My 50 year old pool was in dismal shape and only getting worse. I tried to patch the plaster and paint it myself during the pandemic and it looked great for about a week, then went back to crumbling big patches of plaster off the walls and into the filters. I was faced with a dilemma with no option other than re plastering the whole pool. I got bids from several companies with high prices that didn't bother to answer basic questions. This was the first and hopefully last time I was going to do this and wanted to know I was doing it right finally! By the time I contacted Arrowhead Pool & Spa, I was pretty dejected over the whole project. Laura took the time to get me a quick, thorough and competitive quote and answer all my questions ahead of the process. I felt comfortable that this was the company I would entrust to do the work I had been scared of getting done for a long while. I waited a few months to get some funds together, then contacted them to make the appointment. In a few days, Rob came to drain the pool and explain the process. A couple days later, his guys chipped out the remaining plaster and hauled away the debris. The day after that, a team of guys came and re plastered in about half a day. Over the course of the next week Rob and his employee Kyle filled and serviced the pool and filter to clean the excess plaster dust and make sure the water chemistry was optimal for the plaster to cure. Laura in the office kept me informed of all their activity so I knew what was left for me to do, which was not a whole lot! The pool turned out beautiful and the yard was left clean. I could not be happier about my experience working with Arrowhead. After years of disappointments involving my pool, I look forward to a new era of enjoyment with it. We have wanted to refinish our pool and spa surface for years from a faded and uneven black bottom pool to pebble. Our friend had recently used Arrowhead pool and his team and recommended them and we had seen their pool and how well it turned out. Rob came out and gave us some ideas of what we could do and while he was here also helped me troubleshoot how we could fix a bad concrete seam from an added on area to accommodate a fire pit performed by someone else. He suggested we add a stone trim to go with other trims we have around the yard and we could not be happier with how it turned out. It no longer looks like a piece added on, but something planned with the original concrete pour. The pool surface and replacement of stone around the rim of the pool was all expertly done and our pool looks like brand new. We had our BBQ island re-tiled to give us a more modern look and to match the pool tile and this was also expertly done with no problems. Everyone who has been to our home has been incredibly respectful of our property and nice to us. They clean up every day and warn us if there are any hazards to be careful of out there before they leave (such as re-bar exposed at one point). We have two young boys and a couple of dogs so this was much appreciated. I also have to give a shout out to Laura who helped organize the project and get the bid over to us. She helped keep us on track with our tile and pebble selections and was very good at relaying information back and forth between myself and Rob to keep things moving. She was also very sweet and responsive to all of our questions (and there were many). Their prices are fair and the work is incredible. We had Arrowhead pools resurface our pool and replace some tile. They came and tore apart our pool and then it sat for a week waiting for the new tile to get in. I had specifically told Rob that I would pick other te if he couldn't get that one quickly. He never told me it was going to take over a week to get it in so we just had to wait The people he had come to do the pebble tech were completely disrespectful of our property. They left blue footprints all over our new tile pavers and wall tile that had just been installed. They also got something in our waterfall which they tried to tell me that it was there already. It's been a couple months, and not only has he not done the work, he doesn't answer any calls, texts, emails or anything. I've asked around to see if he was still alive and he was. We had Arrowhead pools replaster our pool. It was evaluated by our consultant and he indicated it was the worst replaster work he had ever seen. There are cracks, stains and work boot prints on the bottom of the pool. Pictures are readily available. Rob agreed that the pool needed to be repaired and he stated that he would drain the pool, acid wash the pool and pay for half of the water refill. No response has come from Rob. I sent him three text messages and have not received an acknowledgment or response of any kind. In my last text, I indicated that his silence was a signal from him that he was obviously not interested in correcting a defective work product. I am now in the process of correcting Arrowhhead Pools defective work. Based upon my dealings with this Company I would never use or recommend them ever again. It has been a horrible experience and would not wish my experience on anyone looking for quality work. An unmitigated disaster. We were orignally impressed with the service of this company. We decided to upgrade the pool software system which cost about $3,500 to install. Once they performed the installation, they became unresponsive. Nothing was connected properly, the system was not running at all and our pool started to show signs of this. We also learned that the system is intended for a chlorine pool and we have a saltwater pool. After dozens of attempts to reach out, we finally had to pay another company to come and fix this problem. We still have to purchase additional parts to complete this system and convert it to a saltwater system. This is not how a paying customer should be treated. When you start a job and take money from someone, you should see it through. Well, this company will not respond. Cleaning the pool was so so, but I would not hire this company to do any type of repair or installation or anything for that matter. Terrible service. read more

