I contacted Sunset Painting for an estimate, due to the positive reviews on Yelp. Geordie responded right away and arranged to come by to look at what we needed. He is very nice, professional, and it was clear he really knew what he was talking about. In the mid-morning light, I could see that several parts of the front of our house looked like the last painter had been running out of paint. Some parts were not painted and splotches that badly needed paint were showing through. I asked Geordie to write an estimate to paint the front of the house, as well as the garage door, after we looked at the other walls and determined the whole house did not need painting right now. We had a railing and trim that needed attention, as well. He was able to recommend a way to protect the concrete parts of the balcony. He power washed parts that needed it, scraped and primed, and did a fantastic job of careful, detailed painting!! Everything was cleaned up when he left and he did a terrific job. He said they could paint interior as well as exterior walls of homes. I will definitely call them when we decide to move forward with the next painting project!

After two years, they attempted to charge me for paint when I had left, this is ofcourse their responsibility after two years. They tried to argue that it was beyond normal wear and tear. My carpet was sun bleached, they accused me of bleaching the carpet myself. Maintenance man is a jack-of-all trades and master of none. He will not stick to scheduled appointment times and has a very unsettling deameanor. The man will poorly rig things and do anything but fix it properly. After the first two dealings I decided to handle repairs myself. Cheap, cheap everything. The appliances, the blinds, the carpet, the tile... you name it. The carpet had cookie cuts throughout where spots had been cut and patched. Thresholds were not properly holding the carpet, which after 4 months started to give away completely. Bath tubs are poorly refinished and need to be replaced. Mold forms in random areas of the apartment, sometimes where it can go unseen. Very poor insulation, it is almost impossible to efficiently keep a happy climate. If you do find yourself desperate and needing a place, I would recommend that you do an initial walkthrough video. Check everything thrice! If you believe something is in poor condition, make it a point to have it marked down, regardless of what they say. If it remains in question, document it with pictures. They want your money, up until they no longer have to deal with you. To call them 'deposit hungry' would not do them justice. The apartments are cheap and need obvious improvements. They are trying to get the tenants that are leaving to pay for these improvements. These apartments are supposed to be non-smoking, but the current property manager consistently smokes from her back porch which is elevated higher than her fence. If you value your privacy, they will seem somewhat invasive. From that porch there is a bird's-eye view into Unit 20's Kitchen and Unit 19's living room. Furthermore, many young students from the nearby highschool walk through the grounds as a shortcut, they can be loud as the voices carry with little effort.
