My daughter who works at McDonald's just got a bill from a debt collector for 2 bills that she didn't know she had. She's been paying on 3 already and have them almost paid. These two just put marks on her credit report. Thank you Memorial for all the help you gave her on getting these bills paid and telling her what bills she had. I just got out of the hospital myself and put off getting insurance because my husband retired in January and I get medicare in October. I took a chance. So far I have gotten 4 bills from different departments. It will take me forever to pay them off but I will get them done but there has to be an easier way to make sure a customer gets all the bills on one paper and not 20 different ones. A doctor that saw me 2 times for 2 minutes and I have to pay them 3,000 is ridiculous. But that's my fault. I have to say though the staff on 9 South was the greatest. They made it easier to be in the hospital.

The nurses, doctors, even the front desk staff are all on point when it comes to the top notch care provided from this hospital. Never once did I feel like my mom was not priority during her stay. I was in town on vacation and fell down a set of wet steps. I was worried my leg was broken, so I went to the emergency room. Everyone from the nurses to the doctors to the radiologist were amazing. I was pretty embarrassed about having to go to the ER under those circumstances but they were really supportive. My only hesitation in giving a five star review is that the woman who was doing registration clearly had no idea what she was doing. I had pictures of my insurance card. However, she could not figure out how to process it. She spent 20 minutes to a half an hour with me at the emergency check in and then came back to my bed to ask me more of the same questions. If she had gotten the information, correct, I would not have a problem with her doing that. However, Given the size of the recent bill I received, it appears that she did not get the information correct. Now I have to contact the hospital and contact my insurance and spend a lot of my own time trying to figure out this billing issue when it could easily have been resolved, if she simply handled it correctly. She acknowledged that she didn't really understand what she was doing. It's unfortunate that I have to mention this because otherwise, I was completely satisfied with the service I received, especially given a somewhat embarrassing situation.

I told the rude lady from registry that the 3 times they sent me to south bend because they didn't have the doctor's I needed my Michigan Medicaid wouldn't pay and it went on my credit report so she told me maybe I should go back to south bend, I've never been treated so bad at a hospital. Stear clear of this hospital unless you have Michigan Medicaid and don't have transportation to go elsewhere. This hospital sucks!
