    Concrete Brothers

    Concrete Brothers

Concrete Brothers LLC was contacted to replace a sidewalk at my home that was in need of replacing…read more I used my tractor and trailer to remove and dispose of it prior to them coming to complete the job. The sidewalk was 42 linear feet with one 90 degree turn and 4 feet wide. 168 square feet. I paid $1,954.06 which is roughly 11.90 per square foot. The sidewalk was not stamped, stained or even edged. Google states the average cost for this job to be $6 sq foot. The good-Diego, Diego Jr., and Sarah are very nice people. They are punctual and they were able to complete my job within days of calling. The notable/bad- There is a language barrier with one of the employees not speaking English. During the pouring of the sidewalk, they didn't put in the correct request so after I paid $300 for a truck fee, they had to go to home Depot and purchase the rest of the concrete mix (not the same mix as what I paid for) to finish my sidewalk. I just happened to stop by and see the job before they put the rest of the concrete in and I didn't see rebar or wire mesh. My trash can was filled with their trash without asking (luckily, it was the day before trash pickup), screws were found in my yard as well as wedges of wood and chunks of concrete not disposed of, huge gaping holes in my yard, they didn't dig down so the sidewalk is stuck up 4" off the ground, my $200 solar lights are covered with baked and stained concrete, my driveway was caked in mud, sand, and concrete splatter which I had to have my son spend 2 hours pressure washing. 2 piles of concrete and sand mix were dumped in a gravel part of my driveway that I had done recently with washed stone and now it's disgusting. The edges are not straight, huge chunks need to be chipped away. While I was paying the check, someone was in the truck beeping for Diego to hurry and get the money and come on. See video which happens to be after I had already straightened up a lot of it and before I thought about documentation since I was so disappointed. I expect to pay premium price for premium work. However, this time I paid a premium price for less than acceptable professionalism and product. After this review, I was contacted asking why I had left a negative review. Please see screenshot of our communication. Not so sure how I feel about the nice part anymore. They have, as of now, removed their business profile from Facebook. Hinson Concrete

I hired Hinson Concrete to pour me a slab with footings for my new detached garage. The slab was…read moreto be 24x24. I had the spot in my lawn marked out clearly with white paint. The had it formed up 4' further back than I wanted it. It was going to be a lot of work to move it, so I agreed to let it stay. They formed it up using 1x4" as the kickers which resulted in the slab bowing out on a couple sides (see pictures). But the real problem was the slab's finished dimensions were 24"x24"x24"x23'6" The concrete blocks in the pictures represent what SQUARE is. You can easily see how far it is out. The second picture show you the huge bow in the wall. This made it impossible to build my garage. After speaking with the building inspector, I relayed to them what needed to be done. They needed to add 1' on one side and gradually increase to 18" on the other to make up for the 6" being short and to square the slab. I had it all staked out where exactly the new forms had to be placed. They came out and did the repairs at no charge. They formed it up this time using 2x6" for the kickers and drove the supports in the ground deeper, which did support the weight. After they pulled the forms off, I measured it later that day. THEY SCREWED IT UP AGAIN! Now it was 25'x25'x'25'x24' 6". They made the exact same mistake they did the last time. Instead of following my markers, they went back to measuring it corner to corner. This lead them to the same mistake. One of his helpers, Joe, also lays blocks. So Joe agreed to lay the blocks to get me a square foundation at a discounted price. Joe never showed up and never called me back. I called out 3 different black masons to lay the foundations. The first guy that came out couldn't stop laughing. He suggested that next time I need concrete that I hire a professional instead of doing it myself. I told him a professional did it. He laughed once again and said that NO PROFESSIONAL did that job. The second guy took one look and said it would be too much work and left. The third guy was able to complete it at a price 4x times than was Joe was going to do it for. So because I got a crappy concrete job, I had to pay a lot more money to get something that I could actually build on and I am still left with a varying ledge that I have to figure out what to do. I emailed Richard asking him to share half the cost of the block guy, but never heard back from him. If he had got back to me, I would have just let it go as it is. You can see in the last pictures what I finally ended up with. A crooked slab and at least a 6" overhang that I can't do much about. I am looking into my legal options as I write this review. He might be fine for non precise concrete work, but if you need something exact, you may want to look elsewhere. This is really a crappy job that you will never see him post photos of on his page. He should be embarrassed for the job being such and experienced concrete man.
