My wife is an existing patient of Dr. Bullard's, having received a teeth cleaning. She went in…read moretoday for a consultation concerning a possible crown repair. She explained over the phone to Regina in billing that the damage was due to blunt force trauma in an auto accident. We have Cigna (medical) insurance, not Cigna (dental) insurance. Dr. Bullard's office is in-network with Cigna. However, this would fall under medical (since caused by an auto accident). Cigna would fund this repair through the dental arm of Cigna even though we only have Cigna medical. (This can be confusing to the lay person, but this should be elementary to any experienced billing employee). To make this happen, my wife would need to submit our bill to Cigna for reimbursement of this potential procedure. This was all brought up and verified by our Cigna case worker. My wife, who has been a nurse for 30 years also understands this and she explained this over the phone to Regina, who said, "That would work." But today, when my wife came in, Regina said they can't bill insurance since it is a medical billing issue and not technically dental. My wife said yes, "I know, I will be the one to submit the bill to insurance and get reimbursed." Regina seemed to not understand because, apparently, when my wife explained how this scenario works, she just said "yes" to everything over the phone to get on with the next issue. But when my wife was in front of her, Regina said, "How would the Dr. know for sure it happened, how you say it happened?" It's important to note here, another dentist in Sherman who is performing an implant procedure on my wife, saw this particular crown's X-ray and stated "this is obvious it was caused by outside trauma". So, Regina is stepping beyond her medical expertise as a billing office worker, and it is not her place, ethically, to put an invalid scenario through Doctor Bullard. My wife then said, "I can't afford to pay for all this," which she meant, as-in implants and crown repair if she couldn't get reimbursed. At any rate, my wife sat down in the waiting area for her appointment with Dr. Bullard, for his opinion on the crown. She did NOT cancel the appointment. She was on the phone during some of this time with another Docs office concerning her fractured pelvis from this same auto accident. Keep in mind, my wife arrived at 10:30 for her 10:30 appointment with Dr Bullard. At 11, my wife walked up to the front desk and asked how much longer would it might be. Regina then said incredulously, "You've missed your appointment!" We have no issue with Dr Bullard's track record of providing excellent care, nor any staff except for Regina. This Regina, short graying hair, for you to identify, does not possess the necessary aptitude to solve a problem of this level. She should be able to grasp a billing issue like this since she works in the billing office. But more importantly, Regina does not display any reasonable empathy that is demanded in the medical field on a personal level since she just sat and watched my wife's appointment time expire while waiting visibly upset.

I will start with the staff was mostly polite and helpful. But this place is not kid friendly!…read more They will not allow parent to go back with child during dental work, which is not only questionable but not helpful when your daughter is scared and the dentist can't make her feel safe like a parent does. When she was to scared to allow the work to be done the said I would have to take her someplace else. Very dissatisfied with this company.