If I could give a zero star I would. Rob and Earl seemed like they were a good match at the beginning. Even though Earl made a $2000 dollar error on his original estimate. But here we are now Friday and his crews were to start this coming Monday and I receive email stating that they were going to pass on the job. No reason, not a call, just an email. We now have a pool that has been drained and no contractor. We have family coming into town for the holidays and they were so looking forward to swimming and enjoying the California sun. He did reach out this morning via text (isn't professional enough to call and speak to us) to state that he didn't want the job because I didn't have the stone & tile at the house. Not the case at all, as the new stone is here and tile will be here tomorrow. Rob, I can't order tile until you tell us how much to order. As soon as I had that number from you it was ordered. Being an interior designer and contractor myself, you know, especially in remodels, that there will always be issues that come along. Your job, as the professional, is to work with the client to come up with a solution. That is just the nature of what we do and there will always be something that you're faced with. You don't high tale it and run. Especially by sending an email. Could it be that you are not insured?!!! Contractors license board says you are not. Maybe that is the reason! Rob's partner offered us a really good quote compared to other companies that showed up. I picked Arrowhead because of the previous reviews but had to realize that it must be a hit or miss with Arrowhead Pools. It was really hard to get a hold of them. I understand if someone is busy but having to run after someone and having to call 10 times? I paid for their services and was promised that they would come back to replace the plastic caps that they broke and promised to replace. Since handing over the check, I have not heard back once in 7 months. They might have good pricing but they are not easy to work with. Had them come out for a bid. Was shocked by their pricing, and their email dialouge. I have had a total of 6 bids for a small pool replaster. The other 5 companies I choose had more years in business, a larger amount of reviews, and were highly reputable businesses. The average cost of the other pool companies was $9,305 while Arrowhead's bid was a whopping $16,316. I sent an email letting them know they were so much more exspensive. Their response was about the work it took to give me a "free" bid, glad that I found someone "cheap", and good luck with that. (Mind you 5 seperate contractors all had bid's in the same ball park.) Cheap is not my goal, quality reliable work is. The reason for bid's is to know what the price range is, and to become aquainted with your future contractor. Yikes! Rude and entitled! As everyone knows, the world of swimming pools has more than its share of shady characters... Rest assured, Arrowhead Pools is NOT one of them! I cannot say enough good things about this company! I called several companies regarding my pool heater. Most were 7-10 days or more out before they could come, but Arrowhead went out of their way to rearrange their schedule to get to me in 2 days! They quickly installed the new heater. They patiently and clearly explained all my options and answered all my questions. A couple of days later Rob (the owner) came out to fix a minor leak. When I asked about the heaters location, instead of blowing me off, He uninstalled the heater, moved it, and reinstalled it! Their prices were basically the same or less than other companies. But when you consider the quality and promptness of their services, you end up with the best overall value by far! I have done my own pool service for years, but I was so impressed with this company that I fired myself and hired them to take over my weekly service! Robb came out and gave us a quote and timeline for replacing our coping, mastic, acid wash pebble tech and add a 6 inch tile to the top of pebble tech. Timeline was way longer than he said but we chose late fall so besides workers in our back yard longer than we thought it was fine. A few days after everything was done we noticed the drain cover was not secure at the bottom of the pool. Robb is refusing to come back and fix. After over $17k in work he won't pay a diver a couple hundred to fix for us. Says we need to pay. Never did we think an entire job would now be a total disappointment all over Robb not following up to fix a cover he put on and did not secure correctly. The coping work has some rough edges and the tile work is subpar. Many tiles are not level. Too bad Robb's not someone that's trusted to warrant his work. We resurfaced our pool with these guys earlier this year and have been very happy all the way through. After looking a number of companies we decided to go with Arrowhead. Rob did the site management and was at all times very professional and made the job easy. It was amazing how fast they finished the job! Though I don't think he had the crew available to do our large pool project - he did find an older tile guy do it, and this poor guy did it almost all by himself for 2 months. It was a complex job and the guy persevered. Unfortunately, Rob won't answer our calls now. My husband has called him 3 or 4 times. When we had the plaster done - the grout from Arrowhead's tile job discolored and, in some areas, didn't withstand the process and the grout is gone between the tiles. The pool will have to be drained to a certain point and the grout re-done. We're disheartened after getting to this point in a huge project. The plaster company blames the integrity of the grout used and we need Rob's expertise to determine what happened and how to fix it. I know pool companies are crazy busy right now - but we're concerned about the areas where there's no grout between the tiles. read more
