I needed to have my estate plan completely updated. I wanted to work with a progressive law firm whose values reflected my own. After months of spinning my wheels looking for a law firm in the Dallas area, and there seemed to be hundreds, one of my professional friends suggested Burch Law. I googled Burch Law and saw that its advertising wasn't the usual cookie cutter advertising that most firms use. It was colorful and inviting. Burch Law stood out from the rest of the pack ... with it's flying red horse logo and great video clips from Lorie Burch explaining what her firm offered without using a lot of legal mumbo jumbo. I called and made an appointment. Since I live near the Burch Law offices I called and made an in-person appointment. I met Melyssa and she explained how the Burch Law team would work with me to create a personalized estate plan. She was great! No pressure, just the information I needed to make an informed decision. Having Burch Law draw up my estate plan was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. I am very impressed by their attention to detail; I had a team with whom to work. A great lawyer, Struti, a great case manager, Sam, and of course Melyssa who I first met. I felt very supported throughout the process. Another thing that really impressed me was when I'd message a question that it was promptly answered. Burch Law continues its support even after the papers have been signed and notarized. It's a wonderful feeling knowing my estate is fully protected and that I have a team to call with any future questions and/or needs. BTW I wholeheartedly recommend Burch Law for your legal needs. read more

When we needed to update our estate plan, we chose Burch Law, and we are so glad we did! The entire team is professional, efficient, and effective. Their price is competitive with other firms that specialize in this area, yet the service is more thoughtful, thorough, and personal. We got all the legal end-of-life documents that really need to be done in advance. More important, we got the sense that our needs were anticipated, we were valued and cared for, that we have a partner who is expert in this area and has got our back. That is worth more than you can imagine when it becomes necessary. I didn't have this kind of help when my Mom passed, and I had to manage her estate, wrap up her affairs, probate the will, and all this other stuff that everyone has to do but nobody wants to do or (at least in my case) knows how to do. Our kids won't have to worry about it when the time comes. Thank you, Lorie, and the rest of the team at Burch Law! read more

Regarding probate court: This space cannot contain enough of my case to really flesh out my complaints. So, I will just say, in my experience and opinion, you can expect to pay thousands more than they tell you, you can expect poor communication, pathetic performance, and pitiful results. Well over 18 months to get into probate court. Seriously, you should choose someone else. read more

The legal team was professional, supportive, affordable, and extremely thoughtful! I was warmly greeted by Marcel and the team upon arrival. All of my documents were ready to sign and I was done in less than 30 mins. read more

I have used Burch Law for a number of years and have never been disappointed. The attorneys and staff are courteous and respectful, they are patient with my questions and explain everything thoroughly. The prices are reasonable and no one at Burch Law tries hard sales techniques. They ask what you want and then design the appropriate legal documents to achieve what I want. read more

Highly recommend, very efficient and knowledgeable. We were very appreciative of the patience Lorie and her team gave us while we had several obligations come up that kept us from scheduling our signature appt. Thanks to Lorie and her team for all your help! read more

I was pretty underwhelmed with the quality of service when I had my commercial lease reviewed here. I was expecting the lawyer to have thoroughly reviewed the lease and tell me their thoughts/concerns paragraph by paragraph. When I arrived, it seemed like she just gave it a brief look and was asking me what to specifically look at (I am a new business own so I don't know). I've since asked a different lawyer and it was everything that I expected (redlines under each paragraph where he explained the verbiage and if he had any concerns/suggestions for me) read more

Found Lorie on Yelp when looking for an estate planning attorney. After our consultation with her and some other prospects, we felt confident and at ease with Lorie and her team. They help set up a trust, transfer properties, POA, living will and got us everything we need. The price was fair and communication was great. Once things were completed, we noticed one of the properties was left out of the transfer. A quick message to her and they handled it without hesitation. I would recommend Burch Law for all your estate planning needs. read more

We just finished working with Burch Law to help us create a trust for our family and a series LLC. We are a relatively new family and knew it was time to make some of the important decisions about our health, wellbeing, finances etc. Estate planning has been something we have been thinking about for some time but hadn't gotten around to doing because my wife and I both work full time and raising a child during COVID has had its obvious challenges... We are very glad we chose the Burch Law firm as Lorie and her team were very helpful and informative, she provided a free consultation to help us figure out what our actual needs were and presented us with options that fit our unique situation and took the time to answer all the questions we had. They made the process easy to understand and the cost was very reasonable for the services provided. I strongly recommend Burch Law for estate planning and the creation of LLCs for asset protection. Thanks! read more

Bad communication and odd level of intensity regarding asking some pretty innocent questions regarding their very vague billing. Moving somewhere else. Also oddly political in that "everyone who doesn't agree with us is a biggot" kind of way that everyone loves. read more

Burch Law makes it really easy to set up your will and trust. In your first meeting you get all the answers to questions you didn't know you had. They then provide a questionnaire covering all everything you discuss in the meeting. Once you complete that, they send you draft documents. I got my drafts in under 2 weeks. The drafts have highlighted sections which are for reviewing the information you provided to them. You have an opportunity to request updates and ask other questions about the drafts. They respond very quickly to ensure your needs are met. Once you are ready, you set up an appointment to sign. They take care of the notary and witnesses. If any of my friends or family are needing wills or trusts, I will definitely be recommending Burch Law. read more

