With our blistering heat and stormy weather in Y-S, we needed our roof inspected. We contacted 3 top-rated roofing companies. Ved's Roofing impressed us the most + his quote came in significantly lower than the other local competitors. Ved is friendly, knowledgeable, and a highly skilled professional. He was respectful in his approach and wasn't pressuring us to sign with him. The contract was detailed and accurate. Additional work for dry rot repairs was fair and reasonable. Ved takes pride in doing all the roofing work and teams with his helper, Jordan. There was no subcontractor hired to do the tear-off work. Ved is meticulous in overseeing the entire roofing project with Jordan assisting him. They both worked tirelessly all morning, efficiently focused on getting the roof done. They arrived early in the morning, on time and worked throughout the mornings. Clean-up was consistently done before leaving. All roofing materials, debris / trash was hauled away. Ved kept us updated, especially if there were any additional concerns or changes. We trusted Ved's judgement. It took about a week with prepping the roof, replacing all the dry rots (under the eaves) with new wood panels + laying out the shingles. We decided to install new (fine mesh) gutter guards + replace the Sun Tunnel skylights. The final outcome was done with perfection. Ved and Jordan went above and beyond to give us a great looking roof that will last beyond our lifetime. BTW: We chose Certainteed Landmark Pro Solaris asphalt shingles for their impressive reviews from the pro roofers seen on YouTube. It comes with a 50 yr limited (one-time) transferable warranty. It's an upgrade, but well worth it. These contrasting shingles are wider, heavier and thicker. There's more architectural dimensional pattern design on the shingles. Certainteed has manufactured new technology in their reflective shingles for a cooler roof, protection from fire, algae, and wind resistance. Read all about it on their website. Certainteed warranty is one of the best in the business. All the pro roofers are installing this on their own roof. If you're considering a new roof, the best choice is Ved's Roofing and using Certainteed Landmark Pro Solaris. We highly recommend Ved and glad we made the call for the best roofing choice. They provided the cost up front with no surprises and took the time to explain exactly how they planned to install my new roof vent. The installation day was especially hot, and instead of rushing the job, they suggested coming later in the evening so the roof would be cooler and they wouldn't leave shoe marks on the shingles. That level of care really impressed me. I truly appreciated how they treated my roof as if it were their own. They may not have many reviews yet, but they were prompt, professional, reliable, and did great work. I highly recommend Arellano's!

This unfortunately was not the case with this larger project....paint, new flooring and backsplash and installation of medicine cabinets, lighting and toilet. I provided all materials which I purchased prior to the start of my project which ended up being the first week of January due to the holidays. My biggest problem with Diego was communication. I was never kept updated on delays to workers or himself showing up when promised and always felt that my job was put on the back burner for other customers with larger jobs. The tile man, Jeremy was amazing. He had my floor and backsplash done in a day and a half which included a backsplash in my guest bathroom and the work was beautiful. And then I waited and waited and waited. The painter, Jeff, not so good. He didn't take off any light covers, door pulls or tape anything off. Consequently I had a lot of cleanup as there was paint on many hinges, my shower surround next to the door moulding, the switch covers and door pulls and splatters on my new floor tile. Sloppy and unprofessional work. I talked to Diego and sent pictures on February 5th. He promised to come out in a week as he had become a new father but that's the last I've heard from him and it's the end of March. Diego is very friendly and fun to talk to and he himself does meticulous work. It's the other aspects of his business that definitely need work.

With the rain that started a little over a week ago, I noticed a stain on the ceiling of my living…read moreroom. I wasn't 100% sure if it had always been there and I just happened to notice it now or if it was new from the rain. Not too concerned I went about my life. Fast forward to a few days ago, I noticed a second stain about 12 inches from the first stain and thats when I had figured that I for sure have a leak in my roof. With the weather forecast showing a lot of rain coming New Year's Eve, I started to worry and went up to the attic myself to see if I could find the leak and just how bad it was and maybe stop it if not slow it down. Well I found it, but because of how water runs, I could not tell if it was just one leak or multiple areas running together. I YouTubed how to find and fix leaks because I didn't want to spend a fortune on a roof that I might have been able to do myself for cheap. A couple of hours of videos later, I felt defeated and decided to let something like this get handled by professionals because I wasn't confident I could find the leak(s) on the roof and if I could even fix it for sure. On top of that, I was not trying to unintentionally or accidentally fall through my ceiling causing more damage or slip and fall off my wet roof and kill myself. ***** I went on Yelp to do research and ended up requesting quotes from a few businesses with a lot of good reviews for roofing in my area but didn't expect any response due to it being the weekend and New Year's Eve. The next day (New Years) I find out the rain was so bad that it flooded and shut down the highway by my house. My worry now was I was not the only one in my area that was going to need a roof fixing and with rain that is forecasted to not stop for the next several days or more, I was not going to get any help anytime soon or until the leak got worse and more expensive to possibly fix.... ***** Well Sam from Academy Roofing was the only one that answered! He said he had several jobs he already had to take care of but he would come by first thing Tuesday morning (today) to take a look. He called early this morning and said he would come by at 0900 hrs. He showed up at 0850 hrs which was right on time and was very professional. He looked at the stain, looked at where it was located in reference to my fireplace and the other parts of my house, asked me a few questions about the timeline of the leak and then headed up on the roof. He came down a short time later after pinpointing exactly where the leak was and advised me it was just a broken tile and he could easily fix it right now. The cost he gave me was very reasonable and waayyyyy less than I was anticipating. I was relieved he could do it right away and not have to come back later due to whatever reason like not having the parts or equipment or not having the time to do it right away. My biggest worry was that I was going to pay an arm and leg to fix the roof since I am sure if he wanted , he could have quoted me anything and make up any reason why and where I had a leak(s) and I would just pay it because I wouldn't be able to know if he was lying and because I knew it was going to start raining again nonstop soon, I would just get it over with. That being said, Sam is very honest, sincere, and fair. I'm usually a pretty good judge of character (law enforcement is my profession) since I deal with bad guys a lot. Even though I only dealt with him for a short time today, I can say with confidence that he is a good guy and does good work. Don't get "okie doked" by desperate roofing companies that want to milk you and take advantage of a situation. Give Academy Roofing a call for all your roofing needs! Take care and stay safe!
