    Cute creek, cute bridge.

Nelly and co were friendly from the start. The pool and gem sluice made this place a good recreation spot for our little one, and camping beside Switzer Creek made it restful for us. We didn't have the most private site, but moderate tree cover and the creek bubbling past were very nice. The creek appears to divide the campground in half but there are bridges throughout, including a cute covered bridge behind the camp store/laundry/pool, all of which were very clean. Enjoying the fire pit is easy since they deliver firewood directly to your site. There are wineries in the area, and some are super close, but this family-friendly campground allows no alcohol so use your party cup and don't act like a rookie. If you forget something the camp store has most staples--and video rental!!! If your camper has DVD, happy browsing. In all, a pleasant spot if you're passing through, or a decent spot to make a weekend of it. I'm betting it's gorgeous in Autumn.

Quick trip w grandkids we stayed in cabin by the pool. Check in easy n fast employees very friendly. Awesome store w lots of neccessary items. Pool was nice only 3 tables w shade for babies glad stroller had a canopy. only steps to get to the pool so had to manuever stroller down n up like 6 big concrete steps. We will stay again it was a peaceful lil campground.

My family brought our pop up camper here mid September. We checked in with some indifferent employees in the shop, and a guy on a golf cart escorted us directly to the site. It was a good size site, situated directly next to a small stream. Very scenic and good tree cover/shade throughout most of the grounds. Saturday throughout the day there were little events at the rec center - donuts and coffee at 10am, an ice cream social at 3pm - all of which were complimentary. The facilities, restrooms and grounds were as you would expect from a KOA campground - kept up, but maybe they could put a little extra in toward it. We had a good time over the weekend. We also made the hiking trail circuit - be ready for a steep hike! It takes about 30-40 minutes to complete, or at least it did for me. Very scenic forested path and at the end a cool tree fort and some views of the surrounding farms. Possibly could have had a four star rating, however I have to agree with some other Yelpers that the alcohol free rule was a bit perplexing. Although I absolutely certain many of the campers were indeed drinking alcohol. Also later into Friday and Saturday night, there was pretty good amount of noise, yelling etc. from people hanging out around their fires... I'm talking like 12:30am. Hot the end of the world, but would be nice if somebody drove around and kept an eye on that. Decent place. Give it a try for yourself.

Rented a cabin for three nights. The cabin was cute. But filthy. I understand it's camping and a cabin but the floors Should be cleaned at some point. There was only one ac in the two room cabin which kept it bareable. The store and arcade closes a few hours each day which was kind of a letdown. Overall the grounds were very mushy I guess because they are in and around a creek? The pool was nice, bathrooms ok. Once we got there realized there is no alcohol allowed which I think is absurd. I enjoy a beer by the campfire at the end of the day but couldn't do that here? When you walk out of the bathroom you almost trip on the cigarette posts where you can smoke. The worker was there one day smoking up a storm. So myself and daughter had to walk through a cloud of smoke to get out the door. Smoke all You want and disturb non smokers but don't drink a beer on your campsite. We ended up checking out a day early because I was sick of having black feet and socks from the floor of the cabin.

Very quiet and wooded. We backed up to a calm stream which doubled in size overnight after a thunderstorm. We loved it.

Check in: We were told that check in was between 2p.m-7p.m. Upon arrival there was only one staff at the camp store/front desk, she was on the phone with a guest making a reservation. I waited about 15 minutes and she finally checked me in. I got a map of the campground, the wi-fi password, trash bag, etc. Location: Lizard Creek is located about 20 minutes from Jim Thorpe. There is a Giant grocery store about 10 minutes away. Beltzille State Park is about 20 minutes. Cabin: Full service cabin. Queen size comfortable bed. Bedroom had a closet and 2 bunk beds. Plates, dish soap, paper towel, sponge, pots and pans provided. Full size refrigerator and microwave. There was a grill outside which we did not use, it was dirty, previous guest did not clean it. The TV was not working properly, the screen was not clear and the remote did not have working batteries. I brought this up to the front office lady who spoke to the owner. We were given new batteries but the screen was the same. The next morning, a new TV was installed. It worked great! The cabin had a table and chairs on the deck and a fire ring with 2 benches around it. The laundry room and the public restrooms were located in the building in front of the cabin. Bathroom: Good size, hot and cold water. No problems taking a shower or bath. Storage in bathroom. Overall, besides the long wait at check in, we had a good experience.

On the other hand, because of so much COVID-related isolation, quarantine and fear, it was refreshing to be in a place where that fear was not present. You could hear the laughter and jovial conversations of neighbors as well as children running and playing together. 1 big con for us was that the showers were only open 2 hours in the morning (9-11 AM) and 2 hours in the afternoon (5-7 PM). We wake up early and shower every morning before our 6 AM meditation but since the water was off in the morning we had to resort to "birdie bathing" in the sink. And even then, they did not turn on the water one afternoon and we were there waiting in the bathroom for 30 min until one of us finally told the employees to turn it on. They said that the person on duty must've forgotten...It was 5:30 by then. The limited hours is annoying, I would recommend extending them and also being punctual and responsible with turning the water on so that you don't have a bunch of dirty campers lined up outside of the bathroom to use the shower. Overall, the experience was positive and the environment was relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and it was a worthwhile visit because we had first-time campers with us. That being said, I would probably not visit again. Been there done that.

Great campground! Fun weekend!…read more We rented a cabin the Thursday before an especially stormy weekend. They had plenty of openings and since it was off-season we only paid $60/night for the smaller cabin. The place was mostly deserted due to the weather, but we had a great time. The bathrooms were spacious and clean. The pool looked excellent, but the weather prohibited our use. The location is a bit of a drawback if you're looking to hike in DWG. But it was about 35 mins from New Hope/Lambertville, and about 20 from Nockamixon State Park. So there is plenty to do in the area. The only complaint we had is minor- there was very little shade in the cabin site and the cabins were really close together. If there had been another family in the site next to us it would have been a little awkward. All in all an excellent find. I would definitely go again. But I think we only had as much fun as we did due to the lack of people on the grounds. So this is a biased 5-stars.
