Here you can see the freeway, Call for Help box, bench, elevators, and station platform

I'm first to review the train station of my Southern Californian life!... *wells up with tears* I have taken this train back and forth nearly every single weekday since September. The Gold Line itself is punctual, clean, comfortable, and efficient. It runs very frequently during rush hours. Everyone I know has felt comfortable on the Gold Line, unlike some other Metro lines out there. The people going Gold are good citizens and friendly folks. The Allen Station is well maintained, has two (slow) working elevators, a well lit staircase to take you to the freeway-adjacent station, and a couple of machines to buy your ticket. I've never had to wait in line to use them as this station is relatively not too frequented. It's a little windy up top since it's right on the freeway, but there are enough benches and shade to get a respite from the sun or protection during inclement weather. I am a Gold Line loyalist and this is my home station, a couple blocks from my place. =) Very thankful for it. 25 minutes to Union Station beats rush hour on the 110 or 210 any day for $1.50. There is ALWAYS an available seat at Allen Station. So sit back and relax... ^_^

This station has to be monitored. You get into the elevator and people have peed all over it. Both of them. On the outside of them as well. You go upstairs to wait for the train and see the homeless there drinking. This is horrible to have feel uncomfortable and not safe when you're trying to get home.

A very cool and clean station that puts you at the cross section of N Allen Ave & E Maple St in Pasadena CA right off the 210 Freeway. Just be aware that this location doesn't seem to be a park-n-ride location so you can't leave your car here and if you're trying to meet someone here you might need to get picked up or dropped off curbside under the 210 overpass.

Only 3 for 2 main reasons. #1, there is no way to park your car, I can use this station because it's in walking distance (30 min) from our house. If you have a car, you have to go to the station in Sierra Madre #2, the train stops at the end of the station (West, if you go to downtown LA), you better move your a$$ there before the train rolls in, otherwise you have to run. And of course, that's the only area without a roof, what great engineering. So, in case of rain, bring shampoo, you will be wet enough

I would like to be able to write more about this stop but my experience just wasn't that extensive. I was in San Gabriel and remembered how my daughter has always wanted me to go to Au79 for their Lavender tea (with milk and aloe). As i bus and goldline everywhere (im disabled), i figured a route that would get me there and once done (the tea was good) i walked a scant 15 minutes to the Allen Station and barely made the train. It is cool how the station is suddenly "there", unexpected in a way no other station exhibits. I cannot explain it but in my haste the entrance and everything subsequently reminded me of a Pacific Island. I never felt afraid there and the place was decently clean.

I've been taking the gold line to work for 2 months now. My first impression was a good one, clean train, fairly open station with no crowds, very relaxing. I am not a huge fan of the open layout of the station (the wind has been quite cold at times in Jan-Feb. The people riding the train seem to be every day working folks. I'm seeing familiar faces day in day out now. Once in a while there will be a weirdo on there, talking to himself, playing music on a guitar or spilling his coffee all over while falling asleep (you know who I'm talking about). But hey, this is LA metro area, kind of have to get used to it. To sum it up, if you're looking to avoid the traffic and actually spend your morning relaxing vs working out your foot accelerating and breaking every 2 seconds - take the gold line. You won't regret it. I'm saving gas money, and for me the ride is free (I just asked my employer to cover the monthly cost of $75 .. I think it's $75).

Great time whenever i don't feel like driving i take the Gold Line at Allen and the train is always so clean and it stops every ten minutes..

We are looking at a great traffic flow going on and passing us by at many different miles an hour!

