Gate installed by Allied a couple of years ago. I've been complaining about the noise since day one. Now it's so loud my neighbors are complaining about. There were red flags since the beginning. They made it a foot shorter that what I ordered, the gate fell sideways after a rain, and it was so hard to open it burned out two motors already. The owner finally stopped by today and told me he would have to charge me to fix it even though he is aware it was never right. Extremely rude guy. I would stay away from them. Not worth it, life is too short to have to deal with people like that. There are plenty of good companies out there. read more

I've truly never had as bad an experience with a contractor. Scheduled to do work this morning... I had asked office two times to send over a time when workers would arrive. They came around 8:30am when I was making breakfast for my two kids, who were home from school and my wife was traveling. They asked me to take them through the whole job... I had already walked through the job with the owner Adam a few weeks earlier and asked if Adam was coming to take them though it. They said he would be there in a few minutes and all seemed good. An hour later, the owner, Adam, shows up in a huff and is totally inappropriate in front of my children raising his voice and telling me I'm entitled and left his workers to do nothing. At that point, I didn't even realize he wasn't there and that they hadn't begun the work. He kept telling me I'm entitled-- my wife is in LA being tested for cancer, I'm currently on disability and I'm taking care of my two kids. Overwhelmed perhaps, but not entitled. He continues to act inappropriately in front of my children and my electrician who witnesses the whole thing and is similarly confused by his anger management issues. Finally, he points out that my kids aren't wearing shoes as if to accuse me of bad parenting and I told him to leave the property immediately. I apologized to his workers after he left for being in the middle of it and hope they find someone more respectful to work for. I see there are others here on yelp who have experienced this person's rude behavior so I'll leave it at that. I would avoid this company at all costs. read more

We had allied fence build 2 fences on our property and spent about $14000. Within 6 months front gate started having difficulty closing. Called multiple times ,always going to send someone but they never appear. Finally someone came out because gate closed better but still not correct. Lived with it for a few months but got worse and will not even close. Called over 5 times- Sometimes the person would say oh he didn't come out yet? Other times mailbox full. After 3 weeks I gave up and will call another company to fix. If you value someone who stands by their work then this company is not for you. read more

One of the workers from CLV Landscaping who were installing concrete pavers in my backyard discovered damaged wires to my sprinkler system that were set into the concrete mix surrounding the fence post on the right side of my front fence Allied Fence replaced. I contacted their office in Lompoc, CA telephonically and via E-mail. To this day, nobody from Allied Fence had the courtesy to return my phone calls, not to mention my Emails. I find it hard to believe that your workers did not notice the wiring to my sprinkler system when digging the post hole. It cost me several hundred dollars to repair the damage to my sprinkler system caused by the sloppy workmanship of employees of Allied Fence Company out of Lompoc, California. read more

In January, our fence was destroyed in that huge storm around New Year's. So, we contracted Allied Fence Co. to fix it. The owner himself came to inspect the fence and do our quote. I asked about the City code regarding 8 foot fences and he said it was no problem because our existing fence was 8 feet tall. Trusting his knowledge and experience, I allowed him to continue with the inspection. So he sent me the quote for an 8 foot, cedar fence which I forwarded to my insurance company. They in turn sent me a check for all but my deductible which I immediately cashed and paid to Allied Fence Co. who apparently does not take credit/debit cards. Well, they show up and build a beautiful fence that we later found out was pine, not cedar, and a few months later, the City cited me for having an 8 foot fence saying I have to cut it down to 6 feet or else. Allied said that the fact that they do not handle permit responsibility is in their contract. However, I did not sign a contract. We had a verbal contract that he could legally build me an 8 foot fence due to the fact that I had an existing 8 foot fence. I also have a quote for a cedar fence and was given a pine fence. He has been in business in Lompoc for a great many years. He absolutely knew the fence code and still submitted a quote for an 8 foot cedar fence to my insurance company, then built me a pine fence. Isn't this insurance fraud on his part? As if this isn't bad enough, I now have more to add to this story... On my way to work today, I ended up behind the owner of the company, Adam something or other, in his company car. It has Allied Fence Co. painted all over it. I had my sister, my husband and his service dog with me as they are heading down to LA today. Well, my sister is more upset about the whole situation than I am and she decided to flip him off as we passed him. The right thing to do? No. Funny? Yes. Well deserved by him? Absolutely. However, apparently he has a major road rage issue as he took it upon himself to attempt to run us off the road! He caught up to us, whipped in front of me and slammed on his breaks. Luckily, I was able to avoid running up his rear end as I whipped around his left side, narrowly avoiding a nasty accident. He then attempted to slam into the side of my car to run me off the road. Again, I was able to avoid him. Finally, he got back in front of me and tried to make me stop by making it impossible for me to pass him as he slowed down more and more, weaving from lane to lane. Again, I was able to get away from him. This is all being done on the highway between Refugio and El Capitan State Beaches on Hwy 101 IN TRAFFIC! The only reason he gave up was because I veered off on the El Capitan exit at the very last second. All this because someone flipped him off? Really?! I understand that she probably should not have done that, but there is absolutely no excuse for his actions. Someone could have been seriously hurt. Had I not had as much control of my vehicle and reactions as I did... I don't even want to think about it. And he did all of this in his company car. I will be absolutely certain to post this on every site I can. I will also be contacting my insurance company to report this and start a fraud claim. I don't have anymore room in my heart or my head to add this crap to my life, but apparently I no longer have a choice. So please, should you find yourself in need of a fence or fence repair, DO NOT use Allied Fence Co. read more

