It was entertaining and good information, but I suspect that this "cowboy" does his act in Wyoming (or some other dude ranch) in the summer and Hawaii in the winter. His western cowboy accent sounded kind of fake to me, but I'm pretty cynical. He and his wife then sing songs and encourage people to dance. The next part is the buffet. I'm a prime rib kind of guy, so I thought it was fantastic and very good quality. There is also chicken, beans, salad, buns, dessert, and the other stuff that you would expect. Included is beer, wine, and bottled water, and soda. The after-dinner entertainment includes roping steers (of of the wooden variety), smores, and the chance to brand a piece of wood. If you look at their website, you will see exactly what you are getting. If that's worth $85 (per adult), go for it. It was included in our Hawaii tour package, so that was fine. If I had to pay $170 per couple, I'm not sure I'd do it.

One thing we really appreciated was that the guide adjusted the pace to match the group. If you want to take it slow and steady, you can. If you're feeling more adventurous, they'll pick up the speed. It made the experience feel personalized rather than rigid. Toward the end, there's a short hike down to a beautiful waterfall area that feels tucked away and peaceful. Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain during our visit, so the falls were running strong and it wasn't safe to swim. While that was a bit of a bummer, it was still impressive to see the power of the water and didn't take away from the overall experience. If you're looking for something active and scenic on the Hilo side, this is absolutely worth adding to your itinerary. It's a great mix of adventure, views, and a little glimpse into local farmland life, and clearly a highlight of our trip.

The fruit tasting tour was also amazing. We also did the carving tour with Mani a few years ago. He is a true craftsman and hilarious to be around as well. You can't mess up any carving that he can't fix! Impress your friends with your tiki (that he can make beautiful despite your futile attempts to carve on your own.

Aloha Adventure Farms only has 10 single rider ATVs and for those without one, you'll have to ride in the UTV with one of the tour guides. The ATV Adventure operates rain or shine and lasts for 2 hours. For safety reasons, make sure to wear closed toe shoes. I ended up in the UTV with two other wives, and we had the time of our lives. It started raining during the tour, but thanks to the UTVs covered top, we stayed about 90% dry. If it weren't for the bumpy route, we would have loved to have a thermos of wine in hand with our hunky driver to guide us along the way. We had two tour guides who were not only fit and handsome, but knowledgeable and kept things light and entertaining for our guests. They drove us around the farm, stopping at various points to share fun, interactive, and educational tidbits about different Polynesian islands. One of the highlights was sampling fresh coconut and pineapple--it was so good, we wished we could take some home! If you have extra time, I'd recommend doing the tiki carving class, as this was such a unique experience I wish we had time for! For efficiency, I would suggest completing the waiver prior to your adventure so you can arrive and get going. Bonus: clean restrooms are onsite. PRO TIP: Take as many pictures and videos on your phone. The guides also do this, but CHARGE you if you'd like their pictures/videos the following day

It's not a set tour you go with the flow here. It's a nice ride up through the Forrest the lava area and by the angus cattle (yum). It's our first time and we enjoyed ourselves. We wore exactly what they recommend and it was perfect for the occasion. They have horses dogs pigs peacocks and chickens on the ranch. The horse come right up to you. They even have poi and bumblebee. The family who own and run the tours are fantastic! Aki and Martin were great tour guides. Keala is really accommodating with making the arrangements. We went zip lining and recommended a couple that told us they wanted to try that too. There's plenty of days to tan...

While the equipment is dirty and used it all operated reliably well and it appears that they have good inventory and a robust set up to keep things going. Very convenient to the kaanapali and kappuela area.
