Went to the doctors office twice in one week and they could not figure out I had appendicitis. After I got out I needed medical clearance to have the surgery done and Dr. Alan's office still has not sent my letter of clearance over to my surgeon for me to get all of this finally taken care of. Not to mention everybody in the front office could care less they never return phone calls and they almost have a laughing attitude when I address my problems to them. This office feels like a money grab because you never actually meet the doctor, everything is done through inexperienced nurse practitioners and he never calls you even when all of this is going on. The "office manager" just called me after they saw my review and actually insulted my insurance saying it's one of the lowest paying insurance out there. How unbelievably inappropriate and unprofessional to mention money when discussing poor medical care. After realizing on the phone call how much they screwed up my care she ends the phone call with "go find another doctor." Before this recent phone call I was just writing a complaint now I'm calling my attorney for malpractice. [Then they respond to my review] The doctor(owner) responds in 24 minutes but never saw me when I needed medical attention. Reading their response it looks like they are calling their clientele broke drug addicts. This is a good example of how they feel about their patients and why I started my review Honestly in this day and age if a doctor can't diagnose appendicitis after two doctor visits in one week.... what are they qualified to handle? The one thing this experience has taught me is to move everything with my medical care over to Northwell and their doctors.

My son cries with every other doctor he has seen except Dr Strauss, he makes my son feel at ease and make sure he gets the proper care that is needed. My son has had a chronic cough pretty much since birth and he is now 2. We have seen a handful of doctors and finally my sons cough has stopped and he is a happy little 2 year old, all thanks to Dr Strauss. If you need an allergist this is your guy!!!. Dr Strauss's wife Mindy is a saint as well and greets us with a smile and is very informative when it comes to insurance matters. Dr Strauss and his staff are just another example of the high quality product and patient care the Allied Physicians group demonstrates. The staff scheduled my twin infants with Dr Gotleib who performed a procedure where he placed a scope up by 6 week old baby's nose down into her throats and then when he finished he told me that he "doesn't really deal with infants" This Dr should have told us that before performing g an invasive procedure on my screaming baby. As if it couldn't get any worse when he was done and told us that he then proceeded to ask my husband and I if he should scope my other twin. HORRENDOUS. I was so upset that when I got him I called to speak to the office manager about what had happened and without warning she put HIM on the phone and he admitted he was wrong in what he did. We are reporting him the medical board.

Johnson in my first visit and what a total bust.. she didn't seem to want to be bothered with anything I had to say or questions I had regarding my daughter. So then I started to see Dr.Svitek. And wow what a world of a difference. His bedside manner is off the charts. He's compassionate and caring and really takes his time to listen to your questions and concerns and give you honest answers. My son was diagnosed with a milk protein allergy after a hospital stay at cohens and dr.svitek called the following day to check up on him to see how he was doing. Love love love this dr. The negative to their office is the billing manager. God forbid insurance doesn't pay something she makes it the patients responsibility to "fight back and forth with the insurance to get the bill paid." Like I don't have better things to be doing with my day. That is the medical billers job not the patients job, I even went as far as to calling the insurance company to see what I could do and they said the provider needed to call. I was told flat out that they wouldn't be doing that. I've never came across an office where I was held responsible to do the medical billers job. Last I checked I'm not on their payroll. So because of this whole ordeal I've gotten a bad taste in my mouth. And it sucks because I love the dr. That my daughter and son go to but the billing staff is lacking. Just a warning to anyone looking to go here I suggest you stay on top of your stuff with them since the billing staff isn't.

I have met Dr. Reina several times and we discussed my mother's care, tests, meds and treatment both, in person and by phone. She is thorough, considerate and caring. My mother absolutely adored her, and was confident in the care she was given was the best available. As an R.N., as well as concerned daughter, I agree.
