The Eaves lane shop has recently undergone a dramatic refurbishment when the main shop was taken over by the Spar group, leaving the main pie and sandwich shop intact. Avery busy venue, the quality of its produce speaks volumes, we use it as a weekly treat and enjoy meat and potato pies, with a jam slice. You can aslo choose hot soups, cakes, sandwiches and if you have a special occasion they will make and ice birthday or celebration cakes. They have also further branched into the catering business and cater for outside events. They also run a couple of small outlets. Ever popular,i can't see them ever going out of business.

Established 28 years ago. Fantasic professional cakes all sorts of designs from the traditional to really up to date way out. If I do have reason for one this is the place I will come for it.

There are a variety of hot pies on offer - steak, meat and potato, chicken and mushroom... plus some cold whist and pork pies. There's also a small selection of cakes and sweet things too. The pies are baked here on site (Bowen's bakery is in the rear) so you won't get fresher than this. The other big win here is that you can find that particularly local delicacy, the butter pie, which most folks won't have heard of if they didn't grow up within spitting distance of Preston. I love a butter pie, and whilst I've never found one which matches the ones I had in the 1980s, these are a pretty close match. Parking right outside, cheap prices and lovely photos of Chorley in days gone by on the walls. Not suitable for vegetarians or dieters, but plenty of Lancashire fayre to put a smile on your face.

The pies are my favouroite especially the steak and kidney, its so tasty. The pastry they use id the best I have had and no soggyness either. They are all made and baked fresh in the shop. The only problem I would say is the parking but if you park at the haslam park near by its only a one min walk.

I can honestly say that the beef and onion pies were as good as anhything I have ever tasted and they were the same good size we used to buy and not the shrunken kind that others now sell. I have more pies in the freezer but this shop which appears to be owned by two elderly ladies will be my source of supply in the future. The cream cakes are also delicious.

Bought a large Handleys cheese and onion pie from my local shop. It has to be the worst I have ever…read moretasted. The description should be "Handleys lumpy mashed potato pie" Virtually no cheese or onion in it and the lumps were simply uncooked pieces of spud. Given the price (over £3.00) it broke my heart to throw it in the bin but it was the only place for it.

Very nicely presented though). The tea choices were nice, and although not loose leaf, the apple and cinnamon black tea was very enjoyable. Although we didn't get chance this time, the cakes and other treats on the menu looked lovely, and it'd be nice to visit again to try them. It was also nice that despite us finishing right near their closing time, they didn't make us feel rushed to leave.

My son accidentally broke a money box, which was at a three year old's height. No signs were up to say that items needed paying for if accidentally broken. I spoke to the owner saying that he had broken something and that it was close to the edge when it fell off. I was very apologetic about the matter and honest. However the owner ( a man) was aggressive and said that I needed to pay the full retail cost for the item before leaving. As he was so intimating and overpowering saying that I couldn't leave without paying the full retail price and wouldn't accept the cost price (which is against consumer law). I was so scared and upset by this, and had to pay nearly £40 for an afternoon tea for one adult and two children. A really wouldn't buy or go to this cafe again.

I want to meet this butler and sit in his kitchen listening to him tell me amusing stories while he bakes breads--ala Jeeves and Wooster. Anyway, aside from a great name, this bakery also offers great tasty food. They have some of the nicest home baked cakes, pastries, etc that I've seen for sale in similar bakeries. I always prefer independent, small town bakeries and feel that they deserve my support, but this one is especially nice. I want to eat it up.

I would especially recommend the hot wraps they are lovely but apart from that everything in the bakery is so cheap and what a great valve for money, I recently popped in before going to catch the train and they have started making there homemade soup it was delicious! I am lucky living around the corner having such a nice bakery to shop in .
