As I live near Shrewsbury, dealing with any bike shop not in my local area let alone on the other side of the country is always a gamble. My local shops are great (on the whole) but none of them had the exact bike in that I was looking for a large framed Giant Anthem 29er. So earlier this year I decided that I would buy online and started to do some research on possible retailers. I have bought online before and have had a mixture of experiences so I was very wary. However, a friend recommended I check out All Terrain's website and I found the bike I wanted. Before ordering I called the team there up and checked on stock (yes, I've been the victim of other retailers claiming they have stock when they don't so I thought it best to check). I was assured the bike was in stock. In the course of the conversation I was invited to the shop to try out a demo. It's a long way from Shrewsbury but was assured that the shop had some great riding on the doorstep and so I booked a day off work and headed over. All I can say is that from the moment I walked in the shop I was very impressed. A great range of bikes and accessories and some very helpful staff.I was fitted up on the demo and given some precise directions to the nearest trails (which were well worth the journey alone by the wayeven makes Shropshire look a bit dull!). I came back having loved the bike and bought one on the spot. Good price and very good service. I was even offered some advice on body positioning and various other MTB related goodness and tipsone of the staff there is, from what I can make out, a VERY good MTB rider and was very helpful indeed. Since buying the bike I have ordered many times from the website and have always received great and timely service. I always find them ahead of the game on price too. They are always happy to help over the phone and I will be back to ride those trails again very shortly (once the weather improves) and may even treat myself to some summer clothes from their shop as I seem to remember seeing a very large range of clothes there. In short I cannot praise these guys enough. Very impressed indeed. read more

First class bike store. I have been to many bike shops over the years for bike accesssories and or bikes, and I have never seen as much variety of stock, compared to other bike stores. They really cater for all bikers whether it be Road, mountain, BMX etc. And the bike choice is fantastic I purchased my Giant Defy Advanced 3 Road bike earlier this year from ATC and the knowledge of the staff was fantastic in terms of matching me to the right bike and getting me on the right size bike, something Evans Cycles failed to do when i purchased a bike from them previous to this one. Evans cycles sold me a bike that was too big and then was completely unhelpfull when i complained about aches and pains caused by what i know now was too big a bike. Complete contrast to the fantastic experience i had at ATC. All Terrain cycles also provided a professional bike fit, for my road bike which was better than a previous Retul bike fit, that most people rave about. In my opinion ATC know bikes and as all, or most of the staff are bikers themselves they have the personal experience to guide you with your purchase, whether it be a new bike, a bike fit or bike accessories. This is the only store i buy my products from now, customer service is excellent. I have been to many bike stores that are local to me, but instead i travel 25 miles from home to ATC when i need something because i know i will get the products i require due to the massive stock they hold, and someone to help me if i need it. As for some of the negative comments on here i have had plenty of work done at All Terrain and never had an issue!! read more

I took my old bike for a service, knowing that it probably needed some work doing on it. I was told that it would take 7 to 10 days for them to contact me with regards to what work needed doing. I was fine with this and when they called I got a full break down of what needed repairing immediately and what was advisable to have done, but not urgent. They explained that for the work that needed doing and the cost, it might be worth me considering buying a new bike. I explained that I couldn't afford a new bike and was trying to do it on a budget. They couldn't have been more helpful in trying to fix it up as cheaply as possible. The initial quote (inc the service) was about £150. When I explained my financial situation they brought it in for me at £90. I don't know of many businesses that put such customer service before profit. One thing they recommended I have fixed was the chain. They said it wasn't urgent but it was on the way out. I decided to not get it looked at initially. As it happened it broke the first day I rode the bike. I went back to the shop and they put a new chain on there and then, not charging me for the labour, including it as part of the initial service. AVOID! I found some expensive handlebars at a relatively decent price on their website (hence their one star), and ordered them on the assumption they were in stock and could be delivered swiftly. 10 days later I get a message saying they're not in stock and that I will have to wait another 2 weeks. I thought it was common practice on e-commerce sites to advertise whether something is in stock or not. Apparently not. Either way, there was no warning that the product might not be in stock. 3 weeks later another call, apologizing for being so slow and also to tell me that the wrong colour handlebars had just arrived at their office. I can't/shouldn't swear on public forums, so I'll just say I'm really really annoyed and will never be shopping with them online ever again. They refunded my purchase soon after the above conversation and apologised. But that doesn't change the fact I've been sitting around for over a month, only to never receive my order. It's easy to go online these days, but i was so impressed with the knowledge of the staff. Its easy to find a cheap deal online but you don't always get that one to one service that is often missing with online shopping. I was impressed with how friendy and helpful the staff are at All Terrain cycles. The shop has an impressive amount of stock and got me sorted with my new Giant Tcr composite. Rides like a dream. The staff were so helpful when doing the handing the bike over and showed me how to use my brakes and gears and use my quick release wheels. overall a great shopping experience! read more

I ordered my partner a Trek mountain bike from the website and managed to save about £200 on it compared to all the other prices that I could find on the web. I had to phone the customer helpline first to get some advice as I don't really know too much about bikes and they were really helpful and pointed me in the right direction. As a live close to their wharehouse I was able to nip over and pick the bike up without having to wait for delivery. Overall I was very happy with the service I received and my partner loves her new bike. I would definitely use them again. read more

Recently I have I experienced inadequate customer service from all terrain cycles, however today it was all forgiven by the excellent communication and technical skills of Chris at all terrain. My bike was in for service with a few issues due to the bike been supplied by Halfords 'say know more'. Chris sorted it and called me to tell me my service was complete and what he had repaired/replaced on my bike. He was second to non with advice and tips to keep my bike in top shape. Always get top class service at All Terrain, which I use frequently for mtb maintenance. Staff really know their stuff, and are always very helpful, prompt, knowledgeable and good humoured. If it's a minor problem to fix and they have got the time, they will often try to fix it there and then. If not they always give an estimate of time and are very accurate with that, and the quality of their work is top class. Brilliant. read more

Poor mail order service and lack of correspondence. It has taken All Terrain Cycles 6 days to dispatch my order, surely it doesn't take that long to put something in the post especially when I paid £3.99 for delivery. without exception the worst customer service experience i have ever had ! was sent a bike that had not been pdi'd (pre delivery inspection) and when i called them to query this i was basically called a liar i would strongly recommend that any potential customer use an alternative bike shop if they want to be looked after in a professional manner massively disapointed read more

Very poor all round. The company took an order online and they called me the next day to not only say that they could not fulfuil it, but if they could the delivery cost would go from the quoted £9.99 to £95. I spoke to the MD but he blamed everyone from the website designers to the manufacturers of the bike ! Unbeleivabale and totally illegal trading. Stay away ! read more

collected my bike instore today, friendly and helpful staff, would recommend, couldnt find a cheaper deal online. paid upfront without the interest free deal and got 10% value to spend on accessories which meant i could get a helmet, peddles and some gloves. read more

Rang the shop this morning to ask if they could do a repair on my bike, was told to bring it straight over and they did the repair as I waited. Great service and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended. read more
