Long story short, my now-husband and I had to find a new photographer one month before our wedding. Needless to say, I was panicking, but thankfully Mike had our day open and not only that, he went above and beyond in that month to make us feel comfortable with him for the big day by insisting on meeting in person multiple times and scheduling a casual photoshoot so we could get used to his direction and working together. It's Mike's professionalism and warmth that really stood out and impressed me. He's never late, had a great second shooter, and is very responsive to phone and email. Of course his photos are crazy, crazy beautiful and I am SO glad we found him (through Yelp too if I may add)! On the day of the wedding, I didn't notice him in our faces at all. Our daughter got married in Chicago and we live in Florida so it was very complicated to find somebody that we would like. Being that the wedding was in downtown Chicago, everybody that I talk to before finding Robert was very stuck up and very very pricey. When I looked at Roberts work on his website I was absolutely amazed by the pictures that he would take. They were not traditional wedding pictures where you have everybody just lined up, they were pictures of the moments, pictures of the things that were actually happening. Just by looking at those pictures you could imagine what was going on at those weddings. His photographs tell a story and capture the most natural shots possible. For us, this was very important. Robert was very courteous and was able to cover the day without being obtrusive while at the same time being in the right place at the right time. We had many compliments about him from our guests. When I was hiring Robert I wanted to hire two photographers for my daughter's wedding every single moment would be captured. He tried to assured me that I would not need two photographers because of the size of her wedding. We had 80 people. I know, that sounds cheesy, but it's true. The day of our wedding was amazing. What I really loved about Matt and his assistant, Ernst, was that I don't think I saw him the entire time! He was never in my face or in the way but he managed to capture some of the most amazing moments. We have such great photos, I can't even believe it! Most of the other photographers I found were using silly photoshop filters or taking pictures at an angle to make the photos look creative, which I think is really cheesy. But what stuck out for me in Steve's sample photos were that all the images were so sharp and looked naturally beautiful. Before I met Steve, I had worked with several other local photographers and I can say Steve was by FAR the best to work with. He pays a lot of attention to the details in the photo like the sourroundings, positioning and lighting. His photos are beautiful, plus his prices blow the competition out of the water! The best park is he even gives you ALL the photos on a CD when your done. He offered to touch up 10 photos for free, but we didn't even think they needed touching up because they came out so well.
