I finally quit going to Dr. Smart and WEC because of the repeated mistakes over the last 3 years…read more Each year I would use my insurance to get glasses. The first year we made changes to the prescription and line measurements from the original glasses they prescribed. Each year after that, we would have to send them back two or three times because they would get the prescription wrong. Then when we got them back, the lines would be wrong. Always took two or three attempts. Also on this years exam, I had a prescription from the VA that was great. I just wanted to use that to order my glasses. They said ok but still had me do an eye exam. Their prescription was different. When the glasses came in, they were under their prescription and not the VA's, and of course, it was wrong again and blurry up close. They did not use the VA prescription. This time they offered, and I took a refund so I could see a different provider. They however did not refund the $150.00 eye exam so now I can't use it to get my glasses through some one else so it will have to be out of pocket. When I contacted them, I was simply told that they would not refund it, even though they messed the prescription up again and also did not use the one I requested. I have also heard from others that they have had this same issue.

She was extremely nice and personable. Let me tell you: the music they were playing was super well-received by me. Usually it's boring music at offices such as this: here it was 90s and 00s alternative. Great touch! Savannah called my name and we started with all the tests and such. Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better person at an eye clinic. She was super nice, personable, and helpful. She totally understood my concerns and really made the experience great. Once we were done with initial testing, she left to update Dr. Greene on my concerns. Dr. Greene was absolutely excellent. She really put my care and concerns on the primary and let me choose how to proceed. No pressure, no talking down to me, just a great doctor. Bonus points: both Dr. Greene and Savannah were in masks and completely understood why I was masked up the entire time. Once we decided on a plan, it was time to pick out glasses. The glasses lady (I'm sorry, I can't remember her name) was very nice. However, I wish she had a bit more feedback for me. It took her a bit to really offer suggestions. The other thing was that the frames I was shown were pretty pricey. I'm not sure if any lower priced frames were offered here, and I will totally admit that was a bit on me. I like my glasses. I'm still in adjustment phase (think: the floor is convex oh no!); however, when I went to pick up my glasses, Savannah was at the front desk and helped me with my concerns about my new contacts. She took time to get lenses out and was quick to make adjustments to my contact prescription based on my preference and experience with the first pair. I'm wearing my 2nd pair of trial contacts, and my prescription will be based on what I like. Yay! I'm really into the 30 day trial run. No more settling!

Goes the Chihuahua as she's stepped on or tripped over. The dumb one that is. The smart one see's I'm not wearing my glasses and hides in his box.... As I'm writing this I have no idea where I'm going with it..... In any case for both conditions Dr Gifford has a cure. Not the broken toe or the pissed off Chihuahua, they are so cute when their mad...No I mean my poor vision and the fact that I constantly took my old set of glasses off when I got home because of the pain they caused after a long day. They were trifocal which I found out I didn't need. They were rimless which I also found out made them uncomfortable and they were heavy because they were cheap. Not to buy, I see now I was overcharged, but from a manufacturing point. They were not worth what I paid at the "other" place. I'm not going to talk bad about the "other" place in town that sold them to me and prescribed a rather strenuous prescription. All I will say is that I wish I had gone to Dr Gifford and his team first. I had a full examination. Very much relaxed and unhurried. Dr G helped me understand how the Lab he uses designs the lenses which is very technical and seemed cutting edge. I have to say upon wearing them now as I write this, the way my eye's feel, and "seeablity" of these is remarkable. They are light weight frames , the lenses are thinner because of the different way they manufacture them and they are smaller but the sight picture seems large enough to me. Very comfortable and about $200 less than the other places 10 pound goggles I was wearing. (They will make great ant killers for my grandaughter.) I don't give many 5 stars but Dr G and his team are really as good as it gets. I also got freebee's. I wont tell you what because they may not like you as much as they like me, and you wont get any....Dr G and associates you are the best....my Chihuahua's thank you!

