I am quite old now despite my remarkably youthful appearance. There is too much speed in modern life for my liking. The Rose of India experience is like stepping back to a previous age of elegance. It is one of the best indian restaurants in Essex I have eaten at with efficient and friendly staff. The food is excellent with some interesting new dishes and plenty of traditional curries too. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians. The music is very nice and also the takeaways are cheaper than most restaurants in chelmsford as they give 30% discount on collection. They do not have a car park which is a bit of a pain but there are several car parks within walking distance

The service here is first class and we felt well looked after and respected. None of the usual 25 minutes wait for the bill at the end, that we seem to get in most restaurants in Essex. The decor is very stylish and modern and very helpful staff who will always try to find you a table however many of you there are. I went with 6 friends the other week and it was 45 minutes until a table was ready so the owner gave us £20 for drinks in the Beehive pub over the road! The overall service was good and food as well although they do try to upsell quite a lot when you place your order on extra side dishes. The only down side is the toilets could do with a revamp and possibly extending the car park which it seems could easily be done. Have had a takeaway as well many times now and not quite as quick as most Indians but always consistent flavour and portion sizes. I feel very lucky to have this on my doorstep, great for socialising with friends as no loud music or drunks being out of town.
