And a slow calm massage that nearly sends me to sleep. Unfortunately, I have a bad back and was here for solely remedial purposes. And remedial massages hurt. However, I felt so safe in the hands (pardon the lame pun) of my masseuse Tanya that I was able to deal with any discomfort or pain. This is one of those rare places where they really know what they're doing and actually work to reach the root of your problem. I was also given some really great advice on how to alleviate the pain. While at $107 for an hour it isn't cheap, it's well worth paying for. As well as the clinic, Natural Health and Wellness has a yoga and pilates studio.

She was a great instructor and I'd definitely suggest this dynamic class to any keen yogi's out there. I was very skeptical going in to my first mindfulness class. I wasn't really sure what it was going…read moreto entail and I'm not a big fan of taking my shoes off, sitting in a circle and pretending to be interested in other people's problems, their search for spirituality or their bad poetry. What I learnt in my eight-week course is that mindfulness is about understanding perspective, that it takes a lot of hard work to learn the skills needed to keep it going, and that there is a lot of value to understanding or knowing oneself better. It is not an overly spiritual experience and is based very much in the goal of just being able to deal better with the world around us. The cost is very reasonable, the support materials are excellent and the classes are really well structured. This was very nearly a five start review and would have been if the centre presented itself better. The website and introductory process didn't fill me confidence about what I was letting myself in for, but I'm really glad I did the course.

I have been going here for about 6 years so I have seen a few doctors at this practice. I prefer to stick with one when possible but sometimes schedules and urgent issues don't allow that. The doctors (Dr Oh, Dr Khoo, Dr Civitico) I have seen are all very good. They provide thoroughness and consistency that you just don't get at the big commercial chain practices. They do charge above the Medicare fee and ask you to pay the entire fee up front but they do forward the details to Medicare on your behalf for reimbursement directly from medicare for the standard amount. They have an onsite collection centre for HealthScope pathology so you can one stop shop if needed.

I mean, she's fantastic and I happily recommend her to people, but can you really get excited about a medical clinic? On reflection though, I found that it's possible to think about your experiences in that place to date and realise you have very little to fault. I see two doctors at this clinic - Dr Trish Civitico and Dr Graeme Edwards. Both are great! Whilst Collins Place does bulk bill, a regular appointment will still need you to pay a certain amount over and above that. After your Medicare rebate, it works out to be about $15. They do however bulk bill vaccinations and the full cost is covered. I started going to CPMC when I worked across the road... and whilst I no longer work there, I still make the trip into the city because the experience here is consistently great... and when you're sick, you want consistency and predictability, right?