But Dr. Huey does not understand the full history of my child and why, at age 14, she still has me going into appointments with her. I won't go into that more here, as it has little bearing, but I have to be an involved mom or my daughter will be left far behind. After being reprimanded I was quiet for the rest of our time there except when she was choosing frames. Dr. Huey and his staff were very thorough with their examination and he took the time to explain why she needed to wear glasses all the time and that improvement to her eyes would only occur if she wore her glasses all the time. My daughter and I came out of that appointment with more understanding of her current condition than ever, but I don't take well to being shut down like that. The frames are also quite high-priced compared to other places in my opinion. After insurance and discounts I still had to pay over $150 extra for the glasses. My daughter will continue to see him, but I will be taking my business elsewhere for myself.

This facility truly has the BEST Optometrists in town. Allow me to go in detail…read more -They treat almost all eye issues at this location (they do not do Surgeries, ex. Cataract Surgery), so Pink eye(s), Dry eyes, Foreign Body removals, Special testing (visual fields, ERG, OCT, Pachs, etc.). -The staff is always happy to assist you from when you walk in, to when you leave. -The building doesn't smell bad, the place always smells fresh. -They will work with your insurance & wont hide any fees from you. (I have Tricare btw. & would rather check the health of my eyes here than on Base.) - All the doctors are professional, friendly, and always listen to all your concerns. -When receiving an exam here, the staff is very thorough. The best machine they have at this facility is called, "The Optos Machine" it takes a picture of the back of your eye through the pupil to see the Retina. This machine is great since it basically allows you to see what the doctor sees when they look through their microscope. -They have a variety of contact lenses here, even the Scleral lenses. -Their soft contact lenses are the cheapest in town or online since they also come with rebates. I recommend purchasing the 1 year supply to get your money's worth. (For those of you who think Hubble is cheaper, so is Hubble's quality.) The doctors here will make sure there is no issues with the lenses they put you in. And will always work with you if you have any issues. -The back office Clinicians are the best. They all work together to help your visit go buy smoother. They call in your prescriptions. They make sure all your medical information is accurate. - The Optical department also works with your needs. They have transition lenses, Crizal, Eyezen+, & so many brand name frames to choose from. Overall, I highly recommend this Business and would not think to go to another Office.

My experience at Complete Eye Care-Lawton was unacceptable and feels like a scam. I want to warn…read moreothers before they end up in the same situation. We came in for an eye exam covered under TRICARE. The exam itself was fine, but when we were already checked out and about to leave, we reminded her that we wanted to order contacts. At that point, we were suddenly hit with a $150 charge for a "contact lens fitting." No one disclosed upfront that this would be an out-of-pocket expense not covered by TRICARE. Instead, the charge was added at the very end, after services were already performed. That is not transparency -- that is a bait-and-switch tactic. We called for weeks leaving voicemails checking on our prescription and no call back. ONLY when calling back we spoke to a representative that told us the contacts were never ordered and we were charged that fee which was never explained to us at all. To make matters worse, the employee checking us out, Karen, was rude and dismissive. She acted like she didn't want to be there or do her job. When we asked for a copy of our prescription (which is our legal right), she avoided giving it to us until we asked multiple times. By law (FTC Contact Lens Rule), providers are required to release prescriptions after fittings without patients having to beg for them. The fact that she withheld it until we pressed is extremely concerning and unprofessional. After leaving, I found other reviews describing the exact same problem -- people being charged $100-$150 at checkout with no proper explanation, and walking out with nothing but the trial lenses in their eyes. This shows a clear pattern of misleading billing practices and withholding prescriptions, not just an isolated mistake. Patients deserve honesty, respect, and compliance with the law. What we got instead was rudeness, surprise billing, and the feeling of being taken advantage of. If you're military or TRICARE, be especially cautious here. They advertise being in-network, but you will still get hit with hidden charges that TRICARE doesn't cover. I will be reporting this clinic to TRICARE, the Oklahoma Board of Optometry, and the FTC for investigation.