Lorie has all these 5-star ratings for a reason! As Henry says in one of the reviews, "LORIE is amazing". So my special 100'th Yelp review is for Lorie. No one is more deserving or amazing. Lorie has done a wonderful job preparing our wills. My wife and I could not ask for a better attorney. She has been professional, totally competent, and easy to work with while drafting our wills. So if you are looking for the best estate planning attorney in Dallas, then give Lorie a call. read more

I wanted to take the time to write a note of gratitude and thankfulness to Lorie Burch for her invaluable help with my Uncle's estate. My case was a bit unique since I didn't live in the local Texas area and many other details of my specific situation. Before I spoke to Lorie, I spoke to five other female lawyers. Some had a specific approach; some quite didn't know how to go about it but was trying to figure it out while talking it over with me however on my sixth phone call, I was delighted to hear Lorie's concise game plan which *did not* involve a lengthy and expensive probate unlike the previous five. With that, my decision was obvious! She was not only thorough in her approach, but also extremely professional and lastly, she had a human touch that makes you feel like not just another client. To that I am eternally grateful. My hats off to you Lorie! Warmest regards, Lori Mabunga read more

I have know and worked with Lorie Burch for 15+ years. She is top of the charts for trust and competency. I wouldn't go to anyone else for legal advice. Estates are not easy to handle. You need an expert and Lorie is the only referral I would make. read more

Well - Lawyers, accountants and the tax man.. beware!!! Lorie is in town and she is gonna change the standard to which you have to do your job! Lorie was incredible when I went in to get my Will done as well as all of the other things that have to go along with that. She is thorough and does it in a pretty quick time frame. She was willing to work with me and the legal program I have through my employer too. Lorie gives you advice and names of other people you should have on your team ( Tax Accountants, Financial Planners) and at the end of the day, she is just one of those really nice genuine people who is passionate about what she does and she does it in the best interest of YOU! Last night she held a FREE Retirement, Taxes and Estate Planning seminar!! There was catered in food and NO sales pitch! Can't wait for the next seminar she does! read more

Going through the process of getting a will, medical power of attorney, and other basic documents was a dismal 5-months for us that began and ended with a series of off-putting rules. Don't come to the office unless you have an appointment, are vaccinated, masked, and sit in your chair behind a screen. At the end -- come to the office to sign your documents, but you may not ask questions. The day (and only time) we actually saw our real lawyer, she did not introduce herself nor did she ask us to do the same. She just started talking about possible legal packages available. Once we made our decision, she left the room, and we never saw her again. Although they post that they have office hours daily, our phone calls went to a machine and were seldom answered until the next day. We asked for a personal meeting mid-way through the process to clarify trust sections we were not familiar with, and that request was denied. They told us to submit our questions via email. If you are looking for a legal team that is engaged with your needs, this is not the place. read more

Lorie is excellent at what she does and in probate law for all of the right reasons. She truly cares. Highly recommend.

I do not recommend this firm. I see many others have had a good experience here. I could not even get in the door. I had a need for a will and trust and had a few phone calls with this office and scheduled an in person consultation. I am a very busy working person myself and had to carve out time and wait 2 weeks for the appointment in the future. They contacted me about my Mon appt on Fri and wanted some info entered on their website over the weekend. Try as I might I could not get the website to work, it would not accept any password I put into it despite meeting the standard. So today early they texted, no phone call, and just cancelled my appointment that I have scheduled an early day from work to make. I have called the office and nothing. So they have already cost me money. I amback to zero on getting a will done for myself and my time and money have been wasted. Poor experience, very unprofessionsl office. read more

This review is long overdue but very well deserved. I was looking for a compassionate and competent firm that would be patient, professional, timely, and reasonable with costs. Working with Lorie and Kimberly on getting my will done made an unnerving process tolerable. They listened and responded to my individual needs. Lorie made sure that I understood the process, and everything that I signed thoroughly. She met her time commitments, and communicated with me throughout the process so I never had to wonder what to expect next, and for that, I am grateful. Integrity means a lot, and these ladies get it right! Job well done-- Thanks to you both. read more

Lorie made what could have been a depressing experience into an amazing one! She helped us walk through every document, explaining everything we would need and why. She made us feel at ease and reassured with the decisions we put in place regarding our children. She answered all of our questions/concerns and we even left the office laughing. We had used another lawyer in the past and had sworn to never go back. Thankfully we found Lorie! I have referred her to many of my friends and even strangers!! You won't be disappointed. read more

We were really pleased with Lorie understand of the law, recommendations, and general ability to assist us. She is fantastic.

Lorie was amazing in helping my husband and I with our estate planning. We found her at a free lecture she was giving at our kids' sports organization. She gave us so much to think about that we decided to set up our estate for our young kids sake. She leaves no stone unturned and gave us the confidence that our kids are protected in the event that one or both of us passes away. I cannot tell you how much piece of mind it is knowing that my estate is in order and my wishes are protected so that my husband would not have to worry about it and vice versa. She even set a plan in place for our social media and electronic accounts so that people can legally get access to those after death. She has thought of everything!!! Wonderful lady and best money my husband and I ever spent on an anniversary gift! read more
