Our initial negative review regarded Brian emailing us our fee agreement (to represent us) in which his retainer fee increased 500%. (from $500 to $3000) When he sent the fee agreement he did not volunteer an explanation regarding the substantial increase in fees. I replied and kindly asked him to please explain the increase in fees as well as to express my desire to still hire him after the fee discrepancy had been reconciled. His response to that email also did not provide any explanation for the fee increase. He replied instead that he, due to taking on "some rather large clients," no longer had "the time to devote to your matter." Subsequently my wife posted our initial negative Google review commenting on the fee increase. Brian then threatened us with a demand letter via email threatening a $75k lawsuit if we didn't remove the review within 24 hrs. Upon updating our review with information clearly stating his threats he sent a following amended demand letter via email increasing the suit to $150k. In the amended demand letter email he suggested that we "retain counsel to defend yourselves." We have done exactly that.

By Joseph Mas I worked with Kelvin Roquemore of Roquemore…read moreSkierski on a complex partnership dispute during a major professional transition. I specifically searched for a Texas attorney who focuses on partnership and shareholder disputes and chose Kelvin because his background aligned directly with this type of business litigation. Early in the engagement he helped craft my resignation letter. The language and structure he recommended later became pivotal as the matter progressed. This early strategic positioning set the tone for the entire engagement. Kelvin quickly absorbed a large volume of historical documents and years of business context in a short period of time. That rapid understanding of the history and legal landscape created immediate confidence. Communication was direct, timely, and collaborative. He consistently made space for my perspective and ensured my position was understood before moving forward. Strategy always aligned with my goals and long term considerations. I have worked with hundreds of attorneys across business environments. Very few operate as true strategists. Kelvin consistently approached the matter as a strategist rather than a technician and planned several moves ahead. When the case required transition to Delaware Chancery Court, Kelvin helped identify and vet specialized Delaware counsel and coordinated a fast, smooth handoff. The collaboration between teams felt tightly aligned and highly organized. He remained involved as a sounding board and advisor throughout the remainder of the process. Opposing counsel brought decades of experience in complex business disputes. Kelvin remained methodical, focused, and confident throughout. The matter concluded successfully and sooner than originally projected. This experience was a major professional turning point, and having steady and strategic legal guidance made a significant difference in how I was able to move forward. Kelvin Roquemore is a founding partner of Roquemore Skierski with more than 25 years of experience in complex business litigation. He is a Tulane Law graduate and former Fortune 500 senior counsel. He is also active in community service, youth mentoring, and local nonprofit initiatives. Even after the case concluded he remained in touch as a trusted advisor. He is someone I strongly recommend to Texas business owners facing partnership or internal business disputes. Even beyond legal representation, he is someone worth knowing.

After months of spinning my wheels looking for a law firm in the Dallas area, and there seemed to be hundreds, one of my professional friends suggested Burch Law. I googled Burch Law and saw that its advertising wasn't the usual cookie cutter advertising that most firms use. It was colorful and inviting. Burch Law stood out from the rest of the pack ... with it's flying red horse logo and great video clips from Lorie Burch explaining what her firm offered without using a lot of legal mumbo jumbo. I called and made an appointment. Since I live near the Burch Law offices I called and made an in-person appointment. I met Melyssa and she explained how the Burch Law team would work with me to create a personalized estate plan. She was great! No pressure, just the information I needed to make an informed decision. Having Burch Law draw up my estate plan was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. I am very impressed by their attention to detail; I had a team with whom to work. A great lawyer, Struti, a great case manager, Sam, and of course Melyssa who I first met. I felt very supported throughout the process. Another thing that really impressed me was when I'd message a question that it was promptly answered. Burch Law continues its support even after the papers have been signed and notarized. It's a wonderful feeling knowing my estate is fully protected and that I have a team to call with any future questions and/or needs. BTW I wholeheartedly recommend Burch Law for your legal needs.
