He won't treat your child as a human and talk them through the process. This location would much rather fumble over themselves to find instruments for the procedure. While talking over each other and repeatedly asking if the same instrument is a completely different instrument over and over after being given the same answer..over and over. This place is amateur hour when amateurs are also running the show. Picture that. No clue how this place is in business. Save yourself the stress and more, save your child the torment. My daughter started going here in 2018 and the mood was totally different. They let her touch all the tools before they put anything in her mouth which made her feel comfortable and safe and they spoke to her with respect. She went back today and they did an adequate job, basically what you'd expect from an adults dentist office. My younger child has been here twice and has had terrible experiences both times. He was visibly nervous walking in but the woman didn't even look up from the computer, she just said "sit him down". When I tried to pick him up to put him on the seat he swatted my hands away and the employee said "you'd better not hit your mom because you can't come home with me," which was the first and last time anyone spoke directly to him. They literally only spoke to him to make him feel more scared. It should be understood that some toddlers won't walk in the door excited to have weird machines put in their mouths. There should be training for that, or at least screen employees for compassion and gentleness. When she saw he was distressed she called over other nurses to hold him down instead of trying to make him feel safe and cared for. Maybe there are staff shortages or they're burned out and I get that, but there just has to be special consideration if you're calling yourselves a children's dentist. I'm not mad at the staff, just at the false advertising. Sensitive kids beware. read more

I brought my two boys, ages 5 and 2, for their first real dentist appointment ever. The process at AKPD was extremely smooth. The hygienists and dentist were extremely personable and worked well with children. They were patient with my screaming 2 year old and his meltdown didn't slow them down. It was so quick and easy! We've been a total of 3 times and will no go back. After the first cleaning, we scheduled for fillings and crowns for cavities and the last two visits have been horrible. The dentist is rude- she doesn't have any patience for our 4 or 6 year old. She gave no effort to explain our options, rolled her eyes at my husband, and was insistent on rescheduling our visits when our kids "calmed down". Their behavior was typical of a 4 year old who had never had a cavity filled and the dentist's treatment of him old escalated his fear. We wont be back. read more

Such an excellent dentist's office for kids. My son is not a big fan but they were so calm and patient, which really mattered when I felt defeated because I couldn't get him to open his mouth. But, they were patient and kind and worked with me to calm him down, talk to him, and get him in a positive mindset, which is so important. The hygienist and dentist were great. Reception was lacking. I was told at check in that there was an outstanding balance from 2021!! I asked why wasn't I told about it before the appointment so I could be prepared. The response was we called your husband ONCE in 2021 and left a message. Mind you they have my number, work number and email and they never contacted me about the balance. They called me multiple times to make an appointment but never once was it mentioned that money was owed. When asked they said that they have a call service that calls for appointments and not them. They took no responsibility for the issues and just "apologized" for the confusion. They said that I would have to pay half now to even be seen Or I'd have to reschedule . I paid it but it was decremental to me due to lacking financial ability before payday. Which they wouldn't allow me to pay in 4 days even with me offering automatic withdrawal from my account. I asked to speak to the office manager and I was told that they would pass along the message to her. I asked if I could have a number to call her and I was told she would call me at "some point" Needless to say I don't have an issue with paying what I owe but needing to be informed BEFORE walking into an appointment that I missed work for and my son missed school for. read more

I love this location my son's been coming here since he started getting teeth and they have ALWAYS been so friendly and patient my son is 6 so you can imagine how sometimes a dentist appointment can go but they always make it so fun for him, their very informative of the things that look great or what steps should be best for the future appointments. They get us in and out in a great timely manner and always work with you with what appointments work best for your schedule I recommend this dentist office to everyone 10/10. read more

I was shocked at their rigidity to schedule an afternoon appointment for my kindergartener. As a teacher, I requested an appointment after school hours for my 5yo and was told they "don't work on children his age after 12". I plead with them to give us an afternoon appointment and they refused - and by afternoon I mean 3pm. They are open until 5. Will be moving to a practice that works with their patients. read more

