Please anyone thinking of going to this shop then please be aware that all they care about is getting money from you. I went along to look for a dress and I only had my nine year old daughter with me. They give me such a hard sale that I felt so intimated that I ended up buying a dress for £1485 even though I wasn't convinced I liked it. They told me I wasn't allowed to take a picture of the dress or even have time to think about it and I had to pay 80% (£1141.50) of the dress there and then and being on my own I felt I was left with no choice. I knew the dress wasn't right for me but they did nothing to help me. When I was finally allowed to see the dress some months later I just burst into tears as I knew I'd made a massive mistake and the manager just handed me a box of tissues and said you've got 10 minutes as I need to be in Swansea. I had to pay the reminder balance of the dress even though I hated it. They did say they would try and sell it on but they done absolutely nothing to help me and when someone who had seen the dress on ebay contacted the shop they where told they weren't allowed to go and try the dress on (despite me saying i would take full responsibility for any damage to the dress) and that I would have to go and collect the dress from the shop as they were no long prepared to hold it there. So £1485 later with a dress I hate the shop is refusing to even allow me to keep the dress in the shop. All they care about is getting "the Sale" despite whether the dress is right for you or not. I did have a completely different experience when I went to Laura May - nothing was too much trouble and it was more important to them that I found a dress I loved rather than it being all about the money. Please only go to this shop if you take someone else with you and don't be pressured into buying something you're not 100% sure about. All the care about is the sale not the customer. Allison Jayne is a beautiful set of shops in Bristol, Swansea and Cardiff. All three shops host a selection of beautiful gowns, some of which are incredibly unique and special, and unlike others I have seen in many other bridal stores. I visited both the Swansea and the Cardiff store. I was blown away by the customer service in both stores. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, honest and kind. They were so patient with both myself and all members of my family and they really made it an enjoyable experience. I bought my dress from Cardiff, and got on so well with the girls I trusted their opinions. I took my Mum to buy her mother of the bride outfit from the Swansea store as it has some gorgeous Ian Stuart pieces. My mother is a little older and can be difficult sometimes but the staff immediately took her under their wing, and had her laughing and smiling which was lovely to see. A range of gorgeous dresses and friendly, helpful and charming staff made the occasion unforgettable. I needed an evening dress for my staff Christmas party and after receiving possibly the worst customer service at Debenhams i was miserable. I went in here to be greeted by the Owner Allison who is absolutely lovely, she helped me pick out some dresses. She was attentive and quite frankly reminded me of a fairy godmother, exactly the feeling you want when picking out a special dress. I picked up my dress today and again recieved great customer service. The dress is beautiful and although i paid more than i would have in Debenhams it was well worth it for the experience and for a dress no one else will be wearing. I hadn't read any reviews of this store before I went but the store stocked the designer I wanted. Staff were friendly and supportive throughout the entire experience. At my first visit they were happy to wait while I tried on numerous dresses, helping me find THE dress and were helpful during the payment and alteration process. The staff knowledge and advice was outstanding and enabled me to save money in the long run. When collecting my dress the staff attention to detail was exceptional and even stayed beyond closing to ensure I was happy with the end result. Overall I would fully recommend the store; the price, experience and service was excellent. read more

It's a real shame but as good as this place looks, as nice as the staff are. . . . . . . . DO NOT USE THIS PLACE - EVER!!! The owner will ruin your wedding experience completely. Get ready for strong arm tactics, lies, bad treatment, patronisation and having the owner target your wallet at the expense of all else. Fabulous I can't thank Jean and Alison enough for their help, I was very nervous about getting a mother of the groom outfit I recently lost over 3 stone but I was still anxious it was not enough for an outfit to look nice on me how wrong was I thanks to Jean, Alison and the girls I've got a fabulous outfit and I look and feel a million dollars and what a self esteem boost I got. I have visited the store 4 times and each time I was greeted by friendly, knowledgeable staff. I wanted a mother of the bride outfit and the staff listened to what I wanted and helped me choose the perfect outfit. When I returned for the alterations they again were helpful and seemed genuinely interested in my daughter's big day. read more
