I play here a couple times a year. The course layout is ideal for beginner and experienced golfers. The driving range distance is 150 yard max off of mats. Not ideal if you want to warm up your driver. Green fees are a bit too high for what the course is. The Pro shop is equipped with golf gear and accessories. read more

I have been golfing Allenmoore for a few years and thought it had always been a decent course for a decent price. Not only have the prices been raised (I paid $85 for 18 and a cart for noon on Friday). Not only is the course underwhelming for such a price but the maintenance man has a dog that ran at me when I was going to my ball literally by the cart path on hole 15 near the green. It sprinted at me barking and I got back to the cart and it basically got in there and was growling at me. I feel so fortunate I did not get bit. After about 20 seconds of it growling it runs onto the green and barks at my friend. Finally the maintenance guy comes out all chill and like "oh she's friendly don't worry." I couldn't believe the level of unawareness like he couldn't hear the dog barking and growling for over a minute. It ruined my game after that because it was honestly pretty terrifying so I was shaking. I go golf to relax and enjoy my time with friends but if I'm paying 85 and almost get attacked by a dog that is flat out ridiculous. I hope not to many other people have had to experience that but it should be taken care of immediately. Allenmoore needs to not let that dog out or chain the dog up. It is so foolish to have a dog like that next to the hole, just bc a dog has never bitten someone doesn't mean it's friendly. If it ever does though I'm sure there would be a lawsuit. Allen Moore is a heavily played public course, so fairway and tee box conditions can vary. They do maintain it well but it gets a lot of play so can be torn up at times. I rated them 4 stars because they do a good job of managing tee times and they usually will have a spot available short notice so you don't need to plan too far ahead to golf there. Additionally it's relatively cheap to play, the golf cart rentals are expensive but if you're walking you can save 20$. The club house has a pro shop and a full service bar and restaurant. read more

First time golfing here. The course was great and clean. They do seem unorganized as I had a booked tee time. They told me to wait 15 mins. The. I can back in 15 mins and they said I missed my tee time. There were like no golf carts and there was a waiting list. Even the employees were upset about it. We needed to rent clubs, they only had one set of men's clubs. The whole business seems very disorganized and no management running it. I would be careful if you need a cart or clubs because they might not have them. The restaurant was great. Not use to a full sit down. Usually use to normal golf course club houses where you walk up and get hot dog or burger or drink. read more

****WARNING**** ADA or Elderly They only have enough carts for the first 2 hours tee times. So even if pay ahead, ADA, Elks Club members they will not have any power carts. The staff was very unorganized and quite rude regarding the fact that they do not have enough carts. Love the course, just be ready to walk!! read more

Handicapped golfers warning if you plan on golfing this Winter. They currently are not allowing handicapped players to leave the cart path at all. Wasted $25 for a ride to the golf course today for nothing. read more

Just used the driving range. It is a little short, only 155 yards. Was good for practicing my irons.

I was invited to a retirement party here at the event center and I have to say I was impressed. It's a very nice open large room with a bar/kitchen area, a stage and a little bit of a view of the golf course. There was plenty of parking in the lot at the site and one level below the venue too. It seemed like a perfect venue for the celebration we had or any type of party, even a wedding. Jennifer, the site manager, and her crew did a wonderful job of making sure guests had everything they needed for an enjoyable time. I will recommend this place if asked for an event venue recommendation. We'll done Jennifer and Allenmore event center. read more

5 rounds in and I can't figure out why I don't love this place. Is it the poor quality of the greens? Maybe. The quality of slow play? Maybe. A determination to force people into foursomes and letting five + groups play? Maybe. I just can't say I love it. The location is great. The restaurant and staff are very good, but the course.....it just eludes me. read more

30 minutes to wait for a hot dog is insane. 1 waiter for the entire restaurant is bad course management.

Horrible, holes under construction. Couldn't play two holes when online they claimed they would have 18 open. I mentioned that when he said one of the holes was closed, failed to mention the second one was closed also. He just looked at me.. do not recommend and never coming back. read more

Well maintained course in Tacoma! Many trees line the fairways, but if you can hit the ball straight course wont raise too much of a challenge. I love the short iron range! If I lived closer to the area, I would spend a lot of hours on the range getting my wedge play to an even higher level. It's a great little practice area with two putting greens so you can always find space to roll a few before the round. Pretty affordable and a good track to play if you are looking for a dry course in the area. read more

