I was informed of a price around $200-300 for single or both springs, plus labor (which many places would not provide unless I had them come out first). It seems like the price could vary depending on the garage door style, size, and weight. Also, another place had quoted me $485 right off the bat therefore this was the best option so far. They let me know that the technician would have all the necessary parts and tools for whatever option I go with (very convenient). Technician Sam called me to notify he was on the way and when he arrived outside. Upon arrival, he inspected our garage and said it would be more than quoted since I had a heavy door (~$400-500). He provided us with two different priced options, differing in expected lifespan and labor (~$100) warranties. The job was estimated to take around 30 mins, depending on if there was complications with the existing parts. Sam was very professional and knowledgeable with all the mechanics and components. He let us know more about what we had installed and what could potentially fail or cause us issues in the future. He also gave us recommendations on how to properly maintain the garage door to prolong it's functionality and life. After we made our choice, he began working right away. During this time, he came to get our attention and let us know that the bearings needed to be replaced soon and we just asked him to do them since it was already disassembled and the labor cost was flat rate. It all ended up taking closer to an hour, and despite the higher than anticipated expense... we felt very assured and satisfied with the outcome we received. They were pretty pushy and basically didn't have any answers. I would ask them, then they would have to ask someone else? You don't know how much your services cost? After they finally gave me a quote, I asked them to also provide pricing for just the door with installation, no opener, and they told me that if I had anymore questions then I needed to call. Simple question, simple answer. Also, why would you have people responding bro Yelp messages that don't know how to provide rough estimates? A little advice from someone who is in business myself - teach the people answering yelp messages about your pricing, and focus more on customer service than winning the job. When we contacted this company the person that answered the phone indicated they would come out and…read moreprovide a "free estimate" for any repair that would be needed. I already knew the safety sensors were not working but wasn't sure what the issue might be. The technician arrived and I explained what I had already done to troubleshoot the issue, including installing new sensors. He indicated it was likely the wires or the circuit board inside the opener itself. I asked if he could simply test to see if power was getting to the sensors before running new wires. He connected a new wire to one of the sensors he removed from its bracket and said, yes that's the problem, you need new wires ran from the opener to the sensors. So I asked "what would that charge be?". He indicated he would charge $50 + $175 =$225.00. I opted not to have him run the wires. He then said the charge would then just be $175. He said it was for his "experience and for his time to come to our house". I asked so what was the "free estimate?" By his definition, the "Free Estimate" was simply him showing up, but I needed to pay for his expertise. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO GET A FREE ESTIMATE OF THE WORK NECESSARY TO RESOLVE YOUR GARAGE DOOR ISSUE.
