I'm going on 3 months( you read this right, 3 MONTHS) no cold air in our house. He did bring a portable unit but it's only good for 1 room. Completely unacceptable as a business. I'm not pulling this down because it's ridiculous for a customer to have to go through what we've been through in 2 years with a brand new unit. We've had to go a step further with this issue. I'm to the point I can't get upset anymore.

Our AC conked out on us in 95 degree weather yesterday (Friday 7.17.15). I called the normal place…read moreI use every year and they scheduled to come out that day. I told them I'd be away from home at a certain time and asked them to come out before or after that time. Well they call me DURING that time and tell me they are on their way. I am an hour away from home and can't get back. They ask can they reschedule for MONDAY and I tell them NO! We endured the heat for the night, sweating like pigs in a slaughter house. We've got ceiling fans and big desk fans blowing all over the house, but it does absolutely NO GOOD, it's just too humid. I didn't even cook dinner, it was too damn hot! This morning (Saturday) I wake up and my husband is dragging around like a wet sloth, so I decide to call someone else to see who had the best prices and could get out NOW! Called 3 places and one wanted $98 just to come to my house, plus $120 per hour (which they'd probably been dragging their @$$ for at least 3) plus the cost of parts/labor/freon. I get a call back from Dana Wright's and the guy quotes me a reasonable price. Problem was he was booked for the day. He took my address and discovers he's gonna be out this way ANYWAY so he came by, fixed my AC and I paid less than the cost of the other guy showing up! My old AC guy is TOAST! YOU'RE FIRED! Dana Wright's just got a new customer!

He had to return when he could fix properly and he was very professional. Scott even gave me a warranty for 2 years on the service that he did and didn't charge me an arm and a leg for what was done. The warranty was what surprised me most all. Then the billing was made simple also. He sent me an invoice attached with the different options on how to pay. Super friendly and very easy to deal with. Michael, one of the owners, arrived and began a systematic examination of our system, which is 15 years old. In short, we had overly restrictive filters that were clogged and were low on refrigerant. Michael explained that we would need to monitor the system for the next couple days to make sure these repairs had corrected things. He provided his personal cell number in case I had questions or problems. In short, AAC gave prompt, polite, professional service for a reasonable price. I highly recommend AAC to anyone needing repairs or a new system.

Called two other…read morecompanies before Harmon Mechanical, and both sent a tech out, poked around for less than 30 minutes, declared the system "working properly," and left. Meanwhile we're standing 6 inches from the vents trying to convince ourselves we feel something. Parker at Harmon Mechanical was the first person to actually treat "the unit is technically fine" as an unacceptable answer. He spent hours on our system -- not minutes -- and when he hit a wall, he didn't shrug and bail, he called in his boss Forrest, to dig deeper with him. That's the difference between someone doing a job and someone solving your actual problem. End result: we now feel airflow several feet from the registers instead of having to put a hand right up on them. One year, three companies, and Harmon Mechanical is the only one that fixed it. They've got a customer for life as long as we're in Auburn. If you're dealing with an HVAC system that "checks out fine" but somehow never actually cools your house, call Harmon Mechanical. When it's July and the AC is struggling, you are willing to pay a premium but they were priced fairly and I feel good about what I paid and the quality of work I received. They are who I will trust going forward.
