We feel so fortunate to have found someone who not only brings her competent skills and caring attitude, but provides joy and laughter. In addition to the necessary care, she brings poems or an inspiring story to share and she plays my aunts favorite game of Rummikub. We look forward to the days she's here and I'm a little jealous because they have so much fun. Comfort Keepers staff has been so very supportive and attentive to our needs. After knocking on the door and witnessing it with my own eyes. Instead of firing the OT, they fired us as patients after I made a post about the abuser, in a local PRIVATE moms group, warning other parents. Dozens of other parents came forward with stories of abuse from that same OT. Shady practices, suspicious behavior, and covering up abuse. When I confronted he and his wife, he denied saying anything and then became belligerent and she said he has dementia and doesn't know what he says (if that is the case, then he should not be in the store being rude to potential customers). Arbor Landing's Horizons Memory Care unit is NOT for every memory care patient. It is ONLY for…read moreyour loved one or parent IF they can still walk, talk and feed themselves, which they do not tell you when you sign a contract and move in. They do not have two person assist and at least 70% of dementia patients lose their motor skills during late stage and at that point, Arbor Landing will give you a 30 day notice to move your parent, which is what they did to my mother. If they tell you that your parent can 'age in place' and live out the rest of their life there, it's not true. My mother was unable to walk so they left her in her bed, which she fell out of twice and bruised her face, and told me that it was against their policy for me to get her out of the bed myself to put her in a wheelchair to go outside for fresh air. I had to move her to a nursing home after they asked her to leave and she died two weeks later from the stress of changing her environment. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
