I'd never hired an electrician for a job of this size and I can honestly say it was a success because of Sam and his professionalism. We signed a contract in late January 2019, and work was not done until the end of September 2019. The delays were all on Ofir. He used our job as a fill-in between other jobs, even though he promised it would receive his undivided attention. At one point in time he lost his entire crew. He was a two person operation for most of the time. The person working for him bad-mouthed the work he did. The place was always left a complete mess. He was never on-site to supervise his flunkies. So many things had to be done twice or even three times. Garbage was piled in every room and outside as well. It never seemed to be removed! Ofir was rude in his responses to our e-mails. One time he told me to wait until he was finished to complain. He left a expletive-laden voice mail on my husbands phone. Unless you want sloppy workmanship and endless delays, don't even think about using OM Construction.

The team demonstrated solid craftsmanship, stayed close to the agreed timeline, and handled most aspects of the project with professionalism. Communication was generally good, and they were responsive to my questions and concerns throughout the process. The cleanup was also thorough. The company does not provide removal of debris, however they bagged up anything, which made it easy to discard for garbage pick-up. While the company did not provide finishing for my project. They did recommend a trusted, independent painter to complete the job. These issues did not take away from the overall quality of the finished project, addressing them would make the experience even stronger. In the end, the work met expectations, and I appreciate their dedication to completing the project as agreed. I would recommend Arts Stairs NYC to others, while also encouraging clear communication about expectations up front to ensure the best possible outcome.

If you value your home, do not hire Roy and Jacky…read more (Brick for Brick also goes by Brother K Construction same team.) I paid approximately $40,000 for what was supposed to be a straightforward renovation removing one wall and shelving, painting, relocating doors, and building closets. The job was not finished. They walked off site without completing the agreed scope and did not return any portion of the money. The workmanship was careless throughout. They painted over unsanded plaster and visible spackle. Newly installed doors were misaligned. Paint was splattered across finished wood floors. Kitchen cabinets were painted without finishing the interiors. Floors were left completely unprotected during the remainder of construction, resulting in additional damage. My building's hallways were marked and damaged during debris removal because nothing was properly protected. The site itself was chaotic and filthy. Construction dust covered everything. Food waste was left behind. Subcontractors used my guest bathroom like a public rest stop, pouring paint and debris down the sink. It looked less like a professional job site and more like a war zone. Despite a firm move-in deadline, most days there were only two workers present. Jacky openly told me he pays subcontractors $270 per day. Based on the crew size and duration I observed relative to the $40,000 paid, the gross margin on this project was approximately 70 percent! The output did not remotely justify that level of markup. When it became clear they would not meet the deadline, the response was not accountability. It was aggressive yelling. I was shouted at, at close range, in front of other people, and blamed for their delays. Every time I calmly pointed out documented deficiencies, I was talked over, interrupted, and dismissed. I was told, "You don't understand construction," in a condescending tone. The volume, posture, and proximity were intimidating. It was not a normal disagreement. It was sustained, aggressive yelling directed at a woman who was simply asking why the work was incomplete and substandard. I have never been spoken to that way by anyone I was paying, and certainly never in my own home. Instead of correcting mistakes, they deflected and escalated. Instead of addressing documented issues, they attacked the client. An architect reviewed the work daily and issued written correction lists. The deficiencies were objective and documented. They were not properly addressed. They are polished during the sales process. Once paid, the standards collapse. The negative reviews I saw afterward are accurate. I would not hire them again under any circumstances.

Meeting her wasn't like meeting a new vendor, but more like gaining a new friend. We decided on Halina as she provided the most flexible option in terms of choosing our own materials, and she is extremely careful with giving a detailed quote so that the client can see the complete breakdown. Halina helped us with a full kitchen and bathroom renovation. We had a modern kitchen but hated the look. I showed her my Pinterest board which she immediately understood my vision. She brought in an amazing cabinet maker (millworker) who did fabulous custom cabinets for us. I am an avid baker and cook and wanted the small kitchen to be as functional as possible. Halina accommodated with bringing in the millworker who mapped out our entire space for maximum efficiency. This included pull out spice cabinets, utensil cabinets, toe kick and pull out trash bin. We had a custom color sprayed on the lower cabinets and they look and function beautifully; with soft closing drawers and inlay cabinet doors. The bathroom was definitely a complete overhaul. We did a bathtub to shower conversion with hexagon tile flooring, subway tile walls. Halina made sure that all the plumbing was good to go, and while this was a slightly difficult process for us to live without running water for a little bit, the end result is well worth it! We have a beautiful bathroom that makes me feel like I am at a resort every day. The tile work is very well done. As far as change orders, Halina doesn't start anything without asking us. We had a few things that we wanted to change that were on our part - and the prices were fairly reasonable. What we paid at the end was very close to what we were quoted in the beginning. Overall, we are extremely thrilled with our renovation from Aspiro Renovations. Halina's dedication to excellence and continued support is (she has helped us even after the renovation is over) is much appreciated.

I spoke with 6 or 7 contractors before, gratefully, finding Aspiro. Halina's bid was markedly below the other companies. Bringing a sophisticated design sense, and allowing me to choose and order my own materials was a winning partnership that saved money further and created a beautiful end result. Additionally, it should be highlighted that working with a woman contractor brought novel benefits, like attention to detail, emphasis on candid communication to quickly address issues, and a warm collaborative spirit. There was no loss of skill as Halina and her crew are extremely knowledgeable in all areas of construction, engineering and in the trades necessary for renovations. I highly recommend Aspiro for any project big to small--amazing results, at a fair price, while staying sane!
