After much thoughtful deliberation I hired Design and Build Landscape to remove old shrubbery and…read moreplant new shrubbery in the front and side of our home. From beginning to end, Lance and Robert provided a professional, careful approach to the project. The crew was careful, neat and specific with the planting and I am so very happy with the end result. Our HOA uses these people and I have NO idea why. They come for the day, and mostly sleep under the…read moretrees or play on their phones working only half the day. The work they do is a joke. They trim bushes only what they can reach, so the tops or backs of bushes grow wild and they look ridiculous. For what we pay them we are getting completely ripped off. I would definitely shop elsewhere.

1st of all, the owner of Giannis should be ashamed & embarrassed about how his crew cut The Saltbox…read morein Amityville off Broadway. I landscaped for 10yrs myself & this crew either wasn't trained or dont give a shit because the owner would never know its cut, trimmed & edged like a blind 2yr old did it. Also, they replaced all the hedges about 2yrs ago & havent maintained the beds since. Thier all mossy & weedy. The lawn dosent even look cut, they mow it too fast with the blades too high. The owner has been called numerous times to spot check & nothing has changed but why would he care, he's got a plethora of accts, into real estate & whatever else...besides unless the renters, (who pay for said services in thier rent) address the issue, the dumhass landlord/owner wouldnt know to complain, so why change ?? BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES !!

Other companies quoted unreasonable prices with long wait times, but John responded immediately and provided a very fair estimate. He even took the time to ensure the lawn was perfectly restored afterward. I was so impressed that I hired him again to install a new sprinkler zone. Both times, he was incredibly patient, clearly explaining the issues and the solutions. His work was fast, amazing, and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

There's the rare occasion where they don't come on the scheduled day, but it's always weather related. I asked Jeff, the owner of JRS Lawncare to give me an estimate for a garden design and for a…read morebrick/stone border for a flower bed. He discussed his ideas and he seemed like he was knowledgeable. He said he would draw up a plan and estimate and come back in a week. He was supposed to show up @10:30. I waited for about an hour and left texts and voicemails. Finally, a woman texted and said they would reach out to Jeff. I got a call back from his partner Joe who said Jeff was on the eastern end of LI. (I am in Lindenhurst, western L.I. Jeff 's company is in Lindenhurst). He said Jeff's truck broke down. I asked why someone didn't call and tell me that he was stuck. His partner said Jeff's phone died. Also, I asked Joe how he was able to call Jeff if Jeff's phone died. Joe replied that he used a walkie talkie. I asked why Jeff then didn't tell Joe on the walkie talkie to tell us he wasn't coming. My husband and I thought the excuse was weak. We made new arrangements for Jeff to bring plans & estimates for the following Friday but he never showed. That is after I sent a text with the date and time so he wouldn't forget and he never showed up the second time. Again I sent voicemail and texted and again I got no call back. I never got a chance to see what kind of work Jeff or Joe do but at the end of the day if someone can't give you the respect in returning your calls, if you do use them they won't come back if you have a problem. It does not matter how good their work is. Jeffs company had a 5 star review but I am learning that perhaps those reviews can come from friends and family. Remember there are so many landscapers on Long Island to choose from. I have to thank the JRS Landcare for showing me early on how ill mannered they are. Hopefully you get one that shows you curtesy and respect.
