Problems below. 1. Multiple emails attempting to get Hucke Drywall to come out with very little response or no response at all. 2. Gave Hucke drywall my availability on the day of the site visit. Never gave me an ETA on when he was going to arrive. Ended up delaying the visit because I took 30 min to respond to a text. 3. Tried to increase his price because I "never" told him it would be rounded corners or knockdown texture even though that was included in the original bid. 4. NOT friendly. 5. We did the framing ourselves because we are not made of money and tried to make our dollar go further. He kept critisizing the work. Excuse me, we may not be professionals, but there is a nice way and a mean way to say things need to happen prior to the next step. Obviously, they didn't want the job. He kept asking, Well, why aren't you doing this wall yet, why aren't you finishing this door... I told him multiple times this is a large basement and we are doing things in phases. We are NOT using Hucke and I would only recommend using Hucke if you absolutely need to. Clearly our project was too "small" for him.

The Mr. Handyman tech did find some additional repairs that needed to be done and did so efficiently. Overall charge was very reasonable and work quality was very high. I will definitely use Mr. Handyman-Waukesha again and I do recommend them most highly.

The remaining three projects were not completed.  Two projects were declined on-site due to "code issues", which should have been identified and communicated during the estimating process and not included in the original quote.  The fifth project was dismissed with the explanation that nothing could be done. Despite no work being performed on three of the five projects, I was charged with the full estimate of $940 for just 4 hours of labor.  Charging for work that wasn't performed is unacceptable.   In addition, the technician arrived 75 late and his demeanor throughout the visit was rude and unprofessional.  He did not demonstrate the level of skill or professionalism I expect from a trained technician. Based on the incomplete work, the unexpected charges, and the unprofessional conduct, I cannot recommend this company.

We had Terry remodel our 1940s bathroom - electrical, plumbing, tile, tub, painting, toilet, sink,…read morelighting, cabinet, exhaust fan, grab bars, counter, plaster repair - the works! It's now been about 4 months since he finished the work and each day I look at our new bathroom and think "wow!' He did a great job! He was patient and always responsive to any questions or issues, and cleaned up each day. Great workmanship too. He started out by measuring and answering any questions we had, offering ideas here and there but letting us make our own decisions. Unlike some other contractors, he did not give fancy 3D architectural renderings, nor did he accompany us to each supplier to pick out products. Here's what his process was, which was perfect for us. We received a proposal contract which listed each item or task, along with a cost allowance for each item. If we chose something more expensive than its allowance, the final price would reflect the increase. If what we chose cost less than the allowance, the final cost would go down by that much. So we had a bottom line price from the start and would have the final decision on expenses. He then also gave us a list of his suggested suppliers from which to pick out all of the products. We worked with those suppliers to make selections at their respective showrooms (they work with TLC regularly), and they forwarded our selections to Terry. A few selections we made were from suppliers not on his list, which was fine, but the places he suggested were where most of the items came from. When all selections were made, he provided us with a revised proposal contract reflecting our selections and revised costs. Then he - not us - did the ordering from each vendor to insure that all of the parts and pieces fit together and would work, plus that way his contractor discount was applied. His final contract to us was transparent and showed all prices. No additional markups, no change order fees, no nonsense. If someone wants computer-generated architectural renderings, having him present at each supplier meeting, one central showroom where every needed product and samples are all in one place, then this type of contractor isn't likely for you. If however, you want a remodeling contractor that not only provides the quote but also does the actual work himself, with reliable suppliers that work with him, with a fair price and a minimal amount of stress (if that's possible lol), then TLC's a good choice. Would we recommend TLC Contracting? If you haven't it already guessed: the answer is absolutely!

Chris arrived assuring us he would protect our floors as well as contain the drywall dust. He applied protective floor covering from the entry point to his work area. In addition, he applied plastic sheeting enclosing the entire work area. It was mentioned that a very small amount of drywall dust may be present afterwards - it was very minimal. We vacuumed afterwards and all was good. When obtaining quotes, many other companies indicated this would be a three (3) day job. JB Custom indicated it would be a half day job and it was - approximately 5 hours total! The price for this work was reasonable. We asked that orange peel texture be applied to the repaired area, my husband anticipated having to paint the entire ceiling once the repair was completed. We had the work performed in the morning and by evening the area was visibly dry, we couldn't distinguish the repaired area from the other areas of the ceiling - absolutely amazing! No painting was necessary! The project manager stopped in just as Chris had finished the repair; she was professional, friendly and wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the work, which we absolutely were!

Finally, May 2026 made all the arrangements and after receiving what felt like monthly calls or text messages from this company harassing me about scheduling the job, I caved. They quoted me approx $6000 for the total job. After the first few days we immediately saw so many red flags and was disappointed. Olivia, the project manager was rude, unprofessional and did not communicate with her own team and us properly. The crew would arrive at my house asking us what needed to be done. So once they reinstalled new drywall I could not believe how jacked up it was. Nothing was level! I complained and yes they came back to fix everything that I pointed out but what if I didn't say anything? The owner told me he would have given us a discount after all of this and I get the remaining balance sent in an email and Nop, no discount. Next time I need drywall work done I know who not to go to.
