As our door was being shredded, a neighbor happened to be walking by and saw the entire thing go down. He walked over and recommended J & R for the fix. He told us of the great experiences he had with them and at that moment, that sounded pretty good to me. I called up and they were able to get me an appointment just an hour and a half later, which was awesome. Brian arrived right on time and was very professional from the get go. He explained the entire job in detail to me and quoted us what I felt was a fair price. I was very impressed with how fast he worked. Everything was up and running in no time. Overall, I was very happy with J & R. I would recommend them for sure.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS/ STEALERS!…read more I contacted this company two months ago to replace the garage door motor, keypad, and remote control. The technician did the job and gave me three months of guarantee on the labor and equipment. A few days after, I noticed that one of my control remotes was not working properly. I called the company and the owner blamed the battery and the weather. So, I changed the battery but the issue persisted. I called this company today and the owner gave me the same excuses. I just told him that I need a new remote control. He said he would send a technician out but IF the remote control is working I would have to pay for "the visit". I said it was fine because the remote control is not working properly. When the technician arrived he just saw the remote control and told me it had water in it and that I was not careful with it. I said: WHAT? HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY KNOW THAT? He opened the remote control and immediately went to his vehicle. After 5 minutes came back just to tell me that the remote control is fine. He pressed it several times but did not work. Later, it started to work and I told him that I want a new remote control because it is not working well. He said he fixed it. However, when I asked him if the remote control keeps giving me issues I will call the company again, he said: he would never be back after today. Then, he said he could give me a new one but I had to pay $150 to get it replaced. I said no, I have a guarantee of 3 months and it is covered by the guarantee. He said the guarantee only covered the motor, which was a lie because the receipt says otherwise. Then I told him I paid for those remote controls also. He tried to convince me I did not pay for them arguing that the motor and keypad already come with 2 remote controls: I told him, I am just realizing you STOLE my money because you charged me separately for those remote control. I called the owner. And after 5 minutes of waiting for him, I explained to him the situation and that I wanted a new remote control. He said he will call the technician. He, then, called the technician and started to speak in Arabic (I believe they are from Palestine) so I could not understand what they say at all. Then, the owner told me that the technician already explained to him the remote control is fine and I will have to pay $75 for his visit. I just told him, I will let everybody know that he is running a scam business and are stealing money from people who trust in them with good faith. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THESE PEOPLE ARE STEALERS!!!

Our old garage door used to be tilted, loud and got stuck all the time. Mike from garage door…read moreservice pro came to fix it for us in one freezing winter day. He changed the track, added medal edges to the door, installed a pin pad and remote that can be controlled by our phones. The family member who used to worry about being waken up by us opening the garage door never once complained about the noise after the upgrade. In addition, the post installation service is great. When the sensors were accidentally bumped and the door didn't close, we called the number left on the controller. It was after 5pm, Mike not only picked up the phone, explained the next step, but also drove here to our house to make sure it worked properly. Highly recommended

My contract with Bryan's Home Improvement Handyman Services company has recently been happily…read moreconcluded. The project included painting the entire outside of my house, replacing rotting wood, installing or repairing four windows, and some electrical work. I was looking for a contractor with the staff to handle all of these functions. Not easy to find. The results were outstanding, and frankly, better than I expected. Here are the highlights: Excellent staff, neat, clean, reliable, and hard-working. Management: Outstanding, professional oversight by management. All work was written in a contract. As needed, the contract was amended as we went along. Communication. This was extremely important to me. My communications with the owner and his on-site worker/supervisor and the administrator, were unique in that we all were always on the same page. To sum up. Bryan will be my 'go-to' contractor as I have future project needs, big or small.

The man with a half century in the business was here in an hour and had the door fixed in a flash. A true (old school) professional in a time when that title has been seriously devalued. No one mentioned a service fee, but admittedly that would be reasonable. And in their defense they did come out the same day. However, the van that showed up looked like it had seen better days. The worker who drove it wasn't wearing any type of uniform or logoed info, and his attitude from the time I said hello was that I was clearly bothering him and keeping him from something better. He never introduced himself. He proceeded to tell me my garage doors were installed wrong and the two substantial projects that could be undertaken to fix it. And honestly, he probably wasn't wrong but it was a big up sell right out of the box. I told him that was a problem for another day. Could he figure out what was wrong with the door? "Yes," he said, then stared at me for an uncomfortable period of time with a blank expression on his face. "Would you tell me what it is?" I asked. He then stepped toward the garage door sensor and moved the corner of a nearby bag of mulch my family had picked up the day before that was partially blocking one sensor. Then he just glared at me like I'd murdered his puppy. Well, needless to say I felt stupid for not looking and embarrassed I had wasted his time. I apologized and asked what I owed for the trip out, fully prepared to pay for the wasted trip. He then asked, "Did they give you a number on the phone like $45 or $65?" No, there was no discussion of a service fee. He said, "OK, it's $65." That felt arbitrary, but hey, I called them out for nothing. I got my checkbook and then, because there was no name on the van and no uniform or logo and I couldn't immediately remember the name of the company I asked who to make the check out to. He said, "Well, I'll tell you." Another awkward pause. He then proceeded to spell what I assume was his name, extremely slowly ... like I was an idiot. And, both shocked and embarrassed, I was dumb enough to do it (on this day, maybe I was an idiot). I basically wrote a $65 check to some random guy rather than to the company because I couldn't remember the name (I'd bookmarked it on Yelp though!) and I was too embarrassed to call him on it after having made the stupid mistake of not checking the sensor first. That's on me. The fact that he pulled the stunt is on him, hence my review. I can't speak to the quality of their work, but I can tell you their customer service is poor, the operation appears to be literally run out of a nondescript van and their payment practices are shady. My recommendation: Avoid this company.