No wedding is perfect!…read more When my wife and I were planning our big day, the biggest piece of advice everyone gave was to understand that every wedding is fraught with at least 1 complication; the best thing to do was anticipate and be ready to adapt. I feel more than fortunate saying that the only "snafu" of our wedding day was our transportation situation. We got married in Malibu and as there are no hotels in the area, we reserved hotel rooms in the Westlake area. My wife's family generously made a shuttle available to provide transportation for all guests staying at the hotel to the venue and back so there would be no issues regarding driving before or after the festivities. My wife also wanted to plan a fun surprise and have all the groomsmen and bridesmaids travel together, then use the bus as a hang-out for the groomsmen while the bridesmaids got ready/did their last minute touch-ups at the venue. The problem really was a domino effect from an initial horrible mistake and our transportation situation went downhill from there. The bus driver who was instructed to pick up the groomsmen from one hotel ended up picking up a few families (women and children included) from that hotel instead, going to the next hotel to pick up more families, then started on its way to the venue. About 15 after we were expecting to see our driver for the groomsmen party, the mother of the bride began calling the company and they continued to say "she was 10 minutes away"... they kept saying this. Only 30 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time for the groomsmen, did the driver arrive, drop off all the guest she had accumulated at one hotel, and then proceeded to pick up the groomsmen and then the bridesmaids. She then go the directions wrong on the way to the venue and did not know where the venue was. From her actions, the main shuttle carrying all hotel-staying guests was also 30 minutes late. Finally, the company was responsible for picking up individuals from the venue to take them back to the hotel, and showed up and left 10 minutes earlier than the originally planned time for pick-up without making any notification to any wedding coordinator. This left approximately 30 guests waiting about 1.5 hours for the next shuttle, and forced the best man and several groomsmen to get an uber as the last shuttle was too full as a result of extra guests it needed to accommodate. When my wife's family called to ask why everything had gone so terribly wrong, the company stated that there was no coordinator at each location to usher people accordingly (which was never discussed before hand... and I mean really - if you're picking up "Groomsmen" dont you think woman & children should be your first clue that something is not right). The company offered a menial discount to the total bill as a means for compensation. Overall, this was really the only fiasco of our wedding, but was the most stressful part of our wedding... ultimately taking time away from both families to spend with loved ones.

If you are looking for a reliable, comfortable stay in East Pasadena near Lamanda Park with easy access to California Institute of Technology and major roads into Los Angeles, this hotel is a great option. I was in town visiting Caltech and wanted a hotel that had truck parking, a hot tub, a laundry room, and strong cleanliness standards. The Best Western Pasadena Inn met all my needs, exceeding expectations. First off, the area is clean and safe, allowing me to feel comfortable compared to some locations in LA. I also loved the rooms, which are large and clean with fridges and some of the fastest wireless internet I have seen for Zoom meetings. It allowed me to work without stress. Huge accolades for the pool and hot tub. The hot tub was clean and actually hot, unlike some hotels where the water is lukewarm. I also appreciated the staff here because they are very friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. If you enjoy having a wide selection of TV channels, this hotel definitely delivers. They do have a free breakfast, which is a nice added value, especially if you are heading out early for the day. The guest laundry room is also very convenient and a major asset for longer stays or road trips. Overall, I absolutely love the Best Western Pasadena Inn and will gladly stay here again, even if it means driving into Los Angeles, because I know this hotel delivers consistent, dependable quality.

That made things kind of hard for us because I had to be at work at 7:00am and we would have to move all of our belongings out. Then, when we would return, we would be checked into a different room. This kind of pushed us out of our element because I'd have to Spring clean the room all over again to make it comfortable for me and my family. Although, the bedding was clean, we would throw a clean sheet on top of the motel bedding and then sleep underneath our own personal blankets and on top of our own personal pillows. The managers, George and Davi were always very helpful and assisted me with clean sheets and towels to make us feel comfortable. The women desk clerks always courteous and treated me and my family kind. I've never seen any pests in any of the rooms we stayed in. The property was quiet and always felt safe. If any strange guest booked there, after any suspicion, they would be kicked out immediately and management would activity close the security gates and monitor the premises. I highly recommend this motel for families who need long term stays that offers reasonably low weekly rates. As long as you're a clean resident and clean up behind your pets, I don't think they will mind guest with pets. We had two shih Tzu miniature dogs and they were potty trained and we always kept our room nice and clean during our stay here.
