I have been swimming and exercising with weights and cable machines for over 4 years. The swimming pool has no rival in the greater Pittsburgh area at this membership price. Not even close. The swimming lanes are wide for two or more swimmers at the time. For their shoestring budget they do a fantastic job on maintaining it for safe and comfortable for normal people. Germaphobes, look elsewhere. No obnoxious babbling and squealing trainers, but I you need support it is always there. I cannot recommended enough; I has kept me healthy and happy. I never thought I could find it here. Several times I came the woman behind the desk was on personal calls during her work hours. When I asked her a question while on her cell phone she said well I am at work to whomever she was talking to. Yeah really help the customers. Some classes have unfriendly instructors. If a class is listed for a specific time then it should start on time, not 15 minutes later. read more

It is a vey nice YMCA and I think you should join. They have great programs and classes, I recommend the swim team. The employees are very nice and they do a pretty good job keeping the place clean. read more

This place is extremely outdated. It's almost scary. The woman at the front desk took 15 minutes checking us in and acted like we were not even there when she started a new conversation with a customer when she wasn't even done finishing with us. I don't know how this place is still running. It's scary old and I'm worried the locker rooms have festering germs. read more

I love going to the Allegheny YMCA! The staff is friendly and helpful, and I always get a good workout in. However, it is a little dated and could updating in some parts. Nevertheless, good workouts don't come from flashy equipment! They have many different classes, a great gym, and a fantastic pool with lifeguards that are helpful :) read more

I haven't been there in 20 years but I stopped in while traveling by and it's the same as it was 20 years ago. It needs an upgrade plus the weight rooms outdated but they do have a lot of activities for children and seniors. It's a great organization that been around a long time but if your there to lift or do cardio it's not the place for you. read more
