So, I scheduled appointments for my husband and I. On arrival, we were greeted sweetly by Dr. Afsari's staff. The secretary was efficient and kind, as was the RN. The paperwork was thorough and all pretty standard. On meeting Dr. Afsari, she greeted us with a genuine smile, handshake, and open ear. My husband and I both did a lot of talking and I really appreciated the fact that she asked to hear more from my husband - evidencing a clear dedication to her patients' concerns. She was open to discussion of a variety of topics and is obviously well educated when discussing her recommendations. I felt we both were completely listened to, not just heard, and she didn't rush us in the slightest. My husband and I both appreciated the fact that she is pleasantly conservative with medications and supportive of alternative therapies like herbal remedies and breath work. Too often I feel like we are rushed and forced into pill popping when finding a simple cause and making basic, healthy changes could be the better fix. Dr. Afsari was fully supportive of a need for more exercise and well-rounded diets, which is another excellent sign of a practitioner who cares about patient HEALTH vs. problem treatment. Though she was conservative with medications, she was responsive and open with diagnostic labs, tests, etc. and seemed to really want to find answers to our concerns. As an RN, I went in hoping she'd order a few things and she did that and more. She also didn't fall short on patient education, which others tend to ignore. Overall, I am thrilled to have met Dr. Afsari and am pleased to call her my primary care provider. It's nice to know my husband's in such good hands. I know when I go for my appointment next month that she will listen to me and work with me, appreciating my insight and adding her expertise. Thanks, Dr. Afsari!

It is painfully obvious that the organization as a whole is not concerned with the upkeep of the East Ave building. It is clean but without the amenities that some of the newer clinics have. For instance the air conditioner works only sporadically, and the ADA doors are not compliant when they work. However, the care I received there far out weighs the disappointments of the building and lack or parking. While the medical and dental departments work well, the care received by the Dentists was less than stellar. I did not experience care from the behavioral health unit, but I always heard good feedback about their care.

I was recommended by several co-workers who couldn't say enough good things about her practice. Unlike other doctors I have been to, I have never felt rushed or as though my concerns were not attentively acknowledged. I recently had a severe nerve damage issue and a heart issue that required repeated visits and neurologist/cardiologist referrals and Dr. Paul, NP Loudermilk, and their wonderful staff went out of their way to work with me, both making sure I got the care I needed as quickly as possible and that my referrals and procedures were covered by my insurance. The staff does document everything about your visit on a portal you can access to get all your medical information, while you are in the room. Personally, I don't take that as not listening...I see it as something beneficial to me later. It is usually very difficult to start as a new patient there...for good reason.