Slowest course I've ever played. Waited at every tee box for 10-15 minutes. Just played a round that lasted 5 1/2 hours because they overbook and they don't enforce pace of play in the slightest. Was sitting on the 14th tee and a high school kid who was the marshal pulled up and asked "are they slow?" referring to the group in front of us and I answered yes and he said "dang, I told them to hurry up awhile ago but they aren't listening". He then drove away in the opposite direction. Most unenjoyable round I've ever played. Seriously. Will never go back. Neatly groomed course, very poor management. read more

A good local track, the course was in good shape yesterday considering all the rain lately. The pace of play was a little less than four hours and the beverage cart was around a number of times. The greens were a little slow, but, again, the rain would have prevented daily cutting. The design is interesting, with a number of long and short holes. Several holes have water in play with two ponds on the course. They only have a "irons only" driving range off mats. Fees are in line with other muni. read more

This is a very good golf course, the holes are very nicely done and I love the layout here. The prices, you can't beat, get a good round of Golf for under $30 if you book online, and depending on the time you want to play. The Restaurant they have is ok, not the best, not the worst- if your looking for a good public Golf Course in the Tacoma,WA area I would most certainly recommend this place. read more

"Country club greens at public course prices" - Uncle Larry Allenmore at the peak of the season is super well maintained and playable. An interesting mix of holes, some very short and some pretty long. The short holes offer some opportunities to really take a big number if you try to get greedy. What I really like about Allenmore? Trees! They have more variety of trees on this course than any other I have played in W. Washington including quite a few Weeping Willows. This course is like a park with golf holes. There are two practice greens and a "short iron only" range to warm up. There is a full bar and restaurant on the premises. I have played this course about 30 times in the last 20 years and it is one the highlights of my year just to be out there. (if is isn't raining) read more

This is a terrific golf course that is always in wonderful shape. Noted for it's excellent pace of play and greens that are always some of the best in the area. The green fees are a bargain for what your getting. We have golfed there many times during the past years and this summer they brought in a PGA professional to run the course and he and his team have made a positive difference. read more

The course itself is decent for a municipal course, and overall the fairways are very playable. The greens need some work. They're slower and less consistent than most local courses and the cups seem to have been changed when the ground was wet causing the 3-4 inches around the cup itself to pull up above the actual green level. Pace of play is also an issue. The marshals don't enforce pace of play and the tee times for groups of five aren't staggered. We ended up sitting on several tee boxes for 15 to 20 minutes (not counting any of the par threes) waiting for groups in front of us to get far enough down the fairway to even be able to tee off. We also saw several groups driving over tee boxes, across greens and even when we mentioned it to staff so the marshal would address it he never said a word to the groups. Just drove past them. If you're up for playing a 5 1/2 hour round maybe this is your place. read more

Allenmore Golf Course is my favorite public course in Tacoma. The Elk's lodge does a great job keeping the course up. It is literally kept 100 times better than Meadows Golf Course. Also the golf carts are well maintained. The golf marshals are nice and friendly. I have never had any problems. Plus Smoke and Cedar overlooks the course and it's great to stop in at the bar before or after playing. They also have a pro shop and a small food place downstairs by the course. The range is the only thing that could use improvements. It's very short range and you can only hit higher number irons on it. Overall, my favorite course in Tacoma. read more

The course is beautiful, the facilities are top notch, but I have rarely been treated so poorly in my life. The pro shop attendants and whoever takes care of the carts treated my friends and I like garbage. Will never golf there again. They are straight up assholes. read more

My friends I and believe Allenmore Golf Course could be the premier golf course in the greater Tacoma area. Love the greens, staff, layout and maintenance of this course although we would like to see a couple issues remedied. We have played behind too many folks that were allowed to hold up an entire course... On several occasions this has been an issue. Unfortunately we would skip a hole or two to pass them. On more than one occasion we have played in a fivesome or foursome walking and waited an uncomfortable amount of time. We would see the marshal and remind him "there are at least two open holes in front of them" and nothing happened. We could actually see him go by without saying a word! The only other issue would be the hospitality girls riding up on us. We realize they are new, but a minimum amount of training would ensure more appropriate course etiquette. Several of us were over twenty year members at Madrona Golf Course and moved our memberships to Allenmore this year after the new owner of Madrona fired almost everyone. We really want to see Allenmore prosper and believe it is very close to the best course to play in Tacoma. read more

I used to play this course about twice a week and its a well maintained course but last time i went it was packed and i mean packed 15 people waiting on hole 2.Asked if i could just get a refund cause i only played one hole..Nope...ended up playin 9 holes and it took 3 hours and 15 min..Its amatuer hour there save yourself the time and go somewere were u can actually play read more
