I want to first start off by saying thank you to Mr. George Hauk for the hard work and dedication…read moreyou and your team put in to fixing my car. I went through three months of hell with my car. It had an issue that something was going on and fuel wasn't getting to where it needed to to make my car start. My boyfriend first checked the fuses and felt that maybe the fuel relay had blown. We went to Autozone bought a new fuse replaced it and the car started. We figured great that was an easy fix! Nope! The car started to continously do this. We kept buying fuses and kept changing them out but then a friend of ours who is studying mechanics checked all the fuses and said none of them had blown. Then our friend took everything apart on my car checking this and checking that and the car started acting right. For a week the car had no issues so we took it to Gulf Shores, AL, for a weekend getaway. We got to the hotel and parked. I noticed I parked crooked in the garage so I wanted to straighten her out. That's when the car wouldn't start. We started to mess with fuses, but we were exhausted and it was late so we said maybe by morning she would want to start again. Well, that morning she wouldn't start. We called the dealership there for Chevy and they were closing. We called the only repair place that they had which was Pep Boys. They would be open Saturday and Sunday and said they would take a look at it. We had the car towed there. The tow truck driver was nice enough to drive us back to our hotel. About two hours later Pep Boys called and said that it was the Fuel Pump. They said they couldn't get the part till Monday but we had to leave Sunday. They said they normally don't let this happen but if we found the part they would put it on so we could get home. We got a taxi to drive us to a Pensacola, Fl to auto zone who had the fuel pump we needed. Sunday morning brought it to Pep Boys and at 3 pm they were finished. Picked the car up it started just fine. We drove about two miles up the road to eat. Went inside had supper and then we go to leave the car stalled. We got fuel from a gas station up the road and added it. Then changed the relays around and it started. We left ASAP and decided from then on until we got home we wouldn't turn the car off! When we got back we called Southern Chevy in Lecompte and asked if they could take a look. They took it in two days before Christmas and called us within a day and said they changed my spark plugs and cleaned some coils that were dirty and it was up and running. Went and picked it up drove it home. An hour later went to go to town and it wouldn't crank. The next day Southern Chevy took it back and kept it Christmas Weekend and was nice and gave us a loaner vehicle. It took them about three days after Christmas to call us and say it was fixed. They said that they felt Pep Boys did not change my fuel Pump but that it shouldn't matter it wasn't the problem anyway. There was corrosion and rust and dirt on some wires that went to the fuel pump and some other things that they cleaned up and that it's been running fine since they did that. Got the car back and it worked fine for about two days and then again it started up. We were at this point fed up and decided that it was still working when we switched the fuses around so we would do that. About a month later we decided to call Hauk's. We were trying to decide where to take it at first but my dad, David Nagy, suggested Hauk's and my fiancee, Joshua Monaghan, had used them before for his vehicles. We made the right choice. The first thing that was changed was the ECM. We picked it up and had it about four hours and it stalled again. The shop had closed early on Friday and that's when I contacted them on Facebook because I wanted them to know as early as possible something was still wrong. Mr. Hauk personally contacted me and apologized and asked me to please let them make it right and bring it back. I told him that was my plan and that Tuesday when I knew Mr. Hauk would be there I brought it in. On Friday, he called and told us the car was ready. He said the first thing they checked was the fuel Pump because we told them we felt Pep Boys hadn't changed it. To get to that you have to drop my whole fuel tank. He did and brought the pump to his distributor and in fact the part was an after market part which meant Pep Boys had indeed changed the fuel pump. So the next thing they looked at was the fuse block itself. We had told him we kept smelling gas, the fuse block would be hot, sometimes smelt burning smell, and also that if we took fuses out and put them back in and swapped around it would work. They then changed the whole fuel block out and low and behold that was the issue. My car has been running perfectly since then! The one thing Hauk's did that the other places didn't was that he listened to us. He also made it right and fixed the issue without giving up! Thanks again! We appreciate you! Bring your issues to Hauk's!
