After a 2-1/2 hour flight, we landed and were allowed to deplane. Punta Gorda Airport isn't a large airport and doesn't have traditional gates or skyways used in larger airports. When you deplane at PGD, it's open air and you walk inside. My complaint is this, they parked the aircraft over 300 yards from the terminal. Why? There wasn't another aircraft in sight. They said the plane was staged for tomorrow's flight. I say "Shenanigans." They move aircraft all the time using tow bars. Making us walk is unacceptable. I have a bad knee and I didn't appreciate being forced to marched for their convenience. Customer service isn't just what happens before or during the flight, it's also how we're treated once we've arrived at our destination. Allegiant dropped the ball on this flight. read more

Flight canceled twice. Choose an option: 1) re-book in a couple days (when they fly again) 2) "refund" the flight -- it's a link to a VOUCHER (which deducts a fee as if you willingly no-showed or canceled to the flight). 3) call the number listed where you hang on hold. This is beyond bad business. It's completely unethical to strand someone, make zero effort to re-book them, and then hold them hostage over a refund. I ended up doubling the price of the trip to re-book on Delta. Absolutely abysmal experience with Allegiant. read more

We paid 140 for seats up front....we get on, the flight attendant rudely says not to put our luggage in a bin caddy corner from our seats....she takes them and places them behind us....what the heck is the point of paying for your seat!!!!! read more

Absolutely not! Second time we have picked people to only sit and wait for hours! They drop the passengers off outside and down a ramp. If there is lightning just prepare to sit on that plane for hours. And I do mean hours!! If you're lucky enough to get off the plane then you have to wait for your luggage. NO luggage comes off the plane until there is no lightening for 30 minutes. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE works if it lighting. So you sit and wait. I have been waiting this time for almost 3 hours, yes that's 3 hours and I can image we have another 45-60 minutes more to wait. Now you think ok go get something to eat because your off the plane but your luggage is still being held captive. They actually threaten passengers not to leave without their luggage. Love Allegiant Airlines. Found this airport (Punta Gorda) when we moved to Florida. Just so happens that this airline flew to the places we wanted/needed to travel to. Ashville, Allentown and Columbus. Prices are crazy cheap, but it's not a cheap airline. The planes are Boeing 737s. They only fly to Regional type airports, and only on certain days. If you can work that into your schedule, it's a great deal. And the best thing is they are truely On-Time. Many times early. Like tonight - Scheduled 8:40pm arrival, 8:03pm actual. Two hours late leaving Belleville Illinois, two hours sitting on plane with no air conditioning! By the time the plane got to Punta Gorda it was too foggy to land. Rerouted to Fort Lauderdale at 2:50am, credited half of ticket price and left the passengers on their own to get back across the state. No hotel rooms available, people were lined up at car rental. Luckily my husband was able to share a car with another couple. I picked him up in Port Charlotte at 9am. WTH??? I have never heard of an airlines leaving passengers 2.5 hours (that is just the drive time) from their destination. read more

Flew home from SRQ to CVG at 6:15 Flight # 1356 last night. I booked Row #32 when I got to my seat the flight attendant suggested i move to row #31 for a window. I did. When 6 passengers all traveling together sat in all 6 seats of row 30 all treating mask wearing as optional. I asked the flight attendant if I could move back to my original booked seat 32F. She said NO. I then gave her a hand written note asking if she could get better mask wearing compliance from the passengers in Row 30. A few minutes later she went up the isle asking passengers to put their trays in the up right position and to make sure masks were on. The passengers were active teenage and younger who were not wearing masks properly not covering nose and mouth. I felt Trapped. It was a long unsafe flight. I did not Feel like Alligent did enough to insure my safety. read more

We were guarded to Book with Allegiant due to all the stuff in the news. We booked a cheap trip, $535 for three of us to fly from Lexington to Porta Gorda, FL. Great service on time or Early departure and arrival. We will for sure fly with them again. No extra things like snacks and bag fees. Still so much cheaper than other airlines. read more

