First of all, the staff there, especially Trish and Robin, are friendly and try to be helpful. I had a couple different repairs (brakes, etc) done, and that seemed to be done well and competently. That ended when I had a more involved repair that I trusted them with. I brought in my 2016 Jeep in April 2025 to have the lifters and rockers replaced, as there was a classic ticking noise. As of this writing, the jeep is still there. Leo was the mechanic who worked on it, and he had said he does not do much mechanical work anymore. I was told by one of the staff members that Leo probably should have another mechanic do the repairs, but that the other mechanic (their top guy, who I believe is good) would be keeping an eye on the situation. Leo even told me afterward that he "does not wrench anymore" and focuses on the towing part of the business. The repairs were delayed several days as Leo needed to order parts. I finally brought the vehicle in, and it then took longer than I was told, as Leo needed to order additional parts and tools that were not part of the initial repairs. I went in in the middle of the repairs, and saw the Jeep. The front timing cover was off (not part of the normal repair protocol), there was oil everywhere, sand/cat litter all over the running boards and around the engine, and there appeared to be debris in the engine. Leo assured me that everything was going fine, and the engine actually looked remarkably good inside, with no scorring of components, engine internals looked clean and good, etc... ). Leo also told me it was taking him longer than expected, and that he had spent the better part of the weekend reviewing YouTube videos to learn how to do the repairs. When I picked the vehicle up several days later, there was a new, engine banging sound, that had not been present. Leo was unable to figure out the new noise, and I drove the vehicle less than 3 miles, it shut down, went into limp mode, made horrible grinding noises, and was pouring oil out of the bottom of the engine. I took video of this. As of now, August 2025, I have no vehicle. The owner, Tom, had the vehicle towed, without my knowledge or consent, to a shop in Brattleboro. My understanding is that they did not do any work. I have spoken with several mechanics and experts, shown them the videos and pictures, and have been told that the repair was likely botched and the engine now needs to be replaced. After numerous conversations with Tom, including being yelled at and berated over the phone, I attempted to reach a reasonable compromise, and was told that all they would offer was to not charge me for the "repairs." So, basically, I am being told they will not charge me for destroying my engine. My last email to Tom was over a month ago, and he has not responded. I have filed a complaint with the Vermont Attorney General Consumer Protection Division, and will update this posting as things progress. read more

The serpentine belt on my Ford Explorer broke on my way into work last week causing sudden failure of just about all systems. It happened near a Midas shop who was able to replace the broken tensioner, pulleys, and belt. As they were doing so, they discovered that a plastic engine cover had been cracked and oil was leaking from it. They advised that it was a very costly repair (about $1,000) and that the required part would take a few days to get so they suggested I go directly to my local service station to complete the repair. I returned to Bennington where my usual mechanic confirmed the diagnosis and cost but said it was too big a job for them. They said I should probably take the car to the local dealership. I knew that was going to be the most expensive route possible and asked if there was another HONEST mechanic in the area that I could TRUST and they suggested All Service Citgo. Andy, confirmed what I had been told and explained that replacing the cover required about 7 hours of labor which is why it was so costly. He also said there was another way to address the issue which was extremely effective but at about 10% of the estimated cost. WHO DOES THAT? The people I will be taking my vehicles to from now on, that's who. I spoke with others in the area and heard only great things about the team at All Service Citgo. I am VERY HAPPY with the experience and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! read more

Amazing fast and affordable service! Late Saturday night I was up in the Green Mountains in a Chevy Malibu and we hit a random metal post sticking about 8 inches out of the ground. Scraped up the whole bottom of my car and dislodged the flex pipe that holds up the exhaust piping and catalytic converter. They were dragging on the ground, no way to drive the car. We got a tow to this place Saturday night at about 2:30AM finally. They weren't open on Sunday so we had to wait until Monday for service and camp out in a local hotel. But we expressed to the head mechanic (I think his name was Pete? Maybe) the urgency of getting back to CT ASAP. They had it fixed by the end of the day and only charged me for one hour of labor. The best part is that the part we needed for a total fix would have taken two days to come in cause they had to order it. These creative guys used a metal hanger and rigged it up anyway so it was completely safe to drive until we could get a better service at home. Great bunch of local mechanics! Thanks guys! read more

We had a fantastic experience here. Dropped in and were seen within an hour. Oil changed, special attention to tires, fluids, and belts (our Subaru just rolled over 200K miles). We asked Garrett to take a look at our AC that had died a while back. We had been quoted at hundreds of dollars in the past, but he found one issue with the belt that runs the compressor, replaced it for free (with just a bit added to the total for labor), and we have working AC again for a fraction of what we thought it would cost! This company towed my van. Not only did they scrape the bumper, dragging it across the entire driveway when they were unloading it off the flatbed truck... they damaged the passenger side front fender. Then they agreed to pay for said damages and asked us to get an estimate. I did this. Drove a half hour to Bennington, to have him (Peter) tell me that he wasn't going to pay for any of the damages. I will NEVER use them again for ANYTHING. They are liars and are unprofessional . read more

