I attended 2 events at the Perkowitz Art studio in Grayslake with my husband. The first one was…read morerock painting that I have been doing for several years as I am a member of Grayslake Rocks. My husband surprised me when he said he wanted to attend & we both enjoyed the event immensely. The second event was in October to paint the Scary House. I had registered to attend with my good friend but due to unforseen circumstances she had to cancel at the last minute. My husband offered to accompany me as I had already registered & paid. We both were amazed this was not just painting a picture of a house, it was an art class taught by Tom Perkowitz. It was truly a memorable experience & who knew ? A Saturday afternoon date for this married couple who are polar opposites in many ways, accidentally discovering they had found a hobby that appealed to both of them & should pursue future events of this type. I bought paint by number sets for us & am hoping that more of this classes will be offered at the studio or may just create a paint party of my own with friends if there are no events coming up. I rate this a 5 & highly recommend this place to one & all.

Neil is by far, the best instructor of the bunch. His expertise stems from a combination of formal ceramics education, over 20 years of experience, and a passion for his art. His teaching style is casual and funny, and the class atmosphere is relaxed, allowing one to work at their own pace. Ceramic Pieces: Neil's designs are beautiful pieces of functional pottery, and he really listens to the wishes his clients when they order custom pieces & sets. It is noteworthy that many of us continue year after year because of this atmosphere of fun, laughter and learning. Throwing pots takes a great deal of practice and we learn from our mistakes. For that reason, it is so nice that Neil does not hover over us. We are able to make those mistakes without feeling nervous or under the spotlight, yet he is there to help when needed. This window has been in my family for 50 years now. It was in my house when I was growing up and…read morehas moved with me twice. I had installed it into my present house and my wife and I enjoyed looking at it every time we walked into our bedroom. Last year I noticed the glass was coming out of the leading holding it together. Upon further investigation I realized that the wood frame was rotted on the outside causing the issue. The glass was literally sinking out of the frame. After searching the internet I stumbled across Art Glass and Studio. I'm sure glad I did. Lawrence (Law) was a pleasure to work with! He was honest and realistic about his timeframe for assessing the situation and actually getting the work started and finished. I really appreciated that he let us know that he is a busy guy handling a number of projects at the same time but would give our window his utmost attention when our time came. He gave us plenty of options for the repairs working with our budget and suggesting different methods for reinstallation of the window. The option we chose was to make the window a decorative piece instead of an actual permanent window. That way if we move again or our children want the window to stay in the family after we're gone it will be easier to move it to the next place. When it came time for our window to be worked on, I removed it from our house (my choice to save money) and took it over to his shop. Law started on it and kept us informed as to how it was going. Once started, he finished it quickly and it looks great! In this day and age of "bait and switch" it was such a pleasure to work with someone who actually does what he says and does great work. This window was built around 1870 and thanks to Art Glass and Studio (Law) it should have another 150 years of in it. I highly recommend them
