He came over and told me exactly what the problem was, the price and when he was available. His price was competitive and lower than others I had used in the past. Over the years he has provided professional, quality and technical service. Once I had a variety of problems he walked me through which I should fix first then perhaps wait on the others. In the end he fixed it completely. He's a patient listener, kind and extremely knowledgeable due to his long years of experience. He schooled me as to which chemicals to buy to maintain my spa. I most recently saw that my spa was leaking. I called him and he came right over the next day. Of course the spa was suddenly completely dry and showed no leaks. You see it in the quality of their work and in their work ethic. If you own a hot tub, that person is Annetta Johansen of 805 Backyard Living. We had gotten several estimates on fixing our spa, but the usual reaction was that it was just too old and needed to be replaced (at considerable cost I might add). One guy said he would have to take the spa to his shop to work on it! Annetta agreed to try to fix what was broken, and do it on site. She was able to identify all the problems (and there were quite a few I might add) and find good replacement parts for our old Sundance spa. You could tell she really understood the workings of the spa and explained all the problems clearly. She offered me a variety of reasonable options for each problem, and got that spa up and running perfectly, all the while saving me beaucoup bucks. Her fees are reasonable and she really stands by her work. She absolutely deserves the 5-Star rating and I would highly recommend her for any issues you are having with your spa. She also does spa maintenance, weekly service, water changes, spa moves and spa inspections.

We constantly get compliments on the appearance of our home. Samantha was the landscape architect who created the design, and it was amazing to see her lay out the vision. She saved us space in ways I definitely couldn't have conceived of on my own. She said the remodel would be like doubling our living space, and she was right! Scott oversaw the construction from start to finish. He was very attentive and obviously cared about and was fully invested in the success of the project. He had an expertise with plants and gave great guidance to give me the colors I wanted in plants that would work for our space and the SoCal heat. I am constantly smiling at the plants Scott suggested. They are thriving, and I wouldn't change a thing. The crew was respectful, clean and did a beautiful job. It was a long project, but Pacific Outdoor kept their initial timeline. Our main reason for going with Pacific Outdoor was that they were a one-stop shop. They could do everything. They truly delivered, and it is better than we ever imagined! It was so easy to look at their choices and select what we wanted. They had a wide variety of design choices. We replaced most of the grass in the back with their pavers and used the same pavers for our driveway. They look fantastic. Their website touts "20+ years in the pool business" and custom pool design, build, remodel, and repair services in Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero, and the Central Coast. However, my experience was extremely negative and serves as a serious warning to other homeowners considering hiring this contractor. What Happened in My Case Before hiring him, my loan company refused financing because he was on a contractor blacklist due to active lawsuits -- a red flag I later confirmed after issues began. I was given an alternative financing method and, trusting his explanation, entered a contract for a full pool build. Payments were tied to construction milestones because I had no traditional pool loan oversight. During the build, many construction errors occurred, clearly due to poor supervision and bad direction from Mark. Multiple portions of the build are out of building code, which means they must be demolished and redone before final inspection can pass. He was absent during most of the build, showing up mainly when money was due. He promised to install a saltwater system but claimed it should wait until water chemistry was balanced -- then changed his number and disappeared. Subcontractors were not paid by him and attempted to place liens against my property because of unpaid bills, forcing me into months of conflict. This is particularly troubling given other reports showing mixed review experiences for this business.
