I just had my wedding and I felt compelled to leave a strong review. From the moment I first talked…read moreto Rishi I felt Silk events was a perfect fit for us. He understood right away what we were looking for and was very accommodating to our needs. We booked our DJ late in the process but felt that we were in good hands with Silk Events. You will see why people rate them so high. At the reception we had Reet and Sakshi. They really helped make it a special day. We had an Indian fusion wedding and they worked in an excellent mix of English, Hindi and Spanish songs. They were very well-prepared with our list of songs, and even did an impressive job working in a song for our parents without losing the crowd. They knew I was pickier with the songs so they made sure to ask if they had questions or if they had any recommendations, and the crowd loved their picks. I had multiple people, including one of my guests who is a DJ himself, tell me that Reet and Sakshi were phenomenal. Thank you so much guys!

This was our second wedding with this vendor and honestly it was worse than the first…read more The dhol player just left even though we'd arranged for him to keep playing inside the venue. The DJ said he'd escalate it to Rishi, but we never heard anything back or even got an apology. Setup was also a mess -- Rishi told us on our call they'd start around 7am - 7:30am, but when we got to the venue around 8am nobody was there yet. The DJ texted later saying he'd arrived, but that was well past 8. Because of this the Baraat got delayed and had to be cut short. Energy the whole time was flat. You could barely hear the music during the Baraat in our videos, and the DJ didn't really try to hype up the crowd at all. The monogram was another headache -- we were told 2-3 weeks and kept getting "don't worry, it's coming." We asked multiple times to see options before picking one, but instead we were basically forced into accepting the test version they sent over the day before the wedding, with no real chance to choose. I made basically the same design myself with AI in under an hour, so I don't know what the holdup was. On top of all that, communication was a constant struggle. We sent our song list with timing ahead of time and were still getting asked what to play and when on the actual wedding day. Overall one of the worst vendor experiences we've had, especially for a day that's supposed to be stress-free.

Sheer arrogance. The biggest disappointment was when he played the incorrect song for the Mother/Son dance. It was disappointing and embarrassing. This was a moment I have looked forward to for months, especially where this was my first son getting married. Again, when brought to his attention, he was arrogant and belligerent about it and tried to blame it on the bride and groom. The least he could have done was apologized for HIS mistake. My only positive is that people did dance all night long.

He was VERY rude to the entire Venue staff. We had multiple employees tell us that they have never met a vendor so rude and disrespectful. So much so that the Venue hopes to never have to work with him again. During introductions, he failed to mention the Groom's parents. When it was immediately brought to his attention, instead of just fixing his mistake by mentioning them, he said through the speakers "They are telling me I didn't mention the Groom's Parents but I know I did so I guess I'll do it again". Shortly after this, when it came time for the Mother/Son dance, he started playing the wrong song. When the Groom brought it to his attention, he immediately got defensive and put the blame on my Wife and I in front of over 175 people. This was a link that we sent to him months ago and he downloaded the wrong file. After a couple minutes of putting the blame on us, and having a few people try and talk sense into him, he corrected the issue with a death stare while my mother and I had our dance. I would not recommend this DJ to my worst enemy. The day was beautiful, and this "professional" put a damper on that by ruining the second most important dance of my life behind the first dance with my Wife.

Chief…read moreamongst which, is that our DJ was fluent in Polish and be familiar with certain cultural wedding traditions, as the bride's family is largely native Polish speakers. DJ Tommy Sands was our guy. When we first met with DJ Tommy, it was clear he was much different from the other DJs we'd met in the past. He had a great sense of timing events surrounding the wedding, and how to make things run smoothly. I'll never forget when he gave us a tip saying that no matter how much he encouraged people to dance, we as the wedding couple needed to lead by example. Boy was he right!! Whenever we danced, the floors filled, and it was hilarious to observe the effect. Throughout the night, DJ Tommy would show to be our guiding light. When times were a bit off from the schedule, he made thoughtful and insightful suggestions on how to shift things around and keep things running smoothly. His calm and positive attitude helped *us* remain calm and positive. He even managed to help us avoid the bride's mother who was being particularly difficult at times!

Let me start by saying that Marx Entertainment provided both DJ services and Photo Booth services…read morefor our wedding. We were very unhappy with the DJ but happy with the Photo Booth set up and staff. My husband and I had DJ Craig for our wedding in September 2023. We had two meetings with him beforehand were we discussed how we would like the night to run. In addition to a list of "must-play" songs (something we were encouraged to complete), we discussed how we would like our table-dash, anniversary dance, alumni photo, and private dance to operate. We also noted on multiple occasions during both calls that we DID NOT want a lot of remixes. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with how DJ Craig managed all of these aspects except for the table dash and private dance. Here is where our issues lie: - Out of our 30 or so must play songs maybe half were played. - As laid out on the Marx Entertainment website we chose a "last song" for the dance floor. DJ Craig played the song we designated as our last song as a way to open the dance floor. - The first 30 minutes were exclusively remixes and bad ones at that. It got to the point where we said something to DJ Craig, and while the music did get better, he still continued to play remixes. Honestly, a Spotify playlist would have been better. - The anniversary dance was something DJ Craig suggested and we loved the idea. However, instead of doing what he had described to us where he starts calling people off the dance floor after some dancing and starting with short time increments, DJ Craig called for anyone married for less than 5 years to leave the dance floor after approximately 20 seconds. People hadn't even REACHED the dance floor to start dancing at that point, including the parents of the groom. Not to mention we are a young couple and that kicked more than half of the people off the dance floor in one sweep. - College alumni photo was announced at a very weird time and very rushed. Just felt awkward - We were immediately asked once the lights turned on to provide a positive video review for DJ Craig. This was extremely uncomfortable and we gave dishonest feedback during it. We would NOT recommend him. Like I said previously, the Photo Booth staff was excellent and we loved the book they made us. We also had no issues with booking or prior communication with Marx. While the set up and logistical execution of the event went well we didn't feel our opinions were considered at all in song selection and that the fun mini-events we had throughout the night went poorly
