ELEVATED SLANTED PARK (4.5 stars)…read more I love this park! Dog friendly but not specifically a dog park. A lot of people lay out and picnic. The views are amazing - you can see downtown and the beaches. There is a parking lot but it can get packed. Once a year they do a music event here. Summers it's packed. I've had picnic here with friends and they love the view and park. I've had lazy chill days here with my dog and we enjoy the scenery. Cool park!

The Dolores Park of San Diego…read more I found this place during COVID and have been coming ever since. If you're looking for a birthday hang, a picnic date, a sunset spot, a place to read, chill with your pup spot, or make some art, this park has you covered. It's the perfect spot for any occasion. The views are breathtaking and the vibe is super laid‑back. There are always plenty of people around, so it feels like one big community hang. If you're lucky, you might even catch someone DJing or playing music everyone can enjoy. They also offer community yoga classes here -- I haven't signed up yet, but it's nice to know it's an option. The park is pretty steep in some areas, so you might need to walk around a bit to find a flat spot where you're not sitting at an incline. I'd recommend bringing chairs, blankets, and any shade essentials you might need since there aren't many tree‑shaded areas. Parking is tough and the bathrooms are your typical not‑so‑great public park bathrooms, but don't let that stop you from experiencing the best park in San Diego.

The location is stunning, right along the water with incredible ocean scenery, dramatic cliffs, and plenty of spots to sit and take it all in. On a clear day, the views are unreal and it really does feel like a postcard version of Southern California. That said, it is extremely crowded. Between tourists, families, photographers, and people stopping to watch the seals and sea lions, it can feel packed, especially mid day and on weekends. Parking can be challenging and the constant foot traffic takes away a bit from the peaceful, relaxing vibe you might be hoping for. If you don't mind crowds or are visiting for the first time, it's still 100 percent worth seeing. Just be prepared for lots of people and limited personal space. Go early in the morning or closer to sunset if you want a slightly calmer experience. Beautiful park, incredible views, but the crowds knock it down to four stars.

I wasn't aware that this place was here, but I had just finished an appointment in the area and figured I'd check it out. Glad it did. I found a table to do some writing and update my planner. There is also a playground for the kiddos. I came during a busier time in the late afternoon so parking was busy, but there was always someone leaving so snagging a spot wasn't too much of a hassle. Nice place to relax!

This park is a quiet outdoor space in the heart of La Jolla Colony for the sole use of the Colony's residents and their guests. The park is a peaceful retreat between I-5 and University City. This park was not off limits when all city parks were ordered to closed since it is a private community park. There's is no obvious entrance sign to this park. The differences in quality are glaring when comparing this privately maintained park and most other City of San Diego parks. The grass here is perfect. The equipment is in good shape for being constantly exposed to the elements. The trees are well maintained. Everything is clean. One day I noticed a wooden post and railing was repaired in less than 2 days! The lawns are very spacious and the track that runs around the perimeter is great for jogging and walks. There are also many exercise "stations" along the track. Most of which are rarely used. I think that's mainly because a lot of these stations are somewhat unnecessary (arbitrary stretching, odd exercises, etc). I just wish they had more pull-up bars.
