Shady business practices and terrible customer service. Disputes now go to a 3rd party thats located somewhere abroad. I do not recommend.

I regularly use the Fitchburg branch in the old KMart Plaza. Until recently, they were lovely to…read morework with. They have since changed all their employees for the worst. I wait, and wait at the drive through. They are less than friendly. It's too bad when people in service positions hate their jobs. Certainly would no longer recommend this bank.

This bank acquired my bank and as such some of the rates and conditions are grandfathered in, but I…read morewould not go with them otherwise and am unsure I will stay with them. The departure of a significant number of the existing staff within weeks of the announcement of the planned merger was telling. The process was not transparent. Supposedly the smaller bank which was usually empty of customers was not in any financial trouble and the merger was due to accountholder demand for more branch locations. I don't think so. The other advantage we were supposed to be thrilled about was insurance for deposit amounts over the FDIC limits. In Fitchburg? Seriously? Maybe in the Stow branch. The transition did go smoothly, as account balances transferred correctly and statements were accurate, but communications regarding it were flawed - for example, references were made to previous communications that were never sent, and an incorrect transition date was given. The phone lines were also flooded despite extended hours and you could not get through or had long hold times. Fidelity is all about the jargon. They can't just say "Checking" or "Savings". It's LifeDesign Free II or CareFree Discover (no relation to Discover card) or other gobbledygook. I am not impressed. For better rates try an online bank, for better service try a credit union. If changing direct deposits and withdrawals were not such an inconvenience I would be gone.

20 minute line and one teller open (while the floor manager paced around waiting for her delivery…read moreto arrive from Chipotle!) and once I got to the window, it took no less than 25 minutes, four signatures, showing my i.d. twice and the teller consulting with manager, who was, by the amount of time it took, deep into her bag of Chipotle, to exchange three $100 bills for smaller bills and two rolls of quarters. It almost feels like they have made this process thirty times more difficult than it needs to be (or ever was) to discourage people from doing in-person banking. Boo.

Look elsewhere DCU has gone down the tubes with regards to every facet of service, I'm sure they…read morewould be quick to loan money or open an account that benefits them. I've been a customer since inception as I worked for DEC which was the company that started DCU. thats over 35 years... and I'm fed up with the mediocre service at best. Everything I do with them now from CC points, reporting a card issues, calling in for something I can't do online is nothing but frustration and waiting... 20 minutes right now waiting for a customer service rep from the rewards company they hired to manage the DCU platinum rewards. Not so bad as it was a 30min plus minute wait to report a lost CC all while listening to a recording tell me how important I am..... Oh and I had to call the VISA office directly because it was after hours, who could only do a report and notify DCU when they opened that my card was lost. I also have account at IC Federal Credit union, someone answers the phone almost immediately, yes a person.. I'm done with DCU. Don't get me wrong DCU was great at one point but who ever is running it now has abandoned the customer service that made them what they are today.. which I guess is too big to care??