Took my son here a total of three times. The first two visits were just fine. A typical dentist visit. The third time they refused to see him until they got additional paperwork from another provider he had seen (nothing in his medical history had changed between appointments- the requested documentation was from before his first visit.) They told me they would call me back to schedule a new appointment, after they got the document from the provider. (I couldn't provide it) and I never heard back. Third time here with an appointment at 8:30. Every appointment so far it takes almost an hour including the wait times for appointment and/or then waiting on the dentist. This is for a 3/4 year old aged teeth cleaning that only takes about 15 minutes. Not sure why every time it is always so backed up early on in the day. All Kids Pediatric Dentistry is absolute trash. NEVER take your kids here. Scheduling is HELL and they have complete disregard for their patients teeth or well being. My daughter needed caps put it on due to having extra soft enamel (it's hereditary) causing cavities in the her top 4 front teeth. They have rescheduled her 4 times (twice before the corona virus was even an issue) my daughter is in pain and her teeth continue to break down further and further almost to her gum line. I'm not even sure there is a way for them to be restored at this point. If all kids Pediatric Dentistry would have put the caps on WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO none of this would be an issue. And now they are telling me they may just have to extract them AS IF THAT ISNT A BIG DEAL! My daughter is 1 years old!! She can not have anesthesia or medicine to help with pain and she shouldn't have even had to deal with this to begin with!! This was due to their NEGLIGENCE! And now my child will have to suffer. We are going for second opinions somewhere else as this place is an absolute NIGHTMARE! If I could give 0 stars I could. FAST FORWARD TO JUNE 4, 2020- went in to get the caps. Was informed they could not save the teeth (I already knew this would happen) they said they wanted to pull them while she was awake. They also recommended getting a second opinion, which I was obviously going to do after the nerve of this place. Then I receive a letter in the mail informing me they would not take my daughter as a patient any longer because i decided to get a second opinion EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD ME TO. Well it doesn't matter to me anyways because i was never planning on going back there. I 100% blame them for my daughter having to get her teeth pulled. They were my children's first dentist. Im blown away by this extremely unprofessional and slacking office. It was super nerve wracking for me as a Mom to be in a unfamiliar city with nothing to go off of...and just trying to get my son out of pain. I am so, so grateful I found this office. I appreciate the precautions they have taken along with their transparency during this Pandemic. They were also willing to work with me with more options and was in close communication. Went there for my son's appointment. Clearly had a mix up with the dates, asked for a note so that he could be excused from the few hours of school he missed and they refused! I absolutely loved them but then they dismissed my kids because I was late today. It took longer then expected to get my son out of school so I was going to be 18 minutes late and they dismissed my kids because apparently this was the third time being late or canceling, the first cancel was because one of my kids had a fever and they made me reschedule and the second time I couldn't get off of work and they set it as a no call no show even though I canceled. Had to find an all new dentist for all 4 of my kids. Other than that they were great. read more

The staff they had a year ago seem to be gone except for a one maybe two associates their customer service then was how it should be. Dr Mujica and all her staff from customer service to the clinical staff are amazing. Every experience there is good. They take very good precautions throughout the pandemic and take it very serious. There is never a wait time. It is very clean. The online forms were easy to complete and fill out. The previous one star comments are very shocking to hear. I think if your child has cavities and are to blame the dentist for negligence you are pointing your finger to the wrong person. A child who has cavities is due to lack of brushing at home or poor nutrition and that is negligence. Im sorry but please Educate yourself. I have used this dentistry twice so far for my 5 year old. The service initially, was great. Although the dentist seem to be in a rush most of the time, this particular dentist took a little more time to explain the vigorous treatments my daughter needed and the options I had the first time. The second time today for follow up, my daughter had another dentist. She was very emotionless and in a rush. I had questions about my daughters options as far as laughing gas vs anesthesia. She did not put any effort into explaining the additional work that needed to be done nor had any consideration of the anesthesia route of putting my daughter under with a $4000 hospital bill. The visit was all of 5 min and she proceeds to the next patient. I then go to the front desk in which the front desk personnel is asking me to sign saying that I was explained everything to bill in which I wasn't. The nature of this visit was so rushed. My daughter is now complaining of her lower tooth hurting after the visit. I will not be returning. read more

They will also check with your insurance company to be sure that you know your exact out of pocket costs.
