver said if it was his he would refuse it so we went in and called Bret whom is the owner of Allstar and he told me my shop man and the truck driver that delivered it that he guaranteed the tranny to be fine and take the pan that was bent and the other outer parts that were broke off my core and put it in. He also said and my fault for not getting it in writing if anything was wrong he would pay to pull it back out and make it rite. He told us he would pay us to swap the pieces of the core also.
So we did all that and drove the truck and all seemed ok. The next week I was moving my Amish friends from MN to OH and Bret knew that my truck was always pulling and said his tranny was bulletproof. HA HA 200 MILES INTO THE TRIP and the problems started. The tranny would hardly move the truck so I pulled over to see what was up. It was like the bands were slipping. So I checked everything and no leaks , tranny full of fluid , no noise , everything looked ok. So I tried it again and it went so I was thinking it was a fluke thing maybe so I took it very easy for the night not getting on it at all and it seemed ok. The next day went good as we were on mostly flat ground no big hills across the toll roads OF IL, IN , AND OH. As soon as we got off the toll road and into the hills it started when pulling it was like it would downshift and miss the gear and the get the gear and slip and the bang a buck. so I started really to baby it and was able to get it to work well enough to get the furniture delivered and go back to MN. I called Allstar when I got home and explained everything to Bret the salesman and the even got the shop guy on the phone that rebuilds the trannys . The told me they would have to build a tranny this time rite up front and it should be on its way in about a week. So I thought cool they are going to do what they said this time. They were just appeasing me and had no intention of doing that though. 10 DAYS LATER NO TRANNY. So I called and the story changed to well Robert we have been waiting for your tranny and I got mad and said some things I maybe should have not said but if they wanted my tranny back, they should have and would have sent me a return ticket to ship it and that did not happen nor did they call me and ask were is the broken tranny. I felt by our conversation that they were sending the new tranny out as they stated in a week and would send a call ticket with it for the return. So the big war started and I contacted my Credit card company to help me with a dispute but these guys know how to play and they beat my dispute with out rite lies three times. Finally I got my Attorney involved and he had me take the truck to a dodge dealer and they dealt with Allstar to get me another tranny after they proved this on was rebuilt incorrectly in the first place. Again the replacement tranny that they promised to the dealer was late also . But finally I got my truck back and what seemed to be a tranny that worked. This is the gift that keeps giving though because today the tranny broke again. Reverse went out with my 18 yr old daughter pulling here horses and I called Bret and mind you I have paperwork that states 36 month warranty and he told me someone else will have to fix it and hung up on me. This by far has been the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire 35 years of trucking and I own my own towing and repair shop , so I have worked with many venders from parts places to tire shops to truck shops to engine and tranny and rear end rebuilders everything you can imagine in this industry light duty to heavy duty we deal with. Bret at Allstar tells you what he thinks will get him the sale and what he thinks you want to hear. He is a very bad operator and very deceitful.!!!!!!! His word is false false or he would do what he said . As you can see I have had a very bad experience and after almost $6000.00 in money out of pocket on this and the loss of use of my truck 3 times due to this guy and his bald face lies here it is. I will be putting this on every forum I can find.!! R Minoletti read more
