It shouldn't be so difficult to have a five-minute conversation with a caseworker about the well-being of your loved one. For two weeks, I called repeatedly trying to find out the status of my family member's mental health and to discuss an urgent matter regarding the loss of their home and personal belongings. Despite leaving multiple messages, I did not receive a return call until after my family member had already been released. I understand that caseworkers have demanding workloads and that jails are busy environments. However, behind an inmate can be a concerned family member that cares deeply about them. Families may be worried, trying to make important decisions, or simply looking for guidance. Returning a phone call is not only a matter of professionalism, it can make a significant difference for families navigating an already difficult situation. No one should have to wait until after their loved one is released to receive a response about concerns that were both urgent and time-sensitive. read more

food wasn't very good. bed was incredibly hard. I'm pretty sure the heat in my room was broken. 1/10 would not recommend traveling here.

They will not notify you that your visit was cancelled until you get there. Drove an hour to get there and see my family member and was turned away because they didn't have enough people working. I have to give at least 48 notice and they only provide one day a week where you can see your loved one. You would think that they would at least have enough people working to follow through on their agreements. Employees that were working couldn't care less that it's their fault we don't get to see our loved ones for another week. Someone inmate is going to commit suicide because that is there only link to the Meir family and I hope they catch another lawsuit for it. Worst county prison in the United States. Locked in 23hrs day Poor medical attention Food sometimes expired Can't reach staff Extremely expensive for calls, video visits, commissary. The contracted phone calls, Getting Out, etc is completely confusing to set up on families end. Jail is kept freezing cold inside and if you don't have money to order thermals (in July), your going to freeze No fresh air Always locked in cell No 12 step mtgs No books Really a horrible stop and most incarcerated there are only charged, haven't even gone to court yet. read more

worked there in middle management for 6years. This was the 3rd correctional facility that I have worked in and absolutely the worst. If you're not part of the huge good ol boy network then you're screwed. I was fired for chewing out a subordinate who was part of the network. if they like you then you can pretty much do and say anything you want. I was harassed by a deputy warden for 5Years and nothing was done after several complaints. I was written up and disciplined for things that other people were never held accountable for. Absolutely the worst work culture I have ever experienced. Apparently they have a new warden now which I hope will have a positive impact on the work force because the Warden that I worked under was an incompetent idiot. In a career that spanned almost 40 years, I have never experienced anything like that. Total disrespect and insubordination. Inadequate and illegal inmate care. read more

If i could give this a 0 star i would.. I am not fit for jail i am tramatized and i only made it to the holding cell.. That room was freezing and there was some kind of huge spit ball just stuck on the wall.. Not to mention the toliet was stuffed up, ikyfl if you think once i found out where to quench our thirst at was where i was going to go quench my thirst ABSOLUTELY got the wrong person. No ma'am no ham no turkey.. Now them sandwhiches only hit because i was starving but not only did they give us cookies at the bottom they gave us soft hard cookies.. What are soft hard cookies?? How are you soft around the edges and hard in the middle.. Than out of all fruits.. A pear.?? Nah what was the most horrific part of jail was not knowing the time... I almost went insane ONLY in the holding room. It'll be a no for me dawg!! I know it's jail i can't believe people do things to get passed that holding cell like " woah let's see what's beyond this point " i was ready to go home when i got in the back of the cop car i ain't even do nothing ( criminals on tv say that all the time ) but me i really didn't do nothing and just the.... Yo i come into that scary place and i turn to my left i see a man all wrapped up i see the sign " Suicide watch " yeah i just stopped turning around even after i got put in the cell.. Terrified was an understatement i was constipated without having to go to the bathroom.. I cried my last tears before entering the building..i just feel like if they won't put a tv put a clock.. The officers could've showed us how To work the toliet like what button goes with what.. Who creates a water fountain connected to a toliet.. I feel for the ones ( prisoners hate the least ) who gotta go beyond where the unknown knows .. I was treated like an animal.. I asked some lady about the time everything was supposed to happen so i can get back to my daughter the lady said she'd aaked and then 3 shift changes later i was still sitting there cold with a hurting booty.. I gotta 10 month old daughter that jail or any will never ever see me back that down that cage.. You got people writing " help me " & i ain't never coming back here again " felt that in my soul cause whew NEVER.. My thumb lost all the blood ( or feeling one of them ) in them handcuffs my wrist were sweety mom's spaghetti ( sorry Eminem be speaking facts ) nah but the officers were nice they didn't speak to me YOOOO there was this crazy white man getting booty butt naked in his holding cell the offiers was like " PUT YOUR SH*T ON, NOBODY WANTS TO SEE YOUR BALLS WE'RE NOT DOING THIS AGAIN " i said yooo nope not for me not today satan " And after being released i ran to the store and bought these cheeseburgers I'd rate that a 0 star too if i could.. This place is terrible and needs to be shut down and bulldozed! I've been here twice unfortunately and I was pregnant the second time.... they suck ass when it comes to providing pregnant women with proper care. They never got me the vitamins I needed and they put me on the top which they aren't supposed to do. I had a Felony charge that winded up getting disposed off, but why was I in a maximum security pod. Bullshit to the max!! Only charges I have are misdemeanors and summaries. I am not a violent felon, I've never done drugs and I've never hurt no one. When you are in a holding cell, you will wish you were in a pod with a bed, because at least when you get a cell you can clean it and have something to lay down on. I promised myself I would never fuck up again and come back to this horrible place I wouldn't lock my dog or cat in. This place is filled to the brim with people who are innocent and have done nothing wrong or have stupid charges that don't warrant jail time. I was blessed I winded up getting a cellie I knew from the outside, thank God for that girl still. Thankfully I had an attorney that got my bail reduced to non monetary so I got the hell out of there faster than you could say Pittsburgh after 9 days in the worst stink hole in the state! Shout out to the nice CO that helped me find out when I was getting released in pod 4F. Be nice to the COs, they'll be nice to you. I've been to all the female pods and 4F is the worst. If you get stuck in that pod, good luck! read more
