Since I am a big guy, I would have to be fitted for a custom "rigid" brace. My surgeon wanted the brace fitted before I left the hospital. Michael and a helper came to my hospital room to "cast" my leg for the new brace. The process was very interesting and they conducted themselves with incredible professionalism. Unfortunately, due to the rush, the brace was not ready by the time I was released from the hospital so wore my Immobilizer home, the new brace would be delivered and fitted at my home the next day. What incredible service I received. I settled into getting comfortable wearing my new brace when I was up walking around in the house. A few days later I needed a couple of adjustments in the brace. We called, received an immediate appointment and headed over to their offices in Fort Worth's hospital district. Their offices are very inviting and comfortable and Baker has an incredibly caring staff. I am so glad my physician pointed us towards this company for my brace.

At my first appointment, my right foot and calf was cast in fiberglass. When I came back for my second appointment, my AFO was ready and the fit was fine tuned. You couldn't tell it was crafted by a skilled tradesman; it looks like something precision made by very expensive machines. Even better than the work: the personnel! Front desk staff are cheerful and busy getting things done, and Aaron, the resident who created and fitted my AFO, is the absolute best! Appearance, manner, communication skills, desire to help, and master of his trade - I have no complaints and DFW will be fortunate if he stays in this market. I would definitely recommend Baker O&P!

So, to not not take up room here with details, you will be sorely disappointed if you don't choose another company. They talk a good game, but do not keep their promises; make legs for you without finding out what you want, and; charge you money for items you either don't have or won't get for months. They will put you off for weeks with poor excuses. They are horrible.

My experience with the Hanger staff customer service was excellent. There is a receptionist who…read morewas friendly and a orthotic clinician, who is a knowledgeable and very funny guy. If this review was just about that they would get 5 + stars. However it is about the brace I received. It was a Townsend brace which stabilized my knee, relieving the pain I had. Initially it seemed fine, but then a screw came out. They scheduled me to come in right away to fix it. Then the brace began to squeak loudly. They scheduled me to come in a couple of days. The clinician made the adjustments to the brace and gave me some advise if the problem reoccurred. About 1 month later one of the straps came loose. I called to get it fixed and they told me they were totally booked, but I could bring it in and leave it to be fixed. Can you imagine that? I was prescribed the brace to stabilize my knee and to relieve pain, how feasible is it to think I could go without the brace for an undefined length of time. The receptionist offered no other resolution. I sewed it back myself. It's not perfect, but at least I can continue to use it. By the way the cost of the brace, which was charged to Medicare & my Supplemental Insurance was a little over $1,100.00. If this place is getting fees such as that, there should be enough to hire a person to repair these braces so as to accommodate the patients whom they service. Very disappointed!
