Some of those places can sometimes live off of their reputation and can scale so large that they lose what made them great. Oak City takes nothing for granted regarding the pizza, cold beer (at a great price) or their service. The staff were very friendly and the owner was really engaging. Since it was our first time there, she came out to our table to ask us how everything was and talked about how they got their start and a bit about their passion for making really great pizza. We have had excellent Neapolitan style pizza at some of the best places in the state and the metro, namely -- Andolini's in Tulsa on Cherry Street and the Wedge in midtown OKC, and neither of them have anything on Oak city. To start, the crust is tender and bubbly around the edges and has a great flavor. It looks exactly like the pictures on their web site and It's made from a 5 year old sour dough starter and is absolutely a perfect artisan style crust. The sauce has a mild, but distinctive tomato flavor that won't overpower the crust or the toppings. There is also no need to order extra cheese because the normal amount is plenty. We will definitely be back soon, and next time, we'll try the Detroit style pizza too -- along with the original. Do yourself a favor and try this place out soon. And by the way -- this is a legitimate review -- no 9ne asked me to write it, I just appreciate their product and effort.

I never really dined in but always had orders called in for pickup. For whatever reason my wife wanted pizza but not our normal stops. Papa Angelo's was her choice. I had forgotten they have two sets of hours first from 1100 - 2:00 then again from 5:00 - 9:00. We arrived before 5 so we waited until they opened. My wife really didn't care what type of pizza so I ordered a 20" pizza 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 Italian sausage. Also ordered 2 side salads. The salads were well prepared! My only thing to put this over the top would be to serve in cold bowls. I opted for the house dressing which was delicious. The pizza was good like I remembered. I would prefer a little more sauce on my pizza but I think by default they have a set amount they put on. I would definitely get more sauce on my pizza on my next visit. It's not my favorite crust but it works! There is plenty of seating with a large area for groups. Adina who is part of the family came to visit with us at our table and we gained a lot of information about the restaurant and her family. What a wonderful woman to meet! Also on Friday's they have live music and they set up just prior to us leaving! We listened to a few songs prior to leading. I promise it won't be 10 years beside going back again!

I've eaten plenty of chain pizza over the years, and this food completely blew them away. Money is tight for me, so ordering delivery is a rare treat. I spent a long time deciding whether to splurge on dinner tonight, and after the first few bites I knew I had made the right decision. The food was excellent, the experience was excellent, and they earned themselves a loyal customer. I'll definitely be ordering again and recommending them to others. Thank you for a fantastic meal.

This thin crust pizza may be the best in Oklahoma City. We decided on sharing a 14 inch pizza half supreme and half all meat. We were super impressed with how many toppings were on each side. One of my daughters said that it's better than any pizza she's ever had in her entire life. Admitted, she's only 11 but that's still a pretty strong statement from her. Decided to stop and try the pizza everyone had raved about and we were NOT disappointed. We split the 12" half Italian sausage and half veggie with added jalapeños. The crust is as described in another review, slightly crispy at the bottom without being super thin. It's light, not doughy, and so deliciously tasty. Ingredients were fresh and sausage tasted authentically Italian. We split a salad which was served family style. Again, veggies were fresh, crisp, and nicely blended with iceberg lettuce and spinach, black olives, tomatoes, onions and cucumbers. Super kind and attentive owners. I can't believe this place doesn't have a crowd of people waiting outside for a table but understand how they stay in business - they had people in and out the whole time we were there picking up to go orders. We're now regulars going forward.

Plus it's hard to find places that still sell by the slice which has always baffled me because that's easy money. I normally don't do ranch with my pizza, but I went for it and it's the delicious kind that's thick made with sour cream in house. They sell Pepsi products which doesn't bother me and even have some craft beers in their fridge.
