Good folk. Know their products well. Can recommend variants of your favorites. I received a few samples of pipe tobacco to try. Good selection of pipes from daily run of the mill to exotics. Stop in and browse. And no, I do not work there! read more

Helpful without overstepping, great selection of pipe tobacco and cigars. Can't wait to go back.

Great place to get cigars & be with other cigar people. Cigar lounges are where great for meeting good people N@.

Stopped for the first time in September. Needed to write this review since the people; the diverse quantity and quality of pipes and pipe tobacco is almost overwhelming - not to mention the humidor full of many of the best cigars in the world. A very pleasing room note visit, as well I purchased several new pipe tobaccos. Visiting ASW is a new treat and will be enjoyed many times in the future. Thanks Guys for the knowledgable, professionalism that you all display. ILL BE BACK! Even though I was not carded. I would be happy to be carded now at my age. The complaint about being carded is childish at best. Andrew B obviously does not yet understand the value of having honest and law abiding professionals especially in heavily regulated retail establishments. read more

I like to smoke a good cigar. And I like to talk to others who enjoy the same - and especially like to talk to people who KNOW a lot about them and why they are so good. And so it is at Allegheny Smokeworks. Mike is incredibly knowledgeable and has terrific recommendations. His humidor is filled with delights that he can attest to personally. There are the standard, find in every cigar store brands as well as some he gets exclusively. I always find some things I enjoy and never walk out empty handed. There's a small smoking lounge in front of the store which is always filled with aficionados puffing away in a cloud of smoke - which is noticeable as you approach the place from afar. But that's ok, if you are offended by that you'll not likely find yourself anywhere near here. Great place - might be in my top 2-3 favorite cigar stores around. read more

Stopped by yesterday for the time and was greated by Christian (I believe, I'm terrible with remembering names). But in any case I am very new to cigars and he was very helpful in picking a cigar that would pair with my bourbon. I will definitely be going back. Thanks for the help!!! It is so rare to see service now a days that is aimed to be of service to the customers and they were on top of it. read more

Best selection, most knowledgeable tobaccanists anywhere. If you haven't been there, be prepared to be like a kid in a candy store. Worth going out of your way for! read more

Allegheny Smokeworks - My vision of young Mike. - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Made a trip here to purchase part of a retirement gift for a friend who is a cigar smoker. The staff was great and so very helpful and when I mentioned that my friend enjoyed a glass of good scotch with a cigar staff also made recommendations for some scotch brands. Excellent customer service! And while I'm not a smoker the humidor did smell wonderful . I will definitely recommend this business to other cigar smokers read more

Best cigar selection in Pittsburgh. Their pipe tobacco blends are fantastic, I recommend RLP-6. Great atmosphere!

By far the best cigar/ pipe selection with a lounge in the Pittsburgh area! Great employees and very knowledgeable as well ! A must to come by too! read more

Never again. I have been a repeat customer for over six years, spent thousands of dollars here, and have never had an issue or have been dissatisfied with Allegheny Smokeworks until tonight. I recently walked down to get a few cigars before closing, and was prodded for my ID upon checkout. Most people think I'm in my 30s (I'm 24) and I have never been carded here, let alone other cigar shops. Being that the employee in question has been working there for over 5 years, you would think that he would have known me. However, due to the inconvenience of me being forced to to walk back to my condo, to merely get my ID, I will no longer be stopping into Allegheny Smokeworks. There are other local cigar shops, albeit not as convenient, that I would much rather give my business to as a result of this. read more

This has to be the best cigar shop I've been to, with respect to selection, price, and customer experience. Highly knowledgeable staff that are friendly and always willing to offer a similar selection to expand your horizons. Must check them out. read more

I've been going to ASW for the past 10 years, with it being my original home smoking lounge. Mike and Christian are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable in all facets. You can find cigars here that are rare and truly a delight to the pallet. Can't express enough how good this place has been to me along the years. They are numero uno in my book. read more

One of the best cigar shops I've ever been too if not the best. Large selection of sticks. Great store for the beginner or the aficionado! Whether you're looking for something cheap or something to throw in the humidor to age or looking to stock up this is the place to go. The staff was phenomenal and just an overall great group of people. Whether you're walking in for the first time of the 100th, they treat you like they've known you your whole life. Also, a great place for accessories as well. They have a little bit of everything under the sun and then some! Will definitely be stopping back by every chance I get. read more

This is by far the best place around for a brick and mortar tobacconist. They have a great selection of bulk and tinned tobaccos. The staff is knowledgable and always friendly. The prices are excellent. What more can you ask for in a business? No matter how far you travel it's worth the trip. For me it's a hour drive. Well worth it just deal with these guys. Simply put, this place is THE best. read more

I frequent ASW almost every day. This cigar lounge is comfortable, roomy, VERY reasonably priced, and all around perfect. Their humidor is on point with a large selection of cigars, pipe tobacco, and accessories for each. Both Christian and Mike are very kind, and I formed a quick friendship with both of them. They know their stuff more than just about everyone. The humidor itself has notes next to each cigar, showing what awards, ratings, and special information it has. Extremely informative. Even if you aren't sure what to pick, all you have to do is ask and the staff can help you find the perfect smoke for you or a friend without any trouble. Being an official Espinoza lounge, you'll find the latest of their line, as well as several others when they have different brand events.. which are frequent, and can include a cook-out with drinks of some sort. You can sign up for an email list to get the latest news from their upcoming events and soecials. You can also pick up a card, which for every $100 spent (marked by ten stamps for each $10), you get $10 off your next purchase! These can stack as well for another purchase if you don't wish to use it right then and there. The most important part, aside from the cigars, is the lounge itself. A main common area at the front of the shop can seat a handful of people, with room to stand. The entire room is bright and windowed, with extremely comfortable leather chairs. There is also a chair in the back room as well that's bathed in warm sunlight. My personal favorite to enjoy a smoke. The building is clean, beautifully decorated with tobacco souveniers, and really gives you a sense of home and comfort. I highly recommend EVERYONE in the Pittsburgh area stop by to chat and have a smoke. See you there! read more

Stopped in for the first time today to check out their pipe tobacco selection. Great selection of tinned and bulk tobaccos as well as pipes. Was greeted and asked if I needed help. Took a while for me to choose some items but no one rushed me and all of my questions were answered with patience and knowledge. Once I engaged the owner in conversation he was eager to show me whatever I needed. You could tell he is excited about his products. Asked me my name and shook my hand. I find most smoke shops focus mainly on cigars with pipes as an afterthought but not this place. Even met a gentleman there smoking a pipe and signed up for a pipe instructional that he runs at the shop. Walked out with two kinds of bulk tobacco and a tin of tobacco. Some places make you buy at least two ounces of bulk tobacco but they have a one ounce minimum which is great for sampling different kinds without committing to a bunch you may not like. Will definitely be back for more. read more
