The woman in the office was polite and heard me out, the gentleman in the office was not very friendly and a bit rude. I called for a service in the morning earlier in January and was told I would get a call back if someone was available to stop by. I never received that call back where I could ask for service rates but somebody showed up at my door later that morning. They opened my unit up and found no issues, this took all of 25 minutes including the drive over to my house. I politely asked over the phone when I received an invoice for a full 1 hour service call if they would drop it to a half hour and they said they can't, it's policy to charge a full hour minimum for a service call. Well, I was never made aware of policy because I never received a call back to ask any further questions. I went in to speak to someone in person about this and like I said, the woman was very polite. The man in the office said "No, we've been doing it this way for years and we aren't going to change for you." I wrote them a check and left. If I was made aware of the $125 minimum I probably wouldn't have had anyone out due to the nature of my issue or I would have at least been able to agree with the cost. This isn't the way I would treat my local customers, I'll be going anywhere but Baker for my HVAC needs in the future.

We purchased a New very large Window for the dining room/sitting room area of cottage #1 here. It lets in just the right amount of light & is perfect for sittin a chair next to it to read & view the Gorgeous rolling hills of North Texas wine country. Fabulous. We also purchased a New craftsman style Anderson solid OAK inside, aluminum outside window for the guest room of cottage #1 that is stunningly beautiful. My absolute favorite window I purchased here is the speciality giant 48x72 Horizontal sliding (side to side) "cottage style window" that was installed in the master suite of Cottage #1 (in front of the clawfoot tub) so you can view the sunset over rolling hills of the North Texas wine country from the bath in the evening. Just lovely. We even installed solid wood Horizontal sliding (side to side) "shutters" inside to close off the "cottage style window" for privacy. I custom made those. I also purchased 4 sets of 14 light French doors that went into cottage #1, 2 in cottage #2 and 4th set will go into cottage #3 we are just breaking ground on, so they will all match. We have found so many building materials here also that we have used. It's good to keep checking as inventory comes in all the time. If you are looking for a certain size window or door, you can call them to check to see they have it in stock. They also have a 2nd location, you can ask them to check that location as well if you do not mind driving there to pick it up. We custom build. And this is our #1 place we enjoy going. Highly highly recommend.

Our first stop: Wilson's Farm. Located about an hour from us, this place had come highly recommended, so we figured it was worth the drive. Spoiler alert: it absolutely was. When we arrived, we were immediately struck by just how massive this place is. We're talking rows and rows (and rows) of plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, and greenery of every imaginable kind. If you've ever daydreamed about getting lost in a garden center, Wilson's is that dream -- in real life, with a Texas breeze and the smell of fresh soil. We wandered around for about thirty minutes, and I'll be honest -- we left empty-handed, but not because we didn't like what we saw. Quite the opposite. The selection is so extensive, we got completely overwhelmed in the best way possible. It felt a little like walking into a grocery store without a shopping list -- everything looked great, but we couldn't decide where to start. Do we want shade trees? Flowering perennials? That giant crepe myrtle that's definitely too big for our car but is calling our name anyway? What really stood out -- besides the sheer size -- were the prices. They were surprisingly reasonable. In fact, compared to some of the other nurseries we've visited recently, Wilson's offers some of the best prices we've seen. If you're working on a landscaping project and want to get the most for your money, this place is a goldmine. We didn't walk away with any plants today, but that was more on us than on Wilson's. We simply weren't prepared for the scale of the place or the number of options available. Lesson learned: next time, we're coming with a clear plan, a list, and maybe even some measurements -- because this is not the kind of nursery you casually browse. It's the kind of nursery you go to when you're ready to do work on your yard. In short: Wilson's Farm is awesome. It's huge, the prices are excellent, and the selection is just about everything you could want. Even though we left empty-handed today, we'll definitely be back -- next time with a cart, a plan, and maybe a little less wide-eyed wonder. If you're serious about landscaping -- or just love a good garden stroll -- Wilson's is 100% worth the drive. Just don't forget to bring your plant-nerd A-game!