This is one of those you get what you pay for type of deals, haha. Allegiant airlines is a very low cost, no frills, and offers direct flights to many destinations that the larger airlines require lay overs for. So for example, I have flown from IND to TPA on Allegiant, direct flight, cost about $70 total, wow, that's a bargain! Yes, they do have mechanical issues and delays more than the larger airlines, and I have learned if your flight is delayed once it probably will be delayed 3 times, lol. Yes, you can pay $250 for the same trip on another airline and probably leave on time, but you will have a stop over in probably ATL for an extra hour, and have to change planes. The Allegiant staff has always been friendly and nice to me, maybe it helps because I show the same kindness and respect to them, haha. And all airlines have delays and issues that arise on occasion, even private jets. So if you don't want to wait, you can drive or find another route, lol. Planning ahead is the best option. I give this small airline 5 stars because of all they do for their flyers at such a low cost. Pack light and tight, be smart and bring a small backpack so you don't have to pay for extra carry on luggage, if that's all you need to bring during your trip. read more

Done with southwest, until i need them again, I will take paying for everything just to have a crew that knows how to handle drunk passengers. This airline is great walk to the terminal, show your allegiant credit card get on board in the 2nd wave of passengers, find your seat and sit. No lining up , no what line assignment are you, no standing in line while the next boarding group lines up with you. Enjoyed the flights and love that I can be 10 mins from my Florida destination, instead of 2 hours or 40 mins. And lastly the friendly skies are dead and passengers are treated on how they treat the crew, never in a abusive way, but your gonna get a stern talking to if your loud, abrasive and rude to other passengers. My wife and I traveled to Punta Gorda Florida and during our trip she had an accident and was hospitalized. I tried calling them with the number on the website and the recording said that they're not accepting phone calls. When I tried to live chat on line it was the same response. When we checked in at our departure airport, the desk clerk noticed my husband's Veteren status on his ID and rolled out the red carpet. We were reimbursed our baggage fees, and reminded to not pick seats or reserve baggage until we arrive at the airport. WOW! What great and friendly service! On our way back home, my husband struck up a conversation with the pilot in the terminal. They exchanged cards and while we probably won't be best friends, it was another friendly touch. All food and beverage is for sale and no WIFI on the plane. I could have used a bag of pretzels and a complimentary beverage, so I took away a star for that and no WIFI. read more

