I brought in my son once a week for several months until he was desensitized and willing to get a cleaning. Everyone was so nice every single time and stopped what they were doing as soon as my son felt overwhelmed. They truly want kids to enjoy their visit to the dentist. My son always walks out with a balloon and trinkets to make him feel special. My insurance doesn't cover this practice but the out of pocket price was worth every penny. If you have a special needs, autistic child, this place goes above and beyond! Highly recommend!

She sat down at the iPad station and completely forgot we were waiting for the dentist. Even walking down the hallways seeing all the different walls and rooms, we were excited to see which room was ours. Dr. Spaeth did our cleaning and always filled two cavities! Amazing at keeping her calm, relaxed and engaged during both visits . Every team member we met was incredible. Efficient and with clear communication every step of the way! I have taken her to a few different dentist due to changes in insurance and relocating...this by far is my favorite. I can tell by how relaxed her hands and feet was during both appointments that she wasn't scared. Usually her hands would be clenched in a fist , never here

Do not recommend this place at all after my horrible experience here. I didn't agree with my…read moredaughter being seen without my being there(she is too young) and told the staff as they were taking her in the back. Let me add, this wasn't mentioned at all before my appointment, or I would not have come. They said that I could go back there when the dentist does, then did NOT let me know when she was going back. Hmmm. For what safety reasons are they arguing? When BOTH receptionists weren't wearing their masks the entire time I was standing in the waiting room. They quickly pull their masks back up when the dentist came out, obviously because they are supposed to have them up. No other patients were present so there is no reason why I wouldn't be allowed in there. And the poor handling of this entire situation has really proven just how 'professional' this office is. I should have listened to the many other poor reviews on this page. Hope others do not make the same mistake.

Hi Dental is located in the same block/main building of The Jefferson of Farmingdale Plaza…read more(apartment complex). Directly surrounding the block are metered spots. There's a free three hour lot off of S Front St between Main St and Elizabeth St as well. Hi Dental is actually considered out-of-network for our dental insurance, but every single member of my family hates the dentist so it was of the utmost importance to find one that we actually do love. I spoke to Kate, the receptionist, about our insurance situation. I stressed that I didn't mind a reasonable cost but that I was concerned about extreme, surprise bills. She got our information, spoke to our insurance, and was able to be very transparent about the charges that we may incur. I also received handy text reminders on my phone before our appointments. The office itself is clean and brand new. We actually lived in the same building when Hi Dental opened and I'd been eyeing it as a potential dentist for two years before mustering up the courage to bring my family. There's a restroom right off of the waiting room that's large enough to accommodate our double stroller and myself. There's also water, tea, and coffee available. My daughter enjoyed the little reading nook and kid's books. There's also free wifi available that was easy and reliable to connect to. As aforementioned, no one in my family enjoys going to the dentist. My young daughter and husband straight up hate going. My daughter refused to even open her mouth up for a dentist up until her appointment with Dr. Im. So that meant she never had a successful dentist visit until now at the age of five. I mentioned this on the paperwork new patients fill out before being seen. Dr. Im read it and had a brief chat with me before they brought my daughter back for a cleaning. I was able to stand in the hallway by the exam room and observe her appointment. I knew it'd be a home run as soon as Dr. Im offered to play something on Netflix for my daughter to watch during her appointment. Dr. Im and Kate explained everything that they were doing before they did it. A positive time at the dentist for my child is priceless because it makes my life easier. For my husband and I, Dr. Im showed us the x-rays of our teeth before doing a cleaning. My husband is an orthopod and seeing our x-rays clearly on the large flat screen tv was just a nice, quiet confirmation that Dr. Im is being honest with her suggestions for further dental care. We both found it easy to talk to her about our respective dental concerns. I also thought Dr. Im had a light, gentle touch when it came to the actual cleaning and Kate was also not overzealous with the suctioning. We got a clear breakdown of the cost of our visits and a bag of dental goodies at the end of our appointments. Dr. Im and Kate transformed our family's negative perception of dentist visits. I'd highly recommend Hi Dental to everyone!

The first call was my wife who had explained the situation and we needed to see someone ASAP. She was put on hold only to be told that there was nothing for another 1.5 weeks. I called immediately after to appeal since he was in constant pain and was unable to eat for two days (we'd been to the ER and they only put on a layer that came off the next day--the office was closed Sunday and Monday). Suddenly, the receptionist's tone changed and we were shut down that they couldn't take us and had no alternative suggestions for us. About an hour later, Dr. Ioannou called me directly to make it right. He found a way for Dr. Matt to see us immediately. When we showed up, we were seen very quickly. And while the tooth had to be extracted, they were great with my son. (I've never done this before but I deleted an older post I made because of how quickly Dr. Ioannou responded and how friendly they were to my son; I was not asked to remove it or edit my post in any way)

Dr. Khan and the orthodontists themselves have been good, but my experience with the office's…read moreinsurance and billing practices has been extremely disappointing. Before starting treatment, I specifically asked Michelle to verify my insurance because, as a teacher living on a budget, I could not afford unexpected costs. I delayed treatment for a week so they could confirm coverage, and I was assured my insurance would cover $1,500. Based on that information, I signed the contract and began treatment. Months later, after already being deep into treatment, I was suddenly told that insurance had not covered anything and that I was responsible for the balance. When I questioned this, I was told they had only done a "verbal" verification and had no documentation of it. Despite repeatedly assuring me coverage had been verified, they now point only to the contract saying I am responsible if insurance does not pay. Communication has also been extremely frustrating. Calls were not returned, I was repeatedly placed on hold until the office closed, and promised callbacks never happened. Meanwhile, payments continued being deducted without proof of payment being provided. Unfortunately, while the orthodontic treatment itself seems fine, the business practices felt unprofessional and predatory. I trusted that my insurance had been properly verified before committing to treatment, but instead I was left dealing with unexpected financial consequences after I was already "on the hook" in the middle of treatment.