I've had occasion to work with this company twice now due to neighbor's preference and I would never recommend them to anyone. Owner of company is rude and condescending. He made a big deal about the inconvenience of driving out to SB from Lompoc for the job and proceeded to ask ME to measure the length of the yard saying something about a back problem. We had to go back and forth with the office on quotes several times before getting it right. Installers arrived late to start the job on the first day and did not know all the necessary details (height, style, location, etc.) that we had already discussed/agreed upon with owner/office. Overall communication and attention to detail between the owner/home office and installers seems very lacking, but once installers understand the scope of the project they are polite and professional! Shout-out to Santiago and Tony who were very accommodating during the most recent project! Quality of work is good once the job is completed, but getting to that point was a nightmare as I felt I had to micro-manage the whole time to ensure the job was being completed as expected and agreed by all neighbors. Once all was said and done and my invoice had been paid in full, the owner of the company tried to circle back around with an additional charge due to his mistake in measuring. I challenged him on this and he let me know he'd make the drive out from Lompoc to re-measure. He either figured out that it was indeed his mistake or decided that it wasn't worth while to haggle over an additional $50 because I never heard anything further. read more

Allied Fence just installed my 6 foot redwood fence 263 feet plus 2 gates. The guys did a great job, they cared about the work they were doing and it showed! A friend of mine in Lompoc needed a new fence, about 5 years ago now. She was very pleased with the work done by Allied Fence, and told me about it. Recently, we needed a new gate through to the back yard - between the house itself and a 'home-made' wall. A man, whose name I don't remember (sorry) came and fixed the gate we already had! It took very little time and was a reasonable price (no new gate!). I would recommend Adam Enticknap and Allied Fence to anybody. The gate now swings open or closed with one finger ... I love it! All workers, especially the owner is rude, insultful and impatient and it appears he has trained all his workers to be the same. Owner kept on referring to bigger clients he had to focus on. And after all the hassles the work is shoddy and not to our liking. First time I've written a YELP review and I'm doing it so someone does't have to go through what we just went through. They put up a wooden picket fence and dual gates with a solar operator at our new home in Santa Barbara and we couldn't be happier. Their estimate also beat out Fence Factory. His team is very knowledgeable and they are not afraid to ask questions to make sure that you get exactly what you want. They will also explain to you daily what was done and what is left to be done and go through everything with you so that you are an informed customer. Don't bother with getting bid after bid. My neighbor and I needed to have a 90 foot fence placed between our properties. It was going to be a bit tricky because we wanted a 7' fence and the prior owner of our neighbor's house had poured a cement footing up against the existing fence. Not only was the footing not straight, it had pushed against the fence so it was no longer straight. I called and met with 6 local companies. After meeting with Adam, the owner of Allied Fence Co., I was impressed. He made some great suggestions on how to deal with the problem areas. He also had some ideas to save us some money (we ended up using a treated 2x12 at the bottom so we could use less costly 6' boards to achieve our 7' height at a more reasonable price.) Allied Fence Company's bid was among the lowest and included the high quality materials I requested (con-heart redwood and metal Postmaster posts.) Allied was happy to provide addresses of local jobs they had done for us to look at examples of the quality of their work. Once we awarded the contract to Allied, I asked the owner Adam to come walk the project to ensure everything would go well. He was happy to do so. The project started 2 weeks later and couldn't have gone better. The installers, Tom and Anthony were hard working, efficient, and professional and did an outstanding job. We were asked our opinion at several points to ensure that unexpected issues that came up were resolved to our satisfaction. At the end of the project, everything was cleaned up and the lead installer Tom walked the finished project with us to make sure we were totally satisfied (and we were!) The day after the project, the owner contacted us to make sure we were satisfied with the project and to tell us that if we had any issues to contact him and they would make it right. I have to admit that I was dreading the actual project because I knew it would have some challenging aspects but my worries were unfounded... Allied Fence was great to work with, had a very fair estimate, a friendly and available office staff, a great installation team, and yielded a great finished product that not only looks great, but also looks like it will last for a very long time!