There is absolutely no one managing this airline. The employees are ill prepared for their jobs. It's chaos from the minute you stand in line for hours to check in to the late arrivals and departures. The employees are rude if you complain and believe me you will have loads to complain about. If I could give 0 stars I would. Not only are they super crazy anal abt checking bags but if you have any and I mean anything over the oz limit they make u take it out. I had no problem at any other air ports with my bottle of toner. It's a necessity for me. Skincare you know. But they don't keep that in mind here. As we began to descend, I grew concerned as the pilot was twisting and turning the plane more than is typical for my flight home from RI. My concerns were then validated as they were unable to successfully land on the first try. They ended up rapidly ascending just before the wheels of the plane were about to hit the ground. I was panicked and confused. It took too long for the copilot to actually announce anything about what was going on. Passengers were left wondering for 5+ minutes. Last week, they were delayed getting here and now they are delayed leaving. Unfortunately, that wasn't stated until I was already at the airport and the transportation left, leaving me to his from an obvious super spreading area in the terminal. This place is packed! How is this ok? Allegiant truly does suck, but they are the only airline that services this airport and my destination, so I'm stuck. Hope I don't get Covid. Recently booked a flight from Punta Gorda to Louisville. This appealed as it was a direct flight and I was going there for our granddaughters baby shower. We spent Thanksgiving in Atlanta. Unfortunately, I got a bug there & came home yesterday. I called Allegiant to rebook my flight at a later date & with the fees it was almost as expensive as the initial flight I had already paid. Alligient Airlines found an easy way to make up for lost revenue. Lie to the customer. When we booked our three tickets out of SRQ, we were shown every other row as blocked for added safety during Covid 19. Which was great. We were then charged an additional fee (of course on Allegiant), which was actually fine as well. However when we got on board the entire plane was packed( every row) and several of the gate staff not wearing face masks. You damaged my disabled mother's scooter a few weeks ago ..something she needs to function since all the bones in her feet are destroyed from her disability....and you won't fix it??? She did report it right away at the counter before we left the airport in Albuquerque. We did as the nice lady at the counter told us. We called as soon as we got into the car....and there was a 45 minute wait. My mom had just got into town and was not feeling well so she decided to wait till she got home to Vegas 3 or 4 days later. So because she reported it right away at the airport....and we called as the lady said you won't fix it because my mom reported it again at the airport in Vegas a few days later??? No one said there was a time line of 4 hours! Also maybe someone should have helped her right there in Albuquerque! She traveled back again to Albuquerque a few weeks after the damage and I was furious to see she didn't bring her scooter because she was afraid of it getting further damage. She was standing on the curb in pain! Motorized scooters are expensive and important for many people's quality of life! How dare you. This is her only way of getting around without pain. We can't do half of what we want to do because she literally can't walk. One should not have to travel in fear that a part of their mobility will be destroyed. Horrible customer service. Why so many people complain so much about Allegiant, is beyond me. This was my sixth time flying on an Allegiant Airlines flight. I've heard Allegiant horror stories, but I must admit that I've always had good experiences. Just so you know, it's a budget airline so to speak. You have to pay for every single perk that you can think of. There is baggage fees for even carry-on luggage. All of the Allegiant flights (that I know of) that go to and from my hometown airport, LEX are nonstop. It was a 2 hour straight shot from Punta Gorda, back to the cold and snow of Lexington. This midweek flight was right around $65. Wow! This is 2017?! The booking process online is quite smooth, especially once you learn to navigate the site and the check-in process. The flight quotes are listed online individually, but you can book round trip on the same reservation. Because the flights are on certain days, the times that I've flown with Allegiant to get to a cruise port destination, I've had to stay at a hotel the night before the cruise. The departure day never lines up because the flights out of Lexington are usually mid day, landing too late to get straight on a cruise. I will have to shout out the lady at the check-in counter. Just because it started boarding at 1:00 doesn't mean that I want to sit in a small plane for an extra hour, but she somehow that it was necessary to lecture me while I was on the phone. If the takeoff time is 2 and the schedule clearly lists the doors close at 1:45, don't start pressuring me at 1:20 to get on board, especially since there is a line of people still on the tarmac, waiting to board the plane. Punta Gorda airport is transforming the flight experience with Allegiant. The staff goes above and beyond. From greeting me, to assisting me with my bag (which was small so didn't really need help) to smiles through the security line! They have a cafe/bar that is very helpful. No offer to go home and come back no heads up that we would be sitting here all day just an update every two hours that our boarding time has been moved another two hours this started at 1:45pm and we've had 5 updates 3:00pm 5:00 pm 7:00 pm and now 9:00pm don't ever fly with this shitty ass airline they will rip you of your happiness and not even give you a heads up that you could go home just make you sit at the gate all day saying they are fixing the plane. I have flown several times with Allegiant. Always they have problems. Never on time. Employees are worse than not nice. Now my credit card has been charged for a trip I made in June. This flight was paid for in April. I talked to Taylor, in their Customer service. I was told their was no manager to talk to. Also any help would take 6-8 weeks. I have made excuses for this airline and accepted their horrible treatment. Now that bogus charges have shown up on my credit card, I don't think I will be using this company anymore. Watch your credit card charges. Bring anything you might need on the flight with you. Don't expect anyone with this company to be nice. Here is the review one of my colleagues from work has been waiting for. (You know who you are) I travelled for the first time on Allegiant Airlines this past Sunday down to Florida and then back on Thursday. I can say that I have plenty of experience flying different airlines from around he world ranging from all included to no frills and hence I believe I have a leg to stand on in rendering an opinion. The one thing I liked about this airline before I went aboard is that they tell you what to expect, and what not to expect from them. We expected and got a low price. We did not expect and did not receive full services aboard the plane. All of their brochures show pilots and flight attendants who are smiling and seem to be in a general good mood and that is exactly what we got. The boarding process was easy, organized, and well rehearsed. On board announcements were made and we took off. During the flight they did sell snacks but were not overly intrusive. Upon landing we disembarked while the pilot actually came out to greet everyone and say thanks for flying. Luggage was available quickly and my bags always we there as promised. They have rules, such as to be at the airport 2 hours before the flight. If you stick to their suggested guidelines all seems to work out fine. I would not like to take them day in and day out for business, but for a holiday get away I will always check them out. read more