Our car started screeching while we were visiting the area, so we called AAA and they sent a tow truck from All Service Citgo and I am so glad they did. Everyone went above and beyond to help us. We got many recommendations of places to walk to while we waited for our car to be serviced. The service was faster than we expected and all of the employees were very friendly. They found a small pebble that had gotten in one of the brakes that caused the horrific screeching. They ended up not charging us (even though we tried to convince them to let us pay) since it was an easy fix and they even saved the pebble for us. We are moving to the area soon and they certainly won my business for years to come! read more

I had a wonderfully positive experience at All Service Citgo where my father takes his car.My 2004 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport was having a streak of bad luck, &All Service Citgo was able to fix it after other places didn't do the full repair, which led to a series of problems. All Service Citgo found a tight valve on the 4th cylinder, which had caused my car to idle rough, lose power, &the check engine light would not shut off, and would turn on blink three times, shut off, than do the same thing 3x more. Thank you to All Service Citgo for solving the problem promptly, efficiently, and without breaking the bank. --------- The background for those interested: I had the Headgasket Repair done by Bennington Subaru in July of 2014 at 148,736 miles. After 27,159 miles in December of 2015, my timing belt failed on Interstate 95 in Maine, and I had my car towed to Portland, which was where I was heading. I took it to Paulin's Tire and Auto Care on Forest Ave who said the reason it failed was the idler pulley failed. Upon inspection of my records, I learned that Bennington Subaru never replaced nor asked me if I wanted to get the Timing Belt Kit on a car that may or may not have ever had the idler pulley replaced. Stranded in Maine with all 16 cylinders of my engine ruined, I could not afford to shop for a car, & opted instead of towing my car home (should have) to have Paulin's find decent used heads or certified used engine. They found me some used heads, which I was aware of the risk. My car was in the shop there for 10 days. The day I picked it up, they ran the car idle a bit and showed me how to put in more coolant if the air bubbles pushed fluid out. Then the check engine light came on. They took it in to run it on the computer, which diagnosed it as a misfire. They mentioned something about the 4th cylinder, then basically brushed it off because "if you lived closer we could have you come in after 200 miles or so and tune it up". I asked if I'd be okay to drive my car to VT and they said I should be and they suggested I drive it around the area and if I had any issues to call them. Having never had this problem before I was hesitant to take my car, but felt since it was there so long they had done their job (mistake). I paid $2551.83 for this job, and I apparently had denied machining the engine because it cost too much, which of course, I do not have in writing, as when the manager found the part he called me 10 minutes before the place he was going to get the part closed and rushed me through the phone call,giving me the rough estimate of the cost and date of completion. Paulin's did document excellently what had failed on my car so I could show Bennington Subaru, who still denies that they were negligent in their service, which was part of their 30,000/90,000 mile service. I drove the car from Paulin's 1 mile to my friends' house where I had to stay for the 10 days I was in Maine with a broken car. In that time it idled very rough & thought it was going to stall. I drove it to the next town & it idled very rough & felt/sounded strange when driving. I called Paulin's to tell them it was idling very rough, & got the same, "well, if you lived closer" deal. It was 3 days before Christmas, they knew I was from out of state & perhaps wanted to not spend more time on my car. I drove the 218 miles home to Bennington, VT and when I stopped for gas in Keene, NH I again thought my car was going to stall out. I called Paulin's after Christmas to tell them it was idling rough. They had me speak with the mechanic who confirmed it was the 4th cylinder that had been misfiring& that he adjusted all the valves the best he could to get the timing right. I would have expected Paulin's, whom I was referred to by a friend, to have not sent me home with a car improperly working, knowing what a 4th cylinder misfire meant. All Services Citgo was able to look at my car, & determine that the 4th cylinder was indeed misfiring & the value was tight. My car runs much better, it does not idle rough, and the check engine light is not on. In addition to the money I spend at Bennington Subaru for this major repair, which failed, in which I spent ~$2500 on in Maine, I have now spent $302 additional dollars on something that Paulin's Tire and Auto Care of Forest Ave in Portland, Maine could have fixed themselves instead of sending me home with an almost fixed car after I stated to them it wasn't working right before I even left Maine. I called Paulin's about this before All Services Citgo fixed it, and they claim it is my fault for not having them machine the heads, when in reality it was that the valve on the 4th cylinder was not adjusted correctly. I will never again go to Bennington Subaru or Paulin's Tire and Auto Care and I do not plan to recommend them to anyone unless you completely understand your car (which I do now) and know when to question them about their work or lack thereof. read more

It would've been late August or early September and my husband and daughter were finishing their hike on the Appalachian trail when our car broke down in North Adams Massachusetts. We were towed to the station for repairs. They were the only ones that could get our car fixed and running the next day which was critical to our timeline. They were absolutely the most helpful people in helping us obtain lodging. We were also able to rent a U-Haul truck there so I could get my husband and daughter out to the AT the next day.
